Not really Garry's Mod itself, but you can play one of the mods, such as Trouble in Terrorist Town, Prop Hunt, DarkRP, or ReDead. There are a bunch more too, but these are some of the more popular ones.

You really should have as many Source games as possible if you want to use the sandbox mode. Otherwise, CSS and TF2 should be enough (although the HL2s would be good to have too as their assets are used occasionally in some of the modes.)

$4.13 for me...  Sad but true but I think that's the cheapest BTA I've ever gotten...  The evils of having to sleep when they launch.

I actually, have a bunch of the titles (Magicka + DLC; Natural Selection 2; Garry's Mod) but the others (and hopefully the bonus) still make it a good deal. :) 

Two questions

1) Does anyone know what DLC is included with Magicka?  *I own most but not all.

2) What are peoples thoughts on the weekly...  I actually own none of those.

I think he means "disappointed" in the sense that the $1 min no longer gets you the bonus games like it did in the past. These days you need to BTA to get the bonuses:

"More games coming soon! Pay more than the average of $4.12 to unlock them when they arrive!"

I actually really enjoyed Dungeon Defenders at the time it was released. No idea what the community is like now though as Trendy was trying very hard to ruin the game. Still, it can be a pretty enjoyable solo experience at lower levels.

I don't think of Defense Grid as a hardcore TD at all! In fact, I find it very accessible and quite forgiving with the rewind feature and slow rollout. Simply put, Defense Grid is a fantastic, well-polished game.

For $5 more bucks you're getting good stuff.

Having said that, Defense Grid has been on sale for $2.49 (without DLC - which you DO want) and Dungeon Defenders has been $2.99 (vanilla) and both have been bundled.

At least check out both of the games on Youtube to get a sense for what they are before you decide.

I have to seriously disagree with this. I tried getting into Dungeon Defenders but unless you're playing co-op, it takes a ridiculously-long time to get the levels jiggered up properly. I played one game where it literally took me a half-hour of real time to finish a level. This is not a game that is meant for single-play. It's meant for at least 2-4 people. It's a shame because I hate other people and DD looks like something I might enjoy otherwise.

DD is a 'smoother' experience in co-op and it can take a bit long to set up levels solo but... it's still perfectly playable as such.  Of course there are other flaws with the game.  And I do agree as far as the weekly goes I'd just throw $1 in -- the base games are good.  Dungeon Defenders has run its course and the sequel is coming out within a year.  Defense Grid is okay... one of the old Steam stalwarts but nothing particularly amazing and you can usually buy it for 80% off during most major sales.
