And no, I don't have DDF ignored. Being able to read his posts and then the incredibly negative reaction to them is much more entertaining than it has any right to be. Greetard, on the other hand, might be on my list if he keeps pulling stunts like that...

I didn't do anything WRONG. If anything, you should think less of Defender for going out of his way to do this to DDF. I just felt bad for him. It's like McCarthyism- He's up against people who are deliberately trying to get him in trouble, but he can't put up a defense for it. Sorry for doing something RIGHT I guess... :roll:

fuck my on-the-fence stand from last night.

Let's just say it flat out: I DO think less of defender. Calling out one forum user in particular isn't appropriate, especially not when most of the issues surrounding him are because of other users with a grudge against him. We know you don't like him. That's fine. But making a thread like this isn't really acceptable.

I'm not worried about being banned either, especially since I haven't done anything wrong.

And nothing against you personally, Greetard Just no more posting giant strings of quotes and I'll be perfectly fine with you.

Greetard is now on my ignore list too. As as matter of fact I think from now on anyone quoting DDF will just get added to my list.

As for me going out of my way...you should read how many posts are here about DDF. He is an attention whore supreme and I have had enough. One more thread about him isn't gonna kill anyone. Also I know for a fact that many users don't seem to know how to use the ignore function and I thought my post would be helpful in that regard.

Every damn time someone reports a post...the entire admin and mod staff get an email. I get at leasta 3-1 ratio about DDF. It's annoying that I click on a report post..and sure enough it's another DDF you suck post.

I can't ban anyone it's only CheapyD who can do this. I already pleaded that he do so. His reply was to use the ignore and so I am. I think if DDF didn't have all the attention here he would go elsewhere.

I really really wish he would too. I feel like he is dragging down the quality of the site.

I also think it was unneccessary to single out DDF in you thread; you could have just given the information about the ignore list and let people draw their own conclusions.

DDF is just having his own little warped version of fun, and I would think that just ignoring him would help your situation. But egging him on like this? Come on...

like defender said, every other reported post was about DDF, and it had to be said. It causes real problems to get overlooked and makes a feature that should be used to help find and solve problems useless

I thought Cheapy gave all mods the right to ban people. I guess not. That's why I thought this thread was a joke. ;)

Thanks for getting rid of him. He said a few things that went a bit too far. Plus, his trolling got rather poor and unfunny over time.
 
The point of the thread is that anyone can get rid of DDF instead of bothering the mods. The users now can ignore just about anyone. You basically are impossing your own type of ban against the user.

I already feel more at peace.

I ain't trying to pick on anyone or be mean...but it's a problem when the mods get flooded with emails daily from users who could just use the ignore feature. I single out DDF because realistically he accounts for the majority of the reports.

Then you should change what it says when reporting posts...

This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and EXTREME problematic posts (threats, fighting, explicit pornography).

I think suggesting that my face gets slapped around by dicks constantly, would fall into the explicit category.

Or just turn the report post function off.

I like how everyone is scared of defender because he has the big scary Administrator under his name. If anyone else started shit like this people would be all over him. There's no need to single out DDF, it would have been just as effective to make a post going over how to ignore someone in general, I'm sure people could have put two and two together, especially since there is already a "Who feels like a big man by admitting he ignored DDF" thread.

If people would have started using the ignore feature on him, there would be nowhere near the number of reported posts we have about him. Botttom line, it gets old reading these reported posts for real trivial shit and someone had to point it out to the people more directly.

i hardly think ddf can be blamed for peoples inability to deal with "really trivial shit"

and i feel that defender and yourself are greatly exagerating the amount of reported posts on ddf. i cant say an exact number since i trash them, but id say there would be 1-3 per week since we got the new board running. and as you stated, most of them were for something very trivial.

defender, if they bother you so much (the reported posts) why do you read them? is it not as simple to delte them rather than to put yourself through the burden of reading things you dont want? as youve said, youre not a mod and have no reason to get them, so why read them?
 
It's silly for anyone to fear me and my post is in no way some threat to DDF. I rarely post anymore and I have never been truely a moderator. I am an administrator and usually just help keep the site up. I feel I am more of a member now. Especially since VGD is on hiatus.

I still feel it's my duty to read the report posts and heck...curiousity kills the cat. I did ask in the mod forums if I could just stop getting them but it seems that's not possible.

Now you state yourself that we get at least 1-3 per week about DDF (I think it is more) well that's still a lot for just one user. Why do we constantly have to get alerts about this guy? And it's usually from different members who suddenly can't take it...or are new and think to themselves how much of a troll he is. I think he makes CAG look really bad. He posts way too much negative stuff. You might think it is funny and that's fine. But I don't and many others don't either.

This thread is not an argument. This thread is about those who have had enough of this guy and are going to ignore him. I am not sure why there is a debate about it. I ain't threatening anyone. And I can't even read the posts by DDF telling me off so I can't even argue with him. Sorry Punqsux but guess what....

This post is about my ability to deal with trivial shit...ignore ON. I am also telling others how to do it in the hope that the reports about DDF slow down some. 1 per week IMHO is too much.

If you have it gets removed, edited or reported by ass kissers/lickers and then removed or you just get banned for expressing one. Everyone reports on everyone and some mods love it.

To make you feel better I changed my title. I ain't trying to throw any weight around here. I just speak to CheapyD a lot and voice my opinion. CheapyD is a big boy and does what he wants. I just like to have my say that's all.

I ain't trying to defend anything btw. You can say what you want about me it does't really matter. People like or dislike other people all the time for various reasons.

I think it's funny that the reason I ignored DDF and created this post was mostly because I was bothered by those reported posts about him and I was getting tired of those people upset over his posts. It bothers me more that I get the reports than the actual DDF posts. They are dumb and asanine but so are those that continue reporting him. Now here you are just as bothered by someone who is bothered. It's ironic.

Then... Sweeney... He just hit defender a whole lot harder than Lina. Was that ok? I wouldn't doubt she reported a lot of them. I can't say for sure, so I wont. Yes, he masha may be a little overzealous... but if what he said is true, he's lived through this in real live. That would most definitely skew his vantange point. However, it is also true that if he doesn't like it, he can leave. (Which I hope he doesn't)

Babysitting? I don't really even pay attention to her anymore to avoid be bothered by what she says. I only post about her when I'm asked directly about her, which has happened.... I think, twice. Both times I was very brief about her and concious of not saying anything mean.

Lina is as i have said before, looking for attention, and thats about it, she seems to enjoy causing the controversy, she does, now whether that is grounds for any actions to be taken is up to the higher officials, and i have no strong opinions whether she stays or goes, but that pizza hut thread really went OT as a result of her actions, much to my dismay, now as far as what i said about her enjoying controversy, is up to you to believe, but i think its pretty easy to see her need for attention, olh and check out the midnight club clan thread in the xbox forum for the official CAG car, of midnight club :)
 
I just got word from the Head Cheap Master that DDF is NOT banned and that he only changed his own title. If DDF gets banned it's because of a decision CheapyD has made and not because I think he should be. There are lots of opinions that he listens to not just mine. He usually has his own good instincts though and follows them.

Also DDF can get himself banned through poor decisions on his posting. It has happened in the past and it can happen again. Someone feels all ticked off and looses their cool and suddenly they post something extremely inappropriate and get banned.

It really boils down to IF you want to be here or not. Some members get fed-up and decide to lash out. The lashing-out is the problem. No one says we have to like each other...just be civil. Personal attacks aren't something we need to do. I always find personal attacks on the web rather dumb considering usually people don't know each other beyond the forums. What's the point of that?

Anyways...I hope the angst in this thread starts to calm down before it gets out of hand and someone does get banned.
