Hulu Plus Coming to xbox 360

Yeah, it's a TV service. Still hard to justify paying for it over Netflix since Netflix has so many shows streaming and disc rentals for everything else.

I guess maybe it would be worth it for people who want to watch current shows around airing and don't have TV service of any kind I suppose.

But having DirecTV and Netflix myself, I can't see any reason to pay for Hulu Plus personally.
Its likely the studios contracts with their advertisers; they have to guarantee that whenever the content is delivered to a TV, their ad will be shown.
Dont they know how easy it is to hook a pc up to a tv now? not that hard, one of them half hdmi/dvi(forget the exact name) will do. then just plug in the sound with whatever options are on your sound card and you're set(i do mine the revise with an optical into my pc since my pc has a better sound system). but heck i been using a 40 inch hdtv as my monitor for the past year hehe.
Yeah, the selection is ass. I was bored Friday and pulled this together. It's my entire TiVo Season Pass list cross checked with Hulu:

These shows are not on Hulu+ and/or relegated to 1-2 episodes on Hulu Free(i.e. won't work with the xbox):

Fringe
C.S.I.
Hawaii Five-0
Chuck
Big Bang Theory
Smallville
Community
Mr. Sunshine
Human Target
Happy Endings
How I Met Your Mother
Burn Notice
White Collar
The Walking Dead
Men of a Certain Age
Sanctuary
Mythbusters
Sports Show with Norm Macdonald
Phineas & Ferb
Fish Hooks

Only 4 showed up on Hulu+, albeit with limitations:

Modern Family - 5 current episodes (all s2 episodes on Hulu Free)
Friday Night Lights - 4 current episodes (all of s.4, and episodes 11-15 of s.1 ) *should be noted it's already on DVD and kinda pointless for this one.
Glee - complete current season
The Office - complete current season

So out of 24 Primetime(more or less) shows there are a whopping two shows that have all the current episodes available on H+. Granted Hulu is basically 3 channels and even then there are still shows on those channels that are M.I.A.
CBS/WB shows aren't on Hulu at all as CBS/CW are the two networks that didn't go in on Hulu. Of course they're all going to be unavailable, it does suck. Just makes me have to wait until BB/Target put the shows on sale and causes me to be behind on them (at end of season 2 on Big Bang, halfway done with season 9 of Smallville, and haven't seen any episode outside of the premier of HIMYM this season.)

USA shows aren't going to be on Hulu/Netflix anymore unless they pay a ton of money to the network, see AMC's deal with Netflix for Mad Men. It's going to be harder and harder for ANY pay cable shows to be seen outside of buying episodes/season passes on ITunes/Zune/PSN as cable providers are pissed that so many people are leaving them for Netflix/Hulu (Netflix now has more subscribers than Comcast.)

Don't have an excuse for the ABC, Fox, NBC shows not to be on there though. It's what going to keep me from paying for Hulu Plus outside the first month.

Here's my queue on there:
Heroes (only on season 2)
Yugioh GX (last 9 episodes of season 3)
Detroit 187
No Ordinary Family
Flash Forward
The Event
The Cape
Ikki Tousen
Queen's Blade
The Chicago Code
Legend of the Seeker
Rookie Blue
My Generation

Also I'll probably watch some Family Guy and see if Glee is on there as I've never seen it and always wanted to try it (I did plays in high school.) I guess outside of Chuck and CBS/CW shows, there's plenty for me on there currently.

Instructions for cancelling, taken directly from the terms of service:

It is very important to understand that you will not receive a notice from Hulu that your free trial subscription has ended or that your paying subscription has begun. If you wish to avoid charges to your Payment Method, you must cancel Hulu Plus prior to midnight Eastern Time on the last day of your free trial period. You can cancel your account by going to Your Account, choosing to "edit" your subscription under "Billing Information" and clicking on the "cancel" option. We will continue to bill your Payment Method on a monthly basis for your subscription plan until you cancel or the account or service is otherwise suspended or discontinued pursuant to these Terms. You may cancel your subscription at anytime. To the extent Hulu Plus subscriptions are offered in conjunction with purchases of, or payment for, third party products or services, you agree that Hulu will not be liable to you for any claims arising out of or related to your purchase or use of such third party products or services.

so is it possible for me to pay for Hulu Plus and have multiple devices on the account with 2 people being able to watch 2 different things at the same time? Say I watch the office at my house and a friend wants to watch 30 rock at his, both of signed in to xbl at the same time will that work? If it's only 1 device @ a time then forget about it.

It doesn't matter. Contracts are all about which devices Hulu, as a company, can send their data to. How customers tweak their setups is outside of the contract.

I've no idea how easy it is. No clue as to what hardware you'd need, if my tv is capable of doing it, or anything else about it. Plus my pc is in another part of the house.

While I do get Netflix, for current new tv/movies I just download the videos daily, and stream them to my xbox or ps3. Easy as pie

I do this.

Will they be charging through Xbox Live's service instead of billing you like Netflix? I mean, I didn't actually give any of my CC info to Hulu when I set up an account, they never asked for it.

No, that's only for the free month.

Your 1 week FREE trial can easily become an almost 2 week FREE trial (still no credit card required). Today is the ending date for activating your 1 week FREE trial -- which is why I'm posting this now.

http://www.hulu.com/plus/unlock

Just create a 2nd Hulu+ account at the website and use a another e-mail. Name, State, ZIP -- you can conceivably just make something up. :)

Not sure how it would work with 2 FREE trial accounts and trying to cancel one before your free trial is over -- or if that would be necessary.

Anyway, I already have a paid Hulu+ account that was about to be billed tomorrow -- 5/7.

What I did was just canceled that account today and that locked me out of using Hulu+ on my 360. When I next signed on to XBL/Hulu+ I was greeted with the login screen.

I just logged on with the newest 1 week FREE trial I created just today. So I have another week to go. :) ...no charge since I didn't give them any CC payment info.

I believe you just have to login thru your Xbox/Hulu+ before midnight. It may not work to create the account today and try logging on tomorrow. Link them today just to be safe.

*Remember, your FREE 1 week trial can be linked to either a GOLD or SILVER Xbox Live account!

BUFFERING BUFFERING BUFFERING BUFFERING

I was really excited for Hulu on 360. I guess a lot of people are having problems with this.

Netflix works great for me, why can't you, Hulu?

I'm on the fence with Hulu. On one hand it'd certainly help in getting me a few shows that I can't get OTA if I were to cancel cable, but I don't know that I actually get $8 worth of stuff...

its hit or miss with Hulu, at least i can stay current with Grey's Anatomy and Cougar Town. Sometimes it buffers a lot and other times its golden. And i can watch SNL which NetFlix removed.

Just wish Fringe and Naruto Shippinden weren't just web only and then why show me what i can watch.

I like hulu and was excited about hulu plus coming to xbox 360 but I am disappointed at the amount of web only content. I think I will just continue to stream regular hulu to my 360 for now and hope the content library increased. Media companies are starting to embrace Netflix and maybe they will see the value in Hulu as well.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that nearing the end of my 1 week FREE Trial which is tomorrow, I was able to get my 1 month FREE. I thought they would only extend my 1 week into a month which would have only ADDED on some extra time -- i.e. 3 1/2 weeks to make it a full month.

I now have a billing date of June 14th.

So it looks like I was able to "stack" the free week with 1-month = 5 weeks. :)

I'm dissappointed with the amount of online only stuff like Human Target and Chase, but I think I'll keep this a month or two to watch a few things. Already watched both seasons of The Invisible Man, awesome early SciFi show. Jack of All Trades is on there and Firefly which everyone raves about. Episode one was pretty awesome. It's been helpful for a couple shows which accidentally got deleted from our DirecTV Tivo, like The Event and No Ordinary Family, but after Firefly and Arrested Development I think it's a goner for me. Not good enough to replace Directv if I'm going to be missing Burn Notice, The Closer, Memphis Beat, and others.

Hulu+ sucks! Cancelled my subscription and everything I wanted to watch on there ended up being on Netflix anyways which are Kevin Smith movies (chasing amy, clerks and others). Netflix has the hold right now for instant streaming and don't see any competition anytime soon.

Naruto Shippudden is now available for instant stream
was getting my fix last night

now we just need fringe to join them
too many shows are web only
i want my syfy shows on there and all seasons

Hulu plus has been a like a one night stand for me. Abuse it then lose it. Caught all the way up with One Piece. Then I'll start watching Monster and maybe a few more shows then cancel my subscription.
Noticed Mr Bean and a bunch of movies I hadn't seen on there before like Reservoir Dogs, From Dusk Till Dawn.
They just signed a deal with Miramax.
