I only remember farming in RF3 as the money generator. It was like an alternate form of grinding.

I think the dating sim part was only necessary to move the game forward at certain points. Kind of annoying, but I also liked it when the repetitive action of giving gifts to befriend someone led to awesome combat benefits. In this game I think it may have helped you get recipes or craft or something.

The dating sim component is fairly important, plot-wise, in RF2 and RF3, but not so much the other games (not sure about RF4). All the girls in RF3 ranged from pretty cool to awesome, though, so I didn't mind it at all in that; RF2's dating scene had its moments, but was not as interesting overall.

And yeah, farming can be grindy, but it's good for making money and ingredients for recipes. If you like Harvest Moon in the first place, the whole farming component is also fun, thanks in large part to it (typically) being very well executed.

I played one RF game way back on the original DS....I think it was the first one maybe? It was very boring and extremely slow-paced, IMHO, and I have avoided the series since.

I started KH HD...played up to where Donald and Goofy join you. Its HD graphics havn't impressed me yet at all, but I never played the original so I really don't have anything to compare it to. Nothing else about the game has impressed me much either. Yuffie and Squall act and speak completely different from the way they are portrayed in FF 7/8, so I'm guessing those were evil clones or something? Maybe its just because the dialog is terribly written? At least Goofy acts like Goofy, so yeah.....

Finished off the Tron world for both Sora and Riku in KH 3D. Half of the next world for Sora is done too.

Evolving and creating new monsters (pokemon?) is a pretty slow process though. I've kept with mostly the same two for most of the game. Looking at their stats and comparing and contrasting them is just a jumbled mess.

They're ranked, but is a B rank with 26 attack and 25 magic better than an C rank with 25 attack and 26 magic?

F-it. I just let my daughter pick.

Oh, I want the kitty one....

I remember being hamstrung in RF1 because I had to grow crops to survive the dungeons for food or something like that.

In RF3 I only remember growing crops to make money and to craft. It's necessary but it's not a huge deal compared to RF1. There are quests in RF3 that make you stop and do something but definitely not as bad as RF1.

More relevant bits (from): But today, there’s a mysterious countdown under p-ch.jp today. All will be revealed on November 24, and if you tweet the link, the kanji letters for Persona show up.

It's actually not a countdown, but yes, this hashtag -- #ペルソナ (#persona) -- does show up if you click on the Twitter share button. Hmm...

Getting tired of the Kingdom Hearts 3D: repetition.

Run down the corridors, fight some enemies, cutscene, more fighting, another cutscene. Large group of enemies (mini-boss), back-tracking, more corridors, fighting, boss.  World Over.

Repeat with Riku

I liked it but the forced switching was a dealbreaker for me, it was pointless and annoying, It would've been much better if you progressed so far with one character and then switched or just switched at will.

I'm right at th end of Xillia. There's still extra stuff to do but I might just power through to the ending tonight. Any idea how long I have left?
I'm at the point where Gauis gives you dagger so you can revisit Reiza Maxia to finish things up. I went back and did a few things like Fort Gandala.

You are quite literally at the ending if you would have made a right and jumped down. That's the point of no return. It gives you a warning and going left is an option to finish up all sidequests and stuff.

I just beat it. I'm mixed with my feelings. I was underwhelmed with the ending. Nothing epic happens. Besides a few plot twists the story was crap. But the journey is what counts and I loved the battle system. Tales always does a great job developing characters. It seems they focussed more on the characters rather that the plot, and that's not a bad thing in a RPG. I liked all the characters. Not my favorite in the series but it had bazongas.

Finally finished SMTIV.

It was alright. Some parts of the game felt like filler, but overall it was a fun adventure. I think I clocked in 55 hours. The final boss was pretty fun, but easy. The credits music was pretty sick.

The long-ass loading times for Nier have greatly diminished my desire to continue. I am about 10 hours into it, double that when counting the load times. Its not a bad game. I want to keep playing it, but I am sick of reading the same 3 stupid diary entries on the load screen.

I think I may go back and finally beat FF XIII-2 instead. I am somewhere near the end.

Started Mass Effect 3 a few nights ago.

So, the Reapers start attacking Earth. I guess we're the first house on the block because no one of the worlds saw them coming or gave warning.

Oh, let's go to Mars because there's a super weapon there. (Why didnt we already have it? The blue skinned lady explained that but I think the baby was talking or something and I missed it).

Combat on easy is too easy. I probably should bump it up a level.

FFXIV is not bad so far.  I dunno if I can see myself paying monthly for it, but for now, it's ok.  They did a pretty good job consolizing the game overall, other than chat-centric functions.  Does it support mics for PS3?

I'm wondering if I should use my eShop credit for Rune Factory 4?  If not, I'll just save it for LBTW.

3's definitely the easiest of the trilogy as far as combat goes. Bump it up!

Based on the recently-released ESRB description of FF13 Lightning Returns, the story sounds kind of dark. Spoilers ahead:

Rating Summary: This is a role-playing game in which players assume the role of a warrior named Lightning as she attempts to save human souls while battling the forces of Chaos. Players perform quests while exploring a fantastical world and interacting with various characters; combat sequences occur frequently and are presented in real-time format. Players use swords, axes, guns, and magical attacks (e.g., thunder/lightning, fireballs, energy blasts) to battle demons, dragons, elaborate robots, and other human-like characters. Battles are highlighted by sword slashing sound effects, explosions, and occasional slow-motion effects. Cutscenes occasionally depict characters being impaled by swords, and/or dissolving into particles. One element of the story concerns a cult-like group suspected of murdering several young girls who resemble Lightning.

Corpses are depicted in a handful of scenes, some lying in pools of blood with notes pinned to their bodies. Female characters are occasionally depicted wearing revealing outfits (e.g., tops that show moderate amounts of cleavage), and one cutscene scene features camera angles that linger on a female character's chest and buttocks as she discusses a performance with a male director. Lightning occasionally encounters drunken characters that are depicted waving mugs around, slurring their speech, and stumbling. One drunken man sends Lightning on a quest for high end booze before agreeing to a request. Lightning is also able to purchase beer and tequila at bars and consume the items to replenish health. The words “a*s,” and “bastard” appear in the dialogue.

She doesn't just fight robots. No, these are elaborate robots. Then, she does shots of tequila. Possible GOTY? Perhaps!

I'm guessing it's so Vita players can try it out before the new one hits. Haven't played them myself, though.

YaY, even more Neptunia games for Luxuria!
moe pls.

I like you.

Yes, GotY.

The story is alright. Once you unlock dungeons and the such it gets a bit more fun. I tried adding you but couldn't find your character. Add me: Luxuria Lyn

I might wait out on RF4, but I would like to support XSEED for everything they are doing. I might just get it sometime this week.

I will certainly back any Zeboyd RPG.

I'm done with Final Fantasy XIV. It's fun, for sure, but worth a monthly sub? No. Maybe if I get bored of WoW, I'll come back, but I doubt that happens.
