Not only have I not opened the game yet due to my backlog, but because of the reviews. Getting tired of playing the same JRPG cliche story with the same cliche characters.
I am too. Seriously, why do most Japanese RPGs have such boring, cliched stories? Why don't they write something interesting first? I'm not necessarily saying anything about this game since I haven't played it, but...
And...the second day in a row I'm tempted by an RPG on here. Yesterday it was Brave Story. The only Tri Ace game I've played is Valkyrie Profile and it's remake, and I disliked both fairly strongly, so I'm assuming I should skip this (?). I more prefer turn based RPGs anyway (and if you're going to be an action RPG, use a mechanic I like, like Mass Effect did...)
Its pretty awful, like the majority of the 360's RPGs. Im going to force myself to finish it soon just to nuke it from my hard drive.
Well the majority of RPGs period are pretty generic and dull IMO. At least the 360 has TWO Sakaguchi games. Blue Dragon's story is mostly kinda dull (though it has it's moments) though the gameplay is still strong. Lost Odyssey, though...
Plus I'm currently halfway through Lost Odyssey, and it's excellent. Best FF I've played since X

Yeah. It absolutely registers as a Final Fantasy/Sakaguchi game (Blue Dragon too). I have some issues with it that keep me from liking it as well as Final Fantasy 9 or 10, and maybe even some of the others, but it's still must-play if you like Sakaguchi's stuff, or probably Japanese RPGs in general.
