It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

I was going to go without a case at first but I think I need one for propping it up while I'm typing.
 
Received my best buy order today. Still waiting for my onsale cancellation notice, i ordered around 6:50 and next day shipping. I guess i'll call them tomorrow and try and cancel the order oh well. Hopefully hp will come through.
 
Best Buy's in Tampa area SUCK!!!!! 3 stores received their stock today and swore they weren't selling them until tomorrow opening and now those stores are sold out and lines were waiting for them as the trucks were unloaded.
 
Steve Jobs just resigned as CEO of Apple! Must be because of the TouchPad! :applause::D He can't compete on price, and everyone will see what an overpriced PoS the iPad is!

The Touchstone charger seems really cool but I have to talk myself out of that one lol I will have a plug for the thing it works just as well. Might as well put that 40$ towards something else.


I'll have to check out the folio cases though thanks for reminding me. Are those anything close to what the iPad has? Or are they just cheaper knockoff versions?
 
Yup, to him resigning. Nope to Ipad being a peice of shit. If he wanted to do a firesale too, im sure he could, but there is no need. Big news for Apple though

Anyone order through the glitched HP SMB shopping cart? I ordered 8/22 and just received an Order Confirmation. Does this mean it will ship on the given date (8/28)?

Yup. I unfortunately just found that out as well. A couple locations were only selling 16s. 32s didn't arrive yet.
 
No luck with touchpads so far...but found a mass stock pile of original cases, touchstone chargers, and wireless keyboards. Apparently my area never got the stock amount they were counting on. Any CAG have an extra touchpad and want to make a trade?

No chance on that man. I ordered on the 21st, got confirmation and HP order number. Paid for overnight shipping, and they changed the delivery date from 08/23/11 to unkown. Then it changed to delivery on the 24th. No shipping as of yet, and it's the 24th.


We are guarenteed a Touchpad, they just don't know when and keep changing the shipping date because they have no clue themselves.


I want a refund on my overnight shipping. :cry:

There is no guarantee. If you read the recording carefully it just says for those orders received prior will have shipping charge set to free and "fulfilled" in order they received. So no guarantee if like you were last person to order before Monday 5 AM CST cut off.

I also ordered on 22nd Monday 1 AM and I got order number. Checking status shows expected ship date to be today but nothing's changed.

Stlll no email on order I created on 21st afternoon.
 
FINALLY success. My 1 16GB order from Onsale actually shipped and it'll be delivered tomorrow.

Figured I'd have better luck asking here than slickdeals...where's the best place to get free apps?

Pretty low odds. I am pretty sure whoever has these is going to start limiting the sales to 1 or 2. I am looking for 4 and have 0 so far. Sad thing is i knew about this right when it went live at SD but I didn't think many people would care. I had them in my cart and decided I would get them later... Now I can't even get one.

SD goes crazy over this 100 dollar or 60 dollar chinese knock off Android pads lol

Besides, HP said they were getting stock so there is hope.
 
I got an insight cancellation today, but also got a shipping confirmation from Onsale. I ordered a 16gb as soon as I saw the post for the second restock around 5:30 Eastern. The tracking number isn't working yet and my credit card is still in Pre-approval, so I definitely wouldn't call it a sure thing just yet.

Well now it sounds crazy... I really thought no many people would go crazy over them. I knew it was a good deal but I thought the masses would prefer a tablet with an apple on the back no matter the price. I can't help but wonder how different this would have been if the hoarders hadn't gotten so many of them.
