Finished two and a half worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3D. The dropping/switching between characters is getting annoying though. I know you can slow down the drop rate with potions, but 'm a hoarder.
That killed the game for me, you should either switch at specific points or at will, the timer thing was ridiculous.

It bugged me the entire game, yet I beat the game without using a single one of those items... (item hoarders unite!)

Leia and Jude make a great linked pair. They have a bunch of artes that can be linked early on in the game.

I picked up a copy of KH 1.5 and I honestly don't know why. I still have plenty of Xillia to finish and now GTA V. I wont have time to play KH for a while. At least I got passed Destiny Island and recruited Donald and Goofy so the slow start is out of the way.

Man, I thought Atlus was king of the JRPG market?
Atlus has been profitable, but their parent company Index was up to some financial shenanigans and later filed for bankruptcy.

I'm fine with Sega Sammy owning Index/Atlus (it looks like Sega's starting a whole new subsidiary just for them, which sounds promising), but I am a little worried about what all this means for Atlus USA.

I wouldn't mind if Sega got Atlus to work on some of their classic RPG IP's. A Phantasy Star V, Shining Force, or Skies of Arcadia game would be awesome. Sega used to kick ass in rpg's, but ever since they merged with Sammy, they have practically turned their backs on the genre.

I figure I might need them for a boss battle or some timed sequence late in the game. So I'm hoarding them.

I love the fact that they just casually fall asleep right in the middle of a battle.

I ended up grinding about 10-15 levels from that spot. The "gentlemen" give about 1500 base exp for a group of 3.
Yeah this screwed me up, now I'm overleveled.

I use only Milla, mostly because I've never really switched characters in Tales. The time I was forced to use Jude though, I like his kit and in retrospect I wish I used him. Milla seems more mashy where as Jude seems to let you style on people.

I almost always link up with Leia though because I want to steal things. My party is usually Milla/Jude/Leia/Wildcard, usually Elize because I like her.

Also Alvin has perma-aviators in my game.

I would totally play "Sonic & Persona All-Stars Racing Social-Linked"...

I don't change characters too much in Tales either.  I've only played Milla so far, and in Graces, I prefer to play as Asbel.  Love dodging in that game...so rewarding...

In Tales games, I like to save the other characters for my second playthru. I stuck with Jude for the entire game of Xillia. When I get around to doing a New Game+ with Milla's side of the story, I will no doubt swap around the characters alot. With Graces, I switched alot between Asbel and Sophie, and only used the other characters a little.

my weekend plans jus got canceled

gonna use it as opportunity to try to beat SMT4, coz I believe once u get locked in a path you're on the final mission??

still got sidequests to do tho lol

I am kinda disappointed that they didn't add more voice acting to Symphonia, but I am still looking forward to it more than Xillia 2. At least they are using the PS2 version of Symphonia that added a bunch of stuff that we never saw here, including making the skits more dynamic with more animations, new character outfits, titles, unison attacks, techniques, events, monsters etc, smarter enemy AI, stronger bosses, and I believe the extra dungeon that was in New Game+ is now availabe during your first playthru and has a few more floors added to it. So, there's a lot of new in the game to get excited about.

Nice, looking forward to Symphonia HD. Will the skits be voiced? I remember that bugged me back when I played the original, because I followed the game and new JP version had voices, same with Abyss.

I'm guessing that's a big "No", which is why I wish they'd add JP voice option with ENG subtitles (and ENG subtitles are there in most every game already anyway). No need for a new dub since it's already done in JP and the choice would be cool. Really liked that about Ni No Kuni.

The extra content is just icing. I'm really liking that US are finally getting these versions like Final Mix for KH and International Edition for FFX HD.

Oh, they're not going to go back and add voiced dialogue?  :(  The voiced skits in the more recent Tales games really increased my enjoyment of them.

Both original NA versions of Symphonia and Abyss had voiced dialog during cutscenes, but absent during Skits. Keep in mind these games had around 450 skits, while Graces and Xillia have 100 to 200 less skits total. Some skits in Xillia were even literally one sentence, think it had 241 or 242 skits.

I think I'm ready for the weekend lol

alomst, I think there's a few more quests I need to obtain by trying to recruit demons

I think I'm ready for the weekend lol
I just caught a Cottonee this evening so I'm getting ready myself! Want a Whimsicott in my party this time so, so badly 'cause they're so damned cute!

Oh yeah, by the way, I started Pokemon Black 2 yesterday. Given a line of dialogue I came across earlier today,
I think maybe I should've gotten White 2 for continuity's sake (since I played White 1), but of course I just had to go with Black 2, since Black Kyurem looked cooler

I have Black 2, do I need to get Black 1 to get the story?

Tecmo Koei Announces Atelier Escha and Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky coming to the US early 2014 on the PS3. They also announced Toukiden: The Age of Demons for the Vita and Deception IV: Blood Ties for both PS3 and Vita. Looks like 2014 is the year for JRPGs for both PS3 and Vita.

Don't know much about any of those games except maybe the Atelier game. I have only played Atelier Rorona of that series and wasn't impressed.

Totori was the better game of the trilogy. I haven't played the latest one yet, waiting for it to hit the $20 mark.

If you haven't played Black or White, then no; it's been your standard, self-contained Pokemon story so far. However, there are some references to the previous game, and a "Memory Link" feature which syncs with B/W save data to unlock extra scenes.

B/W spoilers; don't know how major this is, but still:
The line of dialogue I ran across in Black 2 had to do with Zekrom. In it, it is implied that N got this Pokemon, when in White, he got Reshiram and I got Zekrom.

I played some of the Etrian Odyssey Untold demo and I enjoyed it.  I am looking to pick it up eventually.

In the meantime, still playing Xillia and Graces F, although I've been mostly playing Xillia right now since my kids have taken to playing Spelunky during their post-homework and chores free time.  OT but we've only gotten to the second or third jungle level at the most.  :p

one more quest left!!!

Ht6wCEP.jpg

did a quick internet search and apparently it's in the final dungeon,

which means I'm all ready to go to the final lair!!

after I spend the next 5 hours fusing demons that is =P

Decided to just pick up Etrian Odyssey 4 and give it a second go. No point getting the new one if they are exactly same. Maybe I'll like it this time!

finished SMT4 today!!!

got dat Law ending!! (prolly the worst ending lol... I saw the rest of them on youtube =P)

I swear every time I thought I finished all the sidequests, more of them kept popping up o_O

ultimately I did not defeat
Belzebub

o well... almost hit 70 hours total so I'm definitely burnt out, but regardless it was a fantastic game and definitely my favorite of this year!!

maybe I'll revisit again one day or just turn the game back on to look for hidden bosses and demons,

but in the meantime I'm looking forward to finally playing a different game!!

I can't even farm a pure moonstone I'm so embarrassed right I only have a +4 crescent moon uchi how do I tell my parents this? ugh

Woot beat Xillia. Guess that'll be just enough time between now and Xlliia 2 that I'll be aching for another Tales fix. It'll also be interesting to see what the world has become like at that point.

The Rune Factory games look interesting on paper as they combine multiple gameplay elements, but they seem to be slower paced than even other JRPGs.  I'm easily bored, so I've successfully avoided that series.

Speaking of boring JRPGs I couldn't avoid, I fired up KH1.5 Remix HD since I just received it today.  My first impression was "dayum, this looks GOOD".  I mean, the graphic upgrade was really well done and it's hard to tell the series age...until you actually start playing it that is.

The default camera controls are fucking horrible.  It zigs when you expect it to zag (which I assume is how the Japanese play it).

Still, I'm not planning to give up on it as easily as I did the first time I played it.  Hopefully, I'll get farther than I ever did otherwise I'm done with KH forever this time.

So are the Rune Factory games any good?
I love them. They're the best Harvest Moon games out there, bar none. However, you do have to like Harvest Moon-style gameplay in addition to action RPG dungeon crawlers.

I've played all of them, and RF3 is the best in the series so far. I've had RF4 preordered for ages and am really looking forward to it. Hope the release date sticks this time

RF3 was a lot of fun.

It's not really so much farming, but it all ties into the crafting system and that's a lot of fun to me.

I can see people not liking crafting and just wanting to fight though.

The thing that I was most interested in with RF series is the crafting, but not sure I can endure the farming and dating sim just to make cool weapons to kill things.  There's youtube vids of people playing the Japan version if you want to see how it is.
