You didn't hear this from me... but :) :) :) on Accent Core on PS2 for US Market... Expect a debut/announcement sometime in the coming months...

:X
fuck. I'm inevitably going to buy the game twice now.

Markman, as always, to the rescue with news that not even major sources have.

Accent Core for US? Shit, I already pre-ordered my import copy. If the US version is cheaper, then I don't know what I'll do...

MM always coming through with awesome fighting game news. Too bad I didn't see the GG post until after I bought XX Slash today.

Who knows, maybe I'll buy XX Accent Core if the U.S release is cheap enough :)

Has anyone played Kabuki Klash? My friends and I played it on a Neo Geo 4 slot at a local arcade tonight. It was actually a whole lot of fun.

Was that the Far East of Eden game? IIRC, that was another SNK game where somebody has a shank, thus reaffirming that SNK games are aimed at Mexicans.

the animation in that game is nice and it looks good. I haven't played it enough to know, but it is a solid game.

mashup character... nice mix:

also...WTF!!!! thread nearing end this soon >_< wow... that was fast.

these fighter threads end hella fast these days. it's neat though.

I've played Kabuki Klash but I don't remember it being anything special. Maybe I'll go back to it and MAME it though.

Speaking of obscure fighters, anyone ever play Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty for Sega Saturn (import)?

Also, anyone play that weird Neo game Ragnarok (i think that's what it was called). It was pseudo-3D looking and was terrible. Anyone know what I'm talking about or am I just nuts?

was it a fighter or shooter?

just wait for it to show up on Wii VC and then we can talk ;)

anyone know where I can buy a Supergun?

are there ones available that play Jamma, AES, MVS and Atomiswave or are there limits? are they pretty easy to use, similiar to a "plug and play" type mentality? I want one that even an idiot like me can get going without messing up too much

I know Chac asked about this a while back. I am actually thinking about getting one in the near future.

Ragnagard was complete garbage. I know you like playing shitty fighters on occasion, but this is bad beyond the point where it can be fun. Speaking of which, the other Neo Geo fighter that I hate on the same level as this is Galaxy Fight.

Galaxy fight is bad, but nowhere near the level of shitasticness of Ragnagard. It has an odd similarity to another stinker "Dark Rift" for N64.

I picked up a matrimelee kit last week from a Japanese seller, so it should be here soon. Until then, this is getting all of my fighting game time:
I didn't see it, let me look again. Anyone see Voltage Fighter GoKaiser? I didn't know that came out for the PSX. I might have to look for that now.

Also that Ranma fighter looked funny.
Ah, Voltage Fighter Gowcaiser...

I haven't played, it but I have the anime. :bouncy:

Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer is "meh"

I wouldn't recommend it unless you are running out of other things to play.

The art direction is kind of cool, but I find the gameplay rather stale.

Try it out in mame or neoragex before you buy it. Most people don't care for it much, but you never know.;)

I've been looking at the Jamma-in-a-box--maybe when I hit the lottery I'll pick something like that up. Where do those arcade guys get the $$$?
Oh yeah, and anyone getting Accent Core for Wii?

http://www.jeux-france.com/news20104_guilty-gear-wii-premieres-images.html
sure, the Wii has the largest install base, but I strongly question Sammy's release strategies...they should've made this for XBL or something. that would have generated a lot of hype.

and they need to lay the smack down on ASW and get them to make GG3 fer jeebus' sake. I'm sure this game will have some craptastic Wii control mode too and drop in price within a week of release.

yeah, i'm kind of pessimistic

Guilty Gear with the Xbox 360 D-Pad? ;)

I do agree with you though, it's just a really weird decision to have a game like that on the Wii. Then again who knows, it might sell well because it's a "anime-looking-fighter".

MarkMan, I'm going to try to make it out to Evo World at least. Hopefully I'll have the money after my trip out East this July.

Also if anyone cares, I am trading off my PSP for a D-Lite Supergun w/ cords/controller over at the SRK boards. I was thinking I have to hurry up and trade my PSP for something I want before it's not worth much. I can't wait to start playing Neo Geo MVS carts. I believe the one I'm getting also plays Atomiswave carts as well.

If it's wired for at least 5 buttons, you'll be able to play atomiswave. The motherboards run $200 or so, and carts start around $50. I'm doing my bi-monthly arcade import from Japan next month, so if you want anything particular let me know and I'll get it set up for you.

Have you found an MVS board for your supergun yet?

Yes. The Bay Area is coming together collectively to punish the state of Illinois for it's lack of arcades.

Not yet. I'm hoping to spend around $50 shipped on a 1-slot, but prices seem all over the place on Ebay. I checked out the Neo Geo forums, but they seem to go quick. I'm hoping to get one sometime after I get the Supergun, which should hopefully be late next week if all goes well.

I think the D-Lite Supergun I'm getting is wired for 5 buttons. The seller was telling me that CPS3 boards are hit or miss with it, but it runs MVS and Atomiswave perfectly. Are Atomiswave carts still way expensive? ($80-400+)

Shame shame... (motions some sort of finger action)

I think I'm the only guy that sees the PSP as a good guiding lite with one of the strongest librarys out. Then again, I prefer handhelds over home console 90% of the time. Personally I still think all my systems suck compared to my handhelds, NGPC included.

Is the seller infindito? The component gun? D-lite does exceptional work, but will occasionally release a supergun with some slight compatibility issues which seems to be the case there.

If it only runs 5 buttons, you wont need to worry about cps3 stuff anyways.* 1-slots vary in price because of the various models. If you're looking at the compact ones, you can forget paying $50 shipped as people (like me) use them for consolization projects. MV1 (the huge one) and MV1F can often be had at lower prices since they are less desirable for projects.

If you have any trouble, message seller run4border on ebay. He has a seemingly endless stock of random 1 slots and metal slug 2 and x cartridges.

The newest/most popular atomiswave are still very expensive. (Metal Slug 6, Samurai Shodown 6) If interested, I can send you a current price list for a Japanese supplier. They generally have the lowest costs.

*As a precaution, don't get into CPS3 unless you have your heart set on it. The boards are very expensive and very fragile.

Yup, it is Infindito, He posts over at the SRK boards as well. If you have the time definitely shoot me a PM with a link to that Japanese supplier.

Somehow I have managed to disappoint both Rolento and Chac :)

I really have nothing against the PSP or PSP owners Rolento. The problem is that I have had the thing for about 2 years and rarely played it. The last time I actually played my PSP was around December of last year. I just felt that if I waited any longer, it would lose it's value and I wouldn't be able to get anything for it. Lucky for me I'm trading it for something I actually want.

I had the CAG fighting thread peeps to thank for getting me into PS2/DC/Saturn Import gaming. Now on top of that I'll be able to play arcade boards. Eeeeeek.

No website on them, it's a straight mailing list. I'll request the latest one in a minute and send you a PM when I get a reply. You'd be interested in atomiswave and MVS hardware and software correct? Anything else specific?
Now on top of that I'll be able to play arcade boards. Eeeeeek.
Consider your bank account ruined.

I started in the same place (supergun) and I'm now nearing 100 pcbs and should be picking up my 5th cab next month. It's an unstoppable addiction.

Asian, Final Fantasy X International is great. Go buy that too. In fact, there's prolly some other stuff you should go buy. Do it cause I said so.

That'd be nice if the PS3 got a firmware update to make PS2 imports playable this week. then I could sell MvC2, buy the $15 Korean version, and knock this speeding ticket....in half

Understandable. Oh well >_<

as for getting you into importing from this thread, I now wish someone would make a "D Cup Asian Girlfriend" thread.

OH MY GOD YOU ARE SO CLEVER.

Apparently fighting game fans are only supposed to play fighting games, my bad I guess I missed the memo. One mention of an RPG out of 25 full pages of fighting game talk......uh ok.

No more recommendations Chac :) I'm going to try and keep KOFXI and Garou for PS2 my last console purchases for a handful of months. I really want to try and save up to get an Atomiswave board w/ game

Anyone think Square will ever touch the fighting genre again? seems like ever since the Enix merge, anything outside of RPGs or Pretty Boy Cakes are out of the question.

I miss the news of when I use to hear of them making snowboarding games and random shooters ... oh the PS1 days.

Why don't you stop bitching and enjoy that a fighting game thread even exists on these boards?

hot diggity dog makes this fighting game thread work.

Markman, the dire seriousness of your post made me laugh.

Slightly on topic: I've got DOA 4 in right now and I'm waiting for fuckin' Apossum to invite me. I am listening to that Aerosmith song in 5.1 though and it ROCKS. YEAAH

the thing I hate most about my psp is the fact that I bought it from wal mart...

I was there buying deodorant on psp release date, and it was jus there and available chillin on the shelf,

and my bank account was full of student aid government cheez,

so I impulsed dat shit down!!!

I guess that was before I vowed to never to step into wal mart or give them any of my money ever again

Got my copy of Guilty Gear Judgment today in the mail and I have to say it looks and plays pretty damn good on the PSP. I really thought the awful PSP d pad would really make it hard to play but I find it to be more responsive then the Capcom PSP fighters. $12 worth spent.

I spotted a Massive PS2 pelican or somesuch bunk wireless joystick at gamestop for $20 today. It is an intimidating white monolith that I suspect is utter garbage, but perhaps someone could give me some idea of what it is. I probably would have bought it if it weren't for it being RF wireless, secret code for guaranteed not to work since my PS2 isn't in a completely open area.

The monstrosity also seemed to have two trackballs, which would be good for other arcade games as well. I don't play a lot of fighters, but it might be kinda fun to have an arcade stick to fool around with Capcom Classic Collection and VF4evo a little bit.

Should I run far away, or bite?

Edit: I've found a photo of the temptress.

http://forums.shoryuken.com/archive/index.php/t-96085.html

It's an old thread, but it looks like the overall consensus is that the stick is garbage.

If you still have an EB/Gamestop that still has the Tekken 5 Ultimate Bundle still in stock, pick that up for $30. 3 different people here recommended the stick in that bundle to me, and it's surprisingly really good for an "out the box" stick.

I need people to play DOA4 with.

And links to sites with MUGEN characters. I know some of the main sites, but its the same crap over and over. I keep seeing videos with people like Ness and Paula from Earthbound, yet I can never find the characters to download.

Yeah, that isn't the most favorable review. I am so skeptical of these things because usually 3rd party joysticks are just crap all around, but also those shoryuken guys are so hardcore that they might complain about anything. As long as it works, I'd be happy.

I supposse I can always return it if it doesn't work.

I'm starting to consider another one, especially now that I hear the U.S. models have raised buttons and the ridiculous amount emulation goodness that has been opened up on it since I sold my last PSP.

Is there a solid Neo Geo emu on there yet?
