It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

According to several people on SD (take it for what it's worth), they've had HP CSR's confirm to them on the phone that there will be a limit of one per account.

Yea I was interested in either getting the Archos 70 or 101. Did you get the 250 Gb version? Yea I thought the pest part about the Archos was that it supported a lot Video formats and had HDMI port. Did they ever update software though?

I got the 8GB one as it was the only one in stock for the discounted price. Archos has been putting out updates from time to time, with the last one coming on July 5th (you can see what changed here)

I went to the union city BB and there were at least 100 people in line. Some people were there since 6 am. I like to get good deals but if that takes waiting four hours in line fuck that.

I need two, so I made another account. It'll have all the same name/billing info and same billmelater account, but it will have a different shipping address. I wonder if they'll consider that as a different household.

You can also just press the button on the device or start at the bottom of the screen and swipe your finger in an upward motion. Both actions will 'minimize' the app. To completely close it, just select the app and swipe your finger in another upward motion. Took me forever to figure it out as I had 20+ app windows going when I first started playing with the device.

Honestly, boohoo. Some people are trying to just get one. If you wanted 2, then you should have gone to B&M stores or ordered a bunch before now.
 
HP Twitter chick confirmed there will be no news on Touchpads today, meaning they'll prolly be in tomorrow...Bummer, I'm gonna be out with my gf and friends all night...Hope they dont think it's rude I'll be checking my phone every minute =)

Well my Best Buy sold out......but found out only about 50ish people in line and the employees bought "SOME". This comes from someone I personally know that works there. So I give up because I ain't stressing over this!

Oh man... I have 2 finals tomorrow and I will miss them if they sell them tomorrow.
I called my BB 3 times yesterday and I was told they were out and weren't receiving any more. This morning a friend told me he heard they got some more but by the time I called BB they had already sold out. Best Buy is not handling this like they should. They should straight up tell their customers when they are getting more and that they will probably have to get in line early if they want some. It seems the only people that are getting them are those that are getting tipped off or those that get someone in BB to spill the beans.

They were relieved that none were sold overnight, and they are only speculating that it won't be today because call centers weren't given word about availability. In other words, it doesn't sound like they're in direct contact with the sales department and will probably find out when we do.
 
Anyone who ordered through HP SMB heard anything yet????????????????? ordered Sunday got an acceptance email monday still waiting on freaking confirmation email! Called them and was told I was guaranteed one but that it could take from 2-3 weeks this touchpad craze is getting annoying now!

My credit card charge for HP order vanished. Not good?

Last I checked them I was on August 31st delivery, but still no delivery confirmation #'s on my HP order status.

This is regarding Best Buy

If, like me, you ordered hp folio cases shipped to home using the "entertainment" trick for free shipping you may indeed get your folios.

I just got a tracking number for the order I placed aug 24 11am hawaii time. I ordered 2 folios shipped to home and two accessories for in store pickup.

If you ordered from HP and your credit card doesn't show any charge/hold now, don't sweat it. It just means the normal 3-4 day hold has expired; totally normal. You won't be charged, or show a charge until it ships. Other forums seem to have a lot of chatter saying that at least the HP SMB reps are telling them that it might take a while, but if you got in before that 4 CST Monday timeframe, you'll almost certainly get one.

Also, when you do get one, make sure you do those logging hacks and overclock it ASAP. It makes a hell of a lot difference in terms of performance. It took me 20 minutes to do those steps, and it's like the touchpad just choked down 3 shots of espresso.

i was 1st in line yesterday at curtner best buy in san jose and told that they are oos and not receiving anymore. today at fucking 10am the stock locator shows they have some. by the time i got there today the line was 50+deep and counting. they intially sold 10 to the first 10 people in line and then nothing. after waiting another hour they finally distributed an additional 10 claim flyers and that was it. fml and being first in line on the wrong day.:wall:

Yea the G9 tablets look awesome. I'm would definitely be tempted to get either one around $250 if the reviews are good for them

Damn... I hear ya. I just checked their site and it says both models are available, but I doubt it's still there. Damn vultures.

Request to speak with the manager and possibly point out the employee who told you there would be no more. They completely fucked you over in this case and you should definitely get some sort of compensation after waiting in line.
