Wrestlemania tickets was a bust sold out in in minutes (online). I thinking White Sox tickets will also be very hard to come by tickmaster.com was a waste of time and effort for wrestlemania tickets and calling ticketmaster all I got was a busy signal. I'm thinking standing in line at the box office is the best bet.
Thats what I wanted to do, but I found out you can't get tickets at the box office for World Series tickets. The only way to get them is through ticketmaster.com or by calling them. Well, I am going to try tomorrow anyways. If not, looks like I will be ebaying to get some tickets.

I was only able to bring up single tickets for wrestlemania at ticketmaster.com (was looking for 6 tickets) but I did buy one ticket for the show for my bro (birthday gift) :). I also picked up nine tickets for the Raw show the next day, they usually have rematch matches at Raw following wrestlemania with the title holders. So you still can get a good show by not paying overpriced tickets. Also anyone going to the hall of fame show or exhibition?
just so everyone who gives a damn knows, i now work at the Webster EB (promotion, yay!), so stop by sometime and say hi
Congrats rocksolidaudio on your promotion. When I have a chance I stop by and say hi :).

I also tried to grab multiple tickets to Wrestlemania, but ended up only being able to grab one ticket for myself. I haven't been to a show since the night when Hogan and the nWo debuted on Raw, taking out the Rock, so it's certainly been some time. I do plan to try and check out the Hall of Fame and whatever else they're running that weekend, although I don't know if I'll end up still being in town the next night for Raw.

Now to get through for White Sox tickets. I've got everyone I know attempting to purchase them, so hopefully the ticket gods are with me.
I fuckING HATE TICKETMASTER (slow piece of shit).

Was anyone able to get white sox tickets?
Nope, ticketmaster blows. I had 2 tickets on line and I was getting ready to type in my credit card number and then bam, "ticketmaster perfroms an illegal operation" or something like that. I was so fucking pissed.

Might just try and get some off ebay. I can also try and have my boss take me which he said he might since he has season tickets and might be inviting me to go to the World Series with him.
I told you guys ticketmaster would be a waste of time.
Where you able to get through some other ways?

I got em. Right behind the Sox dugout, and it was the game when Peirzynski did the check swing strike out.

He was talking about the World Series tickets. Btw I was at that game as well as game 1 against the Red Sox. Anyways the only way to get tickets was through ticketmaster.

Calling all Chicago(ish) CAG's . .. .

The Gamestop in Bloomingdale (Army Trail Rd) has had tons of PS1 RPGs lately. I would pick them up myself by I know I won't play them and have had terrible luck turning a profit on ebay.

Just yesterday, they had :
Persona ($20 - manual was there but in really bad shape - case was also worn - this one is more for people who actually just want to PLAY it.)
Persona 2 ($30 - 3 copies, all good to near mint condition)
Tales of Destiny 2 ($35 or $40 - can't remember and not sure why it isn't the online price of 27.99) - good condition
Rhapsody ($40) - good condition
Plus all the FF, Vagrant Story, etc.

I realize these aren't CHEAP, but if you have a Gamestop card they will be 10% off. And I know some people are like me and like to actually see the condition of the game as opposed to buying off of ebay. Plus if it doesn't work you can just bring it back.

Anyhoo - I hope somebody benefits from this - for you people downtown let me know if you want me to pick anything up because I'm in there pretty regularly. Then I can bring it to the next meet *ahem* which somebody should start planning. I would gladly host it but I'm 100% positive that with the exception of a few west suburbaners none of you are making the hike to St. Charles.

I know this is a bit out of date, but did anyone have any luck finding Zookeeper DS during the Best Buy price drop (in the Chicago 'burbs)? I'm still looking for a copy for the Mrs. but to no avail. Can't imagine there'd be a high demand for this game.

Paper Mario 2 for $10 on the other hand...

I'd be interested in Tales of Destiny 2 ($35 or $40 - can't remember and not sure why it isn't the online price of 27.99) - good condition

As long as it was complete with case and instructions.

And BTW I did not try to get tickets because I knew with my Wrestlemaina experience that trying would be a waste of time and effort.

looks like I'm hitting up BB for my 360....it'll be like the PSP, sold out at EB and GS for a while, but readily available everywhere else. Just called Skokie-- they say they're getting 60 of each type.

this might be a little bit off-topic, but my buying days are on hold for a little while until i find a new job...anybody in here have advice? doesn't have to be a stellar job, just something making $12/hour or more, at least through january when i go back to school. i did some telemarketing for a while and i had to get out before i went insane...so any help is appreciated! oh, and has anyone been to the GS in marionette park (spelling?)? They have some insane dvd sets in MINT condition, super cheap. I picked up Sopranos season 5 for $40, and then used the b2g1f coupon to get Simpsons seasons 2,3, and 4 for a total of $50, all prices before the 10% discount. Quite the steal!

Sears a 2 North State is hiring. My applicationg got messed up in the PC and I can't do anything about it someone told me. I also know hte container store in bucktown is hiring. I'm hoping they call me back for a 2nd interview.

Hey, congrats.

But tell whoever "Lindsey" is at that store (it was a guy that rung me up) that he's a bitch for adding on the Guarantee-thing without asking me first. I didn't notice it until I was looking through my pile of receipts a week ago. It was only a dollar, but it's still a bitch move.
[/vent]

Sorry 'bout that.

I got my ickets off ebay, ticketmaster was so slow. I took of school friday to try and get presale tickets but that didn't work. But how do you get tickets to the hall of fame? and isn't there usually like a fan night or something where you can play PS2 with the superstars of WWE like smackdown vs. Raw or something, because i thought they usually had something liek that for Wrestlemania. but anyways where are your seats, mine arent that great I got section 213 Row D so its pretty damn close to the front row, but that'd be cool if we ran into eachother.

How much did you pay for the wrestlemania tickets?
How much did you pay for the wrestlemania tickets?
I know it's ridiculous, but me and my friends ended up payin $1,000 for 4 tickets in 213, D. Ticketmaster fucked us over, I'm sitting here on the computer constantly hitting refresh around 10 waiting for them to go on sale, and then they do and I click on the "Get tickets" link and it went to the page where they claimed it wasn't on sale yet. Then about 2 minutes later it decided to go to the order page and I selected the # of tickets I wanted and all of that and they were sold out. So we had the choice of ebay and paying up the ass or not going at all. So we obviously wanted to go so we bought them, but were just all happy as hell that were all going.
And the Sox do it again, beautiful. They're definitely going all the way!
Quiet you. I will not have a possible jinx being cast at this point.
What area videogame store still accepts Dreamcast games.
gamecrazy.

anyone else think it's time to start a new chicago thread? this thing is huge :)
I agree for part. 2
Its not as huge as other threads but I like that we the Chicago area thread is the biggest regional and city thread around :).
Anyone check any KBs in the Chicago area yet?
Yep, Lombard one in Yorktown mall, I grabbed Zelda: Minish Cap, Spider man 2 for PSP, and Shadowman for N64 for $1. Great haul, but I am going to be checking a couple more kbs this weekend.

Lets keep this thread. It can act as our regional deals e-penis. The massive size of it will allow for a wide variety of electronic reaming. So, I say it stays.

I checked out the Kbtoy on Irving park and they had mostly sport games. I only got worms blast for the gamecube for $5.
Anyone in the Orland Park/Joliet area around here that checked local KB's?
Those are the stores specifically I was wondering about too. And Chicago Ridge. I might check one/both out later today if I have time.

I was gonna got to Orland park around 7pm. But I think thats way to late.
I was gonna got to Orland park around 7pm. But I think thats way to late.
My guess is that Orland would be cleaned out faster than Joliet, but I was planning on checking both if I had time.

Going to Woodfield mall to check to see if the kbtoys there has anything.

Btw is anyone looking for a copy of zelda: Minish Cap?? They had a couple more at the kbtoys in the Yorktown mall in Lombard.

went to golf mill...nothing stood out, but i got a complete copy (with a worn as hell box) of Rtype 3 for the gba for $5.
