Humble Bundle Thread

Click Team's Facebook painted the picture that this Humble is happening only because they released the new program and MMF2 is irrelevant. They won't sell it anymore after this bundle ends.
Makes sense from their perspective, I guess. Take an obsolete piece of software and wring a few more dollars out of it by getting some gullible people to try it out, thinking they're getting the bargain of a lifetime, and then let them know that a) by the way, if you want to actually use this tool, you'll need to spend a bunch more money and b) we don't even support what you have anymore, so if you have any issues, tough. It's actually a bit sleazy, frankly, but I guess Humble is scrounging around, trying to figure out ways to maintain this weekly schedule.

It's a good thing I was only in this for Manos and the soundtracks or I'd be annoyed.

What the hell.. what's the point of having a Multimedia Fusion bundle then.

BTW they have an "upgrade plan" if you have the original MMF2. Maybe that was their plan all along.

Uh, no. Actually if you read the whole thing you just linked the dev says that the Humble version can't be upgraded (maybe they just posted that response?).

I have mentioned in the past that several of Humble's recent offerings are nothing more than base games "sold" just so the publishers and devs make a killing from the DLC.

Just look at Humble Paradox Bundle. How much damn DLC does Crusader Kings II have on its own? And the Pinball FX one, which did give a good amount of content but still left out a lot.
This is a bit different from what's happening here. What you're describing is a perfectly legitimate marketing strategy because those games make most of their money from DLC sales anyway. This borders on a bait-and-switch tactic.

First they said the MMF2 from Humble Bundle is not the upgradable version. An hour later, they changed their mind and Humble buyers can get CF2.5 for the upgrade price of $39.99. The upgrade can be done here.

My bet is on Monaco.  Huge discount in the last sale, plus I still have a giftable copy sitting in my inventory, so that's like double bundle onus.

That is precisely what I managed to avoid doing despite Mooby's advice to the contrary. I think I should get like a CAG gold star or something. Then again, why do I even buy any games when this FTP crap Marvel Puzzle Quest is all I play anymore, with Paths of Exile next in queue...

Well at least CiM 2 will have CiM 1 to keep it company in the backlog.
Actually I'm pretty sure I got CiM 2 in an IR. I'm actually playing OMD 1 right now (not literally, I mean it's one of the three games I'm currently playing along with that Marvel match-3 game and Skyrim) and I already have Sanctum 1, so

then this has been a pretty spectacular hb for you
I don't have any either. It got updated, and I kept assuming I had each game, doing a double take when I didn't.

*edit*

Oh wait, I DID have a Serious Sam 3, but I really can't complain about at.

bleh, this sneaky new Steam redemption method fucked me all up. My browser had me signed in to the wrong Steam account and instead of getting the code as expected, it simply redeemed it to that wrong account. And I'm pretty sure they won't give me a replacement for the correct account.

OK, lack of communication aside, I'll bite the bullet. So instead of complaining to them I just spent another buck to get second copies of the codes. And, to no surprise, I get an e-mail saying the transaction won't be processed for seven days...which is what I'm assuming to be the amount of time I'll have to wait to get the codes.

Super frustrating...nothing humble about this transaction.

email them explaining what happened. i'd be shocked if they didnt push that through for you

Awesome, I have absolutely no games from the newly added games. Maybe Garry's Mod (but no clue). This is great for people who are not often buying steam games. ^_^

Only game I wanted was Orcs 2. And now they added Orcs 1. Happy with this bundle.

Cities In Motion was strangely addicting to me so I'm looking forward to trying out the second one.  It had appeared in a bundle before, but with a bunch of other junk I didn't want so I'm glad holding out paid off to some degree.

How sad would that be to be CIM 1? Sitting there for months and months... "Need a game? Hrm? Just finished that shooter... how about a light city sim? No? Maybe after that RPG...?"

Then one day CIM 2 is next to you. "Son of a bitch."
