I looked at their website and they look like they got come cool things happening. How is their selection of classic games (last couple generations)? Also how do you compare them to Gamestop?
I want to start shopping at Game Crazy...

Most I've went to have a decent selection of Dreamcast games, a small collection of PS1, and no N64 games. They always stocked plenty of the last gen and this gen's games.
Their customer service is the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE between them and GameStop. Their employees have always been amazingly knowledgable and kind, and they have they usually always have an awesome little bin of this gen games that're B2G1. They rarely have good trade deals, but they promise a higher trade value than anyone else, IIRC. One thing that may be a detractor is that they will not let you return a used game unless there's something wrong with it, so no "renting" like at GS. They even gave me problems when I tried to return a used copy of Virtua Fighter 5 that I got for my bday (I already had it).

They shouldnt have any (much) classic stuff anymore. They clearanced everything pre-last gen out ages ago.
You picked a bad time to want to start shopping there, since the stores that are still open are dwindling fast.

Yeah, I haven't seen any decent PS1/DC/N64 or older stuff there in years. All they have left are a bunch of sports games.
And I can't say I'll miss them. Their selection, game condition, game contents (manual/case), and special offers all fall short of GameStop. Of course, they're great for a few rare gems here and there, since they don't jack up prices like crazy based on eBay.

Unfortunately you're about 2 years too late. Very few places even have Game Crazy's that are open any more because of Movie Gallery/Hollywood Video's financial problems.
You may want to PM Scorch as he was a Game Crazy manager and still has contacts to see about the deals, but they won't have anything before PS2 in their stores anymore.
Oh and a Game Crazy can be a bad place as well, see some of my blog posts (had to file 2 MO Attorney General complaints against my local one that close the Friday before the ODST launch.)

They also basically copied GS with the "get rid of all OG Xbox games" strategy. So if your looking for stuff that GS won't have, then they aren't the place. At the same time though, they do tend to have higher trade in values, so there's always the chance you can find some uncommon PS2/GC stuff since the person would have perfered making $3 instead of $.50 at GS.

Gamecrazy was better a few years back with the "Classic Plastic" sales where every console from Dreamcast on back was around 3 for $10. Man, so many games during that time...
I have actually found alot of current gen older limited edition and premuim edition games that have been long gone everywhere else in example last week i found Prince of persia limited PS3 for 29.99 and Assassians creed PS3 limited 39.99 all Sealed. Then i went to another and got Gears of war 1 limited collectors SEALED 29.99.

Yeah, I liked GameCrazy, too. Their people, sales associates & managers alike, has always been much more personable and down-to-earth. In my area, something like 5 locations closed, and only 2 remained.
btw, I want to go shopping at Circuit City, too. (sorry, had to get that in there)

The place started going to hell about two years ago when upper management changed hands.. that's why you saw classic plastic deals, the phasing out of it altogether, and pretty much copying GS's tactics (fun fact: the first game to EVER be $17.99 used at GC was Stuntman Ignition on 360/PS3. It was always a rule of thumb that if a game was $20 new, it'd be $15 used. They tried out the $54.99 used on some extremely popular games, I think GTA4 was the first, but ultimately gave up when it didn't really work that well).
No stores have anything pre-PS2 anymore. 99.9% of GBA games have been phased out as well. PS2 is starting to go, with values lowering every day.
The biggest perk of shopping there is, of course, special orders. If there's something you're looking for, you can special order it. Most of the extremely rare stuff can't be special ordered, but most games can.
Oh, and if you're a new customer, wait about two weeks before going - there's a deal coming up where if you're a new customer and trade in 3 (any 3) 360, PS3 or Wii games, you get a free MVP membership for a year.

Man, the local GameCrazy near me closed down. Disappointing. Absolutely loved going there compared to having to deal with the cocky asshats at the local GameStop.
Actually, now that I think about it, GameCrazy closed and a flood took out one of the GameStops, so I don't really have anywhere to go that's convenient anymore...crap.

I really wish gamecrazy was a larger chain. They have good pre order items sometimes, I never feel pushed by the people there, the salesman dont act like cocky douchebags and the companies policies are alot better than like lamestop.
Sadly they closed the one by me, but then again it literally had 3 gamestops around it within 4 minute walking distance. One right next to it, one in the shopping complex behind it and one in the mall across the street. Actually have a 4th one about 1 1/2 miles away as well so they ran them out of business.

Too be honest. Compared to the Edge card, that's the price they should be charging for the MVP program.

As others have said you've waited too long to start shopping there. All the Gamecrazys in my area are going under as we speak if not closed up all the way. Your best bet is to look online and see if there is a local Play N Trade in your area. They don't have the largest selection of old stuff but it depends on each store in my opinion. Also look online for possible mom and pop retro game stores and visit each one. See how they are and what the prices are between them. Found a nice spot where I just nabbed Zelda: A Link to the Past and Starfox for the Super Nintendo boxed complete for $20 total. Good luck in your search for retro goodness.
