I know a lot of people here have Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2. Would you consider the Xbox version to have any particular advantages over its PS2 counterpart? I figure it's generally easier to deal with the 3-4 player games on Xbox, since I don't have to deal with a multitap. This advantage only increases if/when the game goes BC (I have the OG xbox and the 360).
On the other hand, when it comes to the PS2, I just like the fact that there are so much more in circulation. I've often found myself regretting the fact that I sold off the PS2 versions of some fighting games after I got an Xbox, just because I have more friends who own a PS2. Now if I want to play it at their house, I'm out of luck! Unless I feel like hauling my bigass brick of an Xbox over, which is not bloody likely!
So what do y'all think? I could go either way. How many 3-4 player games are actually on the collection anyway? Does Super Turbo (the centerpiece of this collection, I figure) suffer at all on the PS2? Oh, and I may as well ask, but are there any obvious, readily available good deals on this, other than the b2g1 at Gamestop this week?
There's only 3 multi-player games that have more than 2-players. One 4-player game (Captian Commando) and two 3-player games (Knights of the Round & King of Dragons.) Pretty much once you beat each game once, you won't touch them again. They're only good for one play through per decade. I own the X-Box version for the same reason, easier to play multi-player games. I'm not sure about the PS2 version but the X-Box version supports 480p. And as you mentioned the X-Box version is very hard to find, maybe it'll be worth something in the future.
This collection is all about playing wih friends. If it's easier for you to own the PS2 version go for it.
