It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

im beginning to think the touchstone won't be getting much cheaper then it already is. They're about impossible to find now outside of the 3rd party sellers who are trying to flip them. I tried several places online tonight to get one for the $40 asking price and didnt have any luck.

The bird one is the only one I didn't get. I almost did, but right as I was about to redeem the code, it occurred to me that I don't give half a crap about birds or listening to their calls, and I decided to leave the code available for someone out there who does.

I was a little upset about the app situation. I saw the blog today at work when I got home they were already sold out. I know they were free and all and I almost feel like I dont have the right to complain but I was a little frustrated.
 
Well it took forever but I finally got the software update to download and install.

the trick is to throw away the card when it says download failed.. throw away the card and re-load the update and it will continue the download from where it stopped.

I had no issues downloading when I got home but when I was trying on the work's wifi...my goodness was that horrible.
 
the touchstone just went back in stock at amazon with free shipping. Its $56, same price as HP's website. Since these were selling out I decided to go ahead and order one now instead of taking the chance that I won't be able to get one later.
 
I failed at a Touchpad case at 4 stores tonight. Walmart wouldn't price match anyone without a 'newspaper ad' (gargle my balls, walmart), even though their policy says "local price". Staples lied and said they had them in stock, when all they really had was Touchstones and Keyboards for $50 and $40, respectively. The BB douche laughed, then tried to sell me an iPad, despite the tracker saying they had them.

Oh well...not tonight!

My touchpad won't even connect to my works wi fi.. something about the encription not compatible with the touchpad... alot of people are reporting the same issues.

Well I am officially getting at least one of my four. My Onsale was cancelled but my 3 from HP SMB are still in limbo. My HP academy should be on my doorstep by tuesday. I already got my paper.......
 
Would be nice to spawn off a new thread for people who already have a TouchPad to chat about apps/etc so those of us who are still trying to find one can just get deal-related news. It's hard to go through so many pages just to get caught up on what's going on.

check what you are using b/g/n. I had my router on 802.11n only and my touchpad wasn't connecting. Changed it to 802.11g and it connected.

I can't switch my router at work because I do not work in IT.

This dosen't happen with my iphone or my co workers android phone so it shouldn't happen with this thing..
 
Went to Walmart to get my 2 HP cases plus 1 Touchstone Charger matched. Used the Best Buy print outs from their site to match.

A few things to note (YMMV of course):

1) They would only match 1 of each. I told her ok I'll just come back another time to adjust or return the other one. My honesty was apparently hilarious.

2) I originally bought them from Walmart on the 24th. The Best Buy print out was from the 26th. She questioned whether Best Buy had them on sale on the 24th and I didnt understand what she had asked at first and she just kind of forgot about it. (Though yes they were on sale at BB on the 24th)

3) Stupidly, after the refund for one of each was complete I asked in passing if they price matched their own site. She said no as I figured. However, her manager overheard and said that as of a couple days ago they do match their own online prices. I had already processed the return and there was a line so I basically just let it go but I could have saved another $11 on the case/charger had I known. Maybe I'll go back in a day or two and give it a shot.

I wanted one so I could type papers using Google Doc, I would think if the demand is high they would easily make more...
 
I got all 3 accessories from BB online store came out to be $91...so $40 Touchstone, $35 keyboard, $16 for case..lol...also got one wireless keyboard from amazon when it was $40 but im returning it.

I got the case and touchstone coming but for some reason I can't bring myself to buy the keyboard. I don't think I'm going to use this thing as a pure laptop substitute so I should be ok with the virtual keyboard. If I need to do heavy typing I'll just jump on my laptop..

I think whats going on is that HP has orders that its going to try to fill so it will make only enough to fill those orders, then once those are gone were all SOL.
 
My laptop 17" so i cant carry to campus so the keyboard is needed if i wanna actually write paper, however im hoping they will release an Office app that doesnt require internet

Those are not a TP. All my devices worked too, but my TP. Just letting you know what fixed it for me. Even though this devices is suppose to support 802.11n
 
Man all I really want is one! Sucks to see people get 5+ just to flip :bomb:. Went to 3 different best buys in the IE this morning and they all confirmed that they were done getting shipment & i heard that basically there are no more in stock in Cali at all. Ordered from BN.com, howardcomputers.com, the HP SMB yet they are canceled (or in the process of getting canceled) & tried to get an order with Aaron's. Anyone out here in So. Cali still trying to get one? I guess my last resort is hoping that ebay prices go down under $200 or a fellow CAG can help me out! :bouncy:
