So pretty much a series that will take forever to finish the trilogy and a lot of Power Rangers of which I read a few volumes. It's alright but not amazing or anything for what I read. Still well illustrated and entertaining enough.

I like Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (by which I mean the original three seasons), and while I haven’t read the comics, everything I’ve seen seems to indicate that it’s pretty wildly different tonally. Anyone have experience with both? Can you confirm or deny?

Playing some more of those Lego games, and The Lego Movie game required a config edit to play. 2 works out of the box, but don't like the structure so far. The Harry Potter games, both worked without messing with, but 2 has massive stutter problems on entering new areas and some game breaking glitches if you don't restart. Lego Incredibles worked great for the most part, but one random crash. TT has quality control issues.

I felt The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear were great reads. Sadly it looks like the third book in the trilogy is forever stuck in limbo. I still recommend the first two though, they're long but good.
Rothfuss v. Martin

Who will disappoint their fans the most? One farts around, near death, after seeing their work crash and burn in Dolby Vision 4K; the other holds pity parties while misleading fans to donate to charity.

A real douche-off for the history books.

Honestly, their console versions had bugs pretty much every game because they used the same engine for like 20 years. I believe they finally updated the engine.

Another update. Lego Ninjago crashes on the title screen. Gonna look for a fix. Edit: after repeated crashes, I went to the config file, changed to 3840x2160, 60hz, and locked my monitor to 60hz in nvidia control panel. So far so good. Another update: goddamn, this port is trash. On location 3 and it keeps crashing at this one spot. Rushing past enemies seems to help sometimes, although the combat is one of the better parts of the game. Finally finished it, probably had at least a couple dozen crashes (the ones during cutscenes were the most annoying). One of the worst PC experiences I've had.

Lego The Hobbit wouldn't start without a config edit, but managed to complete it with zero crashes. LOTR worked without any config edits and no crashes throughout. A couple glitches involving a certain character falling through the sky for awhile during the second act, but returned to normal gameplay without crashing.

Yep, same here. Wasn't it an Epic giveaway?
Okay, I just checked and I do have it in my Epic library and I've never bought anything from that store.
I don't want anything else from this bundle, so another hard pass.

Probably one of the weakest Choice in a while. Think this one barely gets a pass from me for Guardians (have it free I believe). Coral Island and Lost Eidolons are a high want and some okay barely there want with Guardians make this barely passable for me. I hope future Choices are much better than this and last month.

What a month of hot garbage. Guardians of the Galaxy has been on gamepass for a long time and was an epic freebie.

For some reason they keep throwing in middling "survival" games as if the market isn't incredibly oversaturated with them already. Not worth the time to play a 7/10 game that will require a huge time investment when there are more than enough 9/10 games in the genre to keep anyone busy.

Astrea is very good. I bought that on my own last year. An actual different spin on roguelike deckbuilders that feels fresh and works well.

This will be a keeper for me. I don't own GotG yet, as I don't really do Epic. Stranded looks interesting, as do Astrea, Lost Eidolons, and Coral Island for the chill. The rest pretty much looks like crapola.

I kind of grew to dislike Astrea and ended up beating it, but I wasn't having fun anymore and left it at a 6/10 overall (barely average game). It was part of that old Deck builders bundle on Humble which had a bunch of meh and worse deck builders in it.

Kind of a shitty month for me. Lost Eidolons looks great but everything else… meh. I played Cosmic Shake and despite it being hyped up as a follow up to the genuine classic Battle for Bikini Bottom, it’s a completely different and ultimately boring game. Instead of a fun little throwback 3D platformer collectethon, it’s a linear level-based game with an emphasis on mindless button-mashing combat and *stealth* (🤮). Not fun at all but the graphics and story are charming at least I guess. Guardians doesn’t run on steam deck so not even going to bother with it, and everything else is just so niche and not what I’m into. Maybe Astrea is ok??

And wtf is this epic games alpha playtest key?? This shit is worse than the useless discount codes they keep stuffing in these bundles. I don’t want Epic Games trash in my humble choice and if this becomes a trend then I won’t renew even with that yearly $99 discounted rate.

There are eight games in a Choice bundle. The Rue Valley thing was just an extra that they sometimes offer.

Anyway, I instantly redeemed one of my credits for this. There were three games on my wishlist including one that I loved playing on Game Pass and definitely wanted my own copy of (Coral Island). I will probably give away Infraspace and definitely You Suck at Parking since I already own that.

Yeah I played a demo of it last year I think and it didn't grab me. I dont remember if I got guardians on epic but I've not played it. INfraspace I played a demo of in steam fest awhile back and enjoyed it and I've wanted Stranded and Eidelon. So, not a bad month for me.

$4 Tier

Death and Taxes
Genesis Noir
Suzerain

1000XResist! - COUPON 25% OFF
Suzerain - Kingdom of Rizia - COUPON 20% OFF

I think this bundle suffers from quite a few being rebundles. I know I own 4 of these alone from previous bundles (generally more expensive bundles at least like choice bundles). I own A Space for the Unbound on PS4/5, but still may get the higher tier for it on Steam. I really liked that demo, but haven't played the full game yet. I played the 1000xResist! demo a while back too and it was okay, but wow is that game super highly regarded right now. I didn't see it, but maybe they cleaned it up quite a bit after I played the demo. I wish that was in the upper tier instead which would make it an easy buy.

Only want Coral Island… anyone want to trade for Street Fighter V - Champion Edition, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, or Dead Rising 2?

Remember when the Sakura games were the raciest thing on Steam and the trading cards were worth more than the games cost? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Humble Steamier Sakura Special

Tier 1 is a rebundle at a lower price. Pretty sure the only game in all of this that isn't just a visual novel is Sakura Dungeon which has been bundled quite a few times.

Yeah the Sakura games had a lot more clout early on. Now they're just visual novels with okay visuals and maybe not the best stories (I have only played 2). I may still get this one, but they should have done it opposite with a bottom tier with newer stuff, and a top part for older games, but Humble will always rebundle old stuff and put it at the bottom unless it was in a Choice bundle. For those curious it is missing 3 newer games (Succubus 9, Isekai Adventure 1/2) and the future Sakura Alien 3. Most of the games have 18+ patches found on Wingcloud's Patreon. There is a Steam Page, but it's missing newer links which I have put below.

Leveling Up Girls In Another World 18+ Patch
Sakura Alien 2 18+ Patch
Sakura Bunny Girls 18+ Patch
Sakura Gym Girls 18+ Patch
Sakura Melody 18+ Patch
Sakura Succubus VII 18+ Patch
Sakura Succubus VIII 18+ Patch

Yeah these are some of the most often rebundled games for sure. I believe Humble has done 5 of these Sakura bundles in all. This one is especially good if you skipped the last one since I believe it has all that plus newer games.

Yet more comic bundles are here.

I have experience with two titles in this one being Ice Cream Man and I Hate Fairyland, which I thought were both decent for the 1 volume TPB I read. I didn't see Ice Cream Man Vol. 6 in this, but it says it in the bundle page (currently missing from the downloads).

Ragnarock is soo good. Most fun I've had in any VR game. Drank a few beers last October and did some very intense drumming in the game, and my shoulder has still not fully recovered 🤣

I Bought that THQ bundle awhile back and one of the Saints Row games was out of codes at the time and took a little over a week before it showed up as ready to redeem.
I'm still waiting on Company of Heroes 2 DLC, I think. Been months since I tried to send it to someone.

I've heard good things about Thumper. Might check out that bundle.

Just finished Lego City Undercover. I remember hearing how terrible of a port it was, and that may be true, never tried launching it by itself but by putting MAXFPS 0 in launch options on Steam and using Special K it worked perfectly to the end on Windows 11 without crashes. I didn't have a framerate counter on, but didn't notice any stuttering or slowdown. The only time it was less than 3840x2160 was during the pre-rendered cutscenes. Still haven't played the Marvel, Jurassic World, and the last three DC games, but probably the best of the Lego games I've played thus far.

Here we go yet another Warhammer 40k eBook collection bundle with this one focusing on Space Marines to go with the release of Space Marine 2, although this should be called an encore bundle. This is an exact repeat of Tales of the Space Marine Chapters 2022 by Black Library, except Angels of Darkness is the 20th anniversary edition in this bundle.

They made massive improvements to the port with patches within the first few months of release, it still had issues but it made a huge difference with some things like load times in particular which were horrible when it first came out. Its still my favorite of all of them and the one I came closest to getting 100% completion since the original Lego Star Wars on the DS.

Undercover was a real breath of fresh air and I liked it a lot. The two best superhero games are LEGO Marvel and LEGO DC Supervillians.

I'm just finishing up LEGO Movie Videogame and I'm really pleased with it. If you like the original movie, it has a lot of that humor and tons of characters from the movie, including voice acting, but the story is completely different. Morgan Freeman is so good with his deadpan delivery. It's short too, which is not entirely a bad thing by LEGO game standards. I've finished the story at about 11.5 hours. That includes a fair amount of exploration.
