Humble Bundle Thread

People are selling Mad Max for $5 in the trade/sell thread if you do not want to buy the next monthly.
Even though I do check the Cesspool a lot, maybe I should check it more often.

EDIT:

it would be typical but his posts are typically worse than most everyone elses.....i I like that ilostmybrother (lostnumber) guys posts more than his
That's what the ignore feature is for.

But of course, I'm sure you do need something to complain about and/or post about...

What is this Paypal Friends and Family crap? Everyone should accept the universal currency -- Amazon credit.
MysterD accepts Paypal F+F or Amazon Credit.

I tend to like both currencies.

Hmmm; maybe I should accept BioWare Points at some point (for DLC's for ME2+3 and DA2), as well...

How is that possible when they sell EVERYTHING!
Once they raised Prime, the free shipping limit w/o Prime, and regularly started missing the 2day window, who fucking needs 'em? Not to mention many states (mine included) not require them to collect sales tax.

I get more irritated by the 1 day option that you pay extra for and then have your item sit in their warehouse for 2 days...

Meh, I get more than my value from prime and don't think I've ever had something lapse past the two-day delivery window.

I have had prime missing its 2 day shipping window a couple times, but it doesn't happen often. Even if they miss the window you at the very least get your stuff sooner than if you didn't use the 2 day shipping. But prime is an absolute steal if you utilize its other features; i canceled netflix and just use the prime tv service, prime also has a huge kindle library that you can check out two books for free per month from. Netflix by itself is 96 a year at the cheapest plan, so add a kindle library and free shipping to that and really it's a great deal.

Well I do live in a major city and don't order obscure items like animu hug pillows.  And yeah the Prime Video is a nice added feature.  Shipping-wise I probably get around 100 items a year or more from them.

I'm gone for three and a half months, and you two STILL haven't worked out your sexual tensions? Crap on a boat.

Every time Mooby doesn't hate something, a puppy dies. Also a google image search for dead puppies is way more depressing than I thought it would be, I mean, Jesus.

Don't forget Amazon Music. It's an awesome edition also. (Granted, I don't listen too much so their selection always seems good to me.)

Speaking of streaming... The second season of Bosch was released last month. It was really good.

is Prime TV comparable to Netflix?

I don't buy much from Amazon so Netflix has the better value for me. Plus the exclusives are way better. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, and I think Luke Cage is coming in September + The Defenders and Iron Fist will eventually come to Netflix.

The only Amazon exclusive I've seen is The Man in the High Castle, which starts out pretty good but goes nowhere fast. Might get better in the 2nd season though.

Amazon is good as a jack of all trades kind of deal, but Netflix is the better video streaming service.

If Prime included Audible, I'd be all over that shit but as it is I don't really see much appeal in Prime even with the video (though I will say, their movie selection (at least of new ones) is pretty damn impressive compared). If I bought more stuff on Amazon I'd probably be more into Prime.

It seems Netflix will make a Punisher one too. But not tied to the Defenders.

Not really. It is quite 2nd tier compared to Netflix. I have access to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon atm. Netflix is the best. Hulu is good, especially if you value the criterion stuff. Amazon I only really watch for the couple things they have which are exclusive.

Some people that cut the cord per se have all 3 streaming services; Netflix, Hulu and Amazon. Amazon has some TV shows that netflix does not have ie The Wire, Suits, Extant, Grimm. Amazon also will include with Prime access to movies (at no cost to stream) that Netflix does not carry (or at least for a while) i.e. HUnger Games, Interstellar. While both Amazon and Netflix have originals, a person's taste will dictate which they like better i.e. see Spoder's post as some of us generally gravitate towards the Daredevil/Marvel/superhero type.

Hulu is great to have if you like to stay current with TV on your time. The streaming services have made it to where if you have good internet, you do not need a DVR, but having a DVR is great.

Having access to downloadable books is also a draw for me with Prime, but it also helps to have a tablet i.e. Kindle/Fire.

Also worth noting you can share Prime with a couple of family members. My mother and brother use mine
But you don't get the TV Prime stuff if you are a leecher, however as most others noted above this is really no big loss.

I'm kind of annoyed that these shows are starting to splinter among streaming services. Like I know I will begrudgingly have to sub to that CBS one when the new Star Trek comes out.

I'd get Prime if it included Kindle Unlimited, as i'm already paying $10/month for that.  Probably would be worth dropping the netflix sub though, since I rarely even watch the stuff i'm interested in.

I thought Amazon changed that recently so that if you're in a family you get to share prime video.

I share Prime with my dad, and I still can't watch Prime stuff through my account. Maybe the primary account needs to change some sort of settings, though, I dunno. I don't mess around with it, myself.

Yeah, you have to specifically set up a prime household. The benefits can only be shared by two adults and in order to cut back on abuse, when you set up a household you have to agree to also share payment methods, meaning the other person could potentially use your credit card to make orders. So if you are leeching like many do with friends then you probably don't want to do that. You and your dad should be fine though.

Also important to note, you can only be part of one Amazon household every six months so if you leave a household or boot someone you have to wait six months to create our join another.

That sounds not worth it to me. I just got my dad's login and used that on the one device I wanted Amazon streaming on. Seems like a better solution than me having constant access to his CC and him having constant access to mine. Not that either of us would intentionally do anything but mistakes happen.

Before the whole Prime household thing, they let people share Prime with up to 4 other people without the need to share payment methods (the other 4 got limited benefits). If Prime was shared with you before they added the household sharing limited to 2 people only, you won't get the Prime video benefits - you'll only get free shipping, early access to some lightning deals and Prime Day, 20% off new releases, and I'm not sure what else.

If you're still in a grandfathered group of 5 and the primary member removes you, they won't be able to add you back or anyone to replace your spot.

Yeah, they changed it to the detriment of friends and acquaintances, but to the benefit of real families. My wife and I can now share one prime account with almost full prime benefits which is nice.

Amazon's really become a scummy company. They've got that full-on "too big to fail" mentality, so I'll be pleased to see their stock drop like a rock. Bound to happen with that new $50 FSSS threshold they've got going. Disgusting.

I know this is offtopic for the Amazon Prime discussion thread but do you think we get 1 game bundle this week or 2? With the way Humble has been recently I am kinda thinking 1.

Also RIPORTED for not sticking to the topic of Amazon Prime.
