inFAMOUS - Now Available - First Shipments include Uncharted 2 MP Beta

Why is it that my electric drops of pain hurt me? They are made out of electricity and yet when they discharge/go off it hurts me..wtf? i can be used as a link for a pain power hub for a city but my fucking electricity grenades hurt the shit out of me? I am definitely developing a love hate relationship with this game....
I would imagine that it's a modified Sly Cooper engine with the way Cole clings to everything and the way he jumps.
yeah now that you mention it that weird he does do that weird hunched over jump sly does. and sly climbs poles that way too. all great games thought but i cant wait to see what they come up with in the next installment. wouldnt mind seeing a new jak game too.

Maybe it's the explosion, not the electricity, that hurts?

i just beat the game as a hero and after i attempt to find all the shards and do some more stunts i think i'm going to become infamous! this game kicks ass.
also why the fuck cant you jump fences?
The answer is really quite elementary if you stop to think about it...

How do you know which stunts you completed? Does the game let you know? I swear I killed 50+ enemies with "melee finisher" and the game doesn't say if I earned it or not. The stupid pause screen counter has been stuck on "flying melee" since I started the game, so I can't use the melee finisher counter in there. WTF?

It doesn't let you know which ones you completed it just gives you the number you completed. You just have to remember.

Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Apparently that's not a counter of times the move needs to be done. Just that move's numerical place in a list. So 5/21 doesn't mean you did 5 and need to do it 16 more times, just that it's the 5th move in a list of 21 moves.

No, it means you've done 5 stunts out of 21.
Ugh...three shards left. I don't even know if I will bother.
I still need one more. I'd give up if I wasn't so close... I'll probably check each district one more time.

surprisingly my preorder from newegg didn't have the uc beta key

it is a killer game though, haven't really gotten too far into it, still don't have the hover ability yet

Don't most of the fences have razor wire on top of them? I would say that's why you can't climb over them.

They're not questioning why he can't shoot electricity bolts through a metal chain link fence are they? Seems pretty obvious that the chain link fence would "suck up" the electricity first.

But yeah, I've not clue why his phone isn't fried if he can't hold a gun/be in a car.

No, even the fences without barbed wire are Cole-proof.

The game is a blast, albeit very frustrating and derivative. GotY contender, abso-fucking-lutely NOT.

But it's keeping me entertained, which is important. I'm about 75% done on my Evil playthrough. 10 more territories and a few more shards, and I'll be ready to tackle the last few story missions.

For once, I'm really looking forward to playing as a good guy in a game.

but you cant even jump off of them. everything else you can pull a jump off of but you jump at a fence and you just drop. i know its not a major thing but its noticable. also has anyone heard anything concering those blades they gave away with gamestop versions of the game? i hope they wont make people pay for them because i dont think theyre worth it. or maybe it will come out as part of a bigger dlc.

LOL about the phone never getting fried, I never thought about that...

I'm playing as a good guy as well just made it past the demo mission on the rail car. Got a late start from Gamefly and i've been doing to much exploring looking for shards and building up exp and stuffs. It's very repetitive but fun in a really good Spiderman game kind of way.

I plan on sinking alot of time into this today and moving the story along as i'm looking forward to playing the Uncharted beta soon. :)

Oh ok. Need to get my PS3 back then. Sis's fiance borrowing it. xD

Edit: Saw the video link you posted. Wow, detailed. Still I probably wouldn't play this much since it's still like GTA to me. That's an insult to this game I know, but these "exploring" kind of games just isn't my interest.
I don't get this game. I've seen video of it but it seems kinda boring some how.
the first few levels to me were dull but once you start getting diff powers the game does start to get more interesting. if you dont like dying alot then you may not like this game because you die ALOT.
could be one of those walkie talkie phones. i forget who sells them but i know ive seen them before just like that one.
Sprint/Nextel Direct connect....Moya keeps calling it a phone..so it must be like a direct connect phone...

The first thing I upgraded was my damage resistance and after that it has been pretty easy to stay alive...

Yeah, I got "assigned" hard difficulty after the initial missions and the first powers I upgraded were "Damage Resistance" and so far I've only died maybe four times due to enemies (nearly done with the second island now). Died a shit ton from falling into water while trying to rush jumping puzzles and getting shards though.

Someone please tell me you get the chance to kill that annoying prick that pops up on the televisions every now and then. I hate that guy.

Finished it! Weee! Great game. Enjoyed it much better than Crackdown - due to there being a story. Very surprsing.

But, about the ending.
Why is Cole still mad at Kessler after the game? He found out it was himself... Also, do you turn super powerful if you choose to use the Sphere?
if you dont like dying alot then you may not like this game because you die ALOT.
I guess I'll just start ragging on Too Human. Can't be any worse than Too Human can it? lool

rather than complain about dying, why not turn down the difficulty. cole doesnt absorb much damage on hard especially when you take on a lot of reapers.

Oh no... not complaining about that. :cough:cutscene you can't bypass, watch myself die, and then spend 4 hrs walking back to where I died:cough: xD

Hmmmm...

...so? Imagine yourself in this situation. Your city has plunged into chaos. You've been branded a terrorist. You now have god-like powers that others will try to manipulate you over. Your best friend betrayed you. Your girlfriend is dead.

All of that happened because of Kessler. Just because he says, "Well, I'm you from an alternative future, and I came here to prepare you for 'The Beast,'" that's not gonna change all of the shit he put you through.

Yea, but it is still him. And he did what he wanted to accomplish. Did it fail? Is it inevitable the Apocalypse is going to happen?

whats the point in playing a game on easy ? you might as well use cheat codes then. i just stated a fact you do die alot in this game but once i beat the good game on medium i plan on playing the evil game on hard. it just sucks that the dodge move they give you to use doesnt really help all that much. still a great game though. realisticaly i guess i could beat it even easier if i used those blades but i dunno i just dont want to use them. might make the game too easy.

Nah, the blades aren't that good. They are only worth it for the occasional baddie that has left the pack, but it's generally better to take them out from afar since they like to kite.

I found the games difficulty to be perfect - sometimes it would get frustrating but I'd quickly figure it out and complete it (which is very satisfying). The only "easy" parts I feel are some of the boss fights, because you can generally heal yourself before dieing.

Great game - SuckerPunch did an amazing job.

Well my PS3 just froze for the first time. Chick told me there is a hurt guy and I walk up to him and it froze up...restarted just fine though

This game seems a little repetitive to me. I'm only about 7% done here, but Crackdown just seemed a lot more fun to me. It was a lot more fun to explore in that game. That said I'm going to finish this game and hopefully after I upgrade all my powers I'll enjoy it a little more. After the last few days I'm semi disappointed but I'll save my final judgment until I finish the game. Was anyone else disappointed at all with the final product?
Some advice for those who die alot, be sure to upgrade the damage decrease skill thing, all 3 levels, first thing you play.
Yeah, I heard this same advice on a podcast I was listening to last week (I think it was Listen UP, but I'm not sure) I'm still only in the very early parts of the game, but that was my first upgrade, and it will be my next two as well.
This game seems a little repetitive to me.
Kinda reminds me of assassin's creed..in each island/kingdom you have the same missions as the others...in this case....escort, spy devices on buildings, recover something, sewer level, etc....

I'm going to take a break from Infamous and looking for that last shard. I'll probably try out Cross Edge for a bit and start an evil playtrough of Infamous on hard.

I've yet to find the last two shards. I actually had a dream last night where they kept showing up on my radar even though they weren't there.

I love this game. This is the best superhero and best open world game I've played this gen. It's insulting to even mention it with Assassin's Creed or GTA IV.

About the dying, it's completely your fault 98% of the time. I die a lot, but never in a way that was unavoidable and, I can't believe no one mentions this, this is an open world game where you don't have to start a mission from the very beginning every time you die or fail an objective. This is fairly major. They even let you restart some of the longer foot race missions in the middle if you run out of time.

So while you'll die, it's never frustrating or unfair and you don't have to replay big chunks or back track, at least if you die in a mission.
