Hello, I am a Chicago guy so I would like to start a Chicago thread so maybe we can help each other out by letting Chicago area cheapasses find cheap deals.
Thanks for the heads up. I need to read this thread more often. I live close enough to the one on Roselle in Schaumburg, but I wouldn't mind having one in Elgin as well. People in this town like to pawn. The used stock should cycle in pretty quick.

I wanted to hit up Wizard World after I missed C2E2 this year, but these cons are always the weekend before my paycheck aka when I am at my poorest. Oh well at least next year I will have all these dental bills gone finally.
I work very close to the one opening in Elgin, I took a peak inside the windows yesterday, small store similar in size to the one in West Dundee was in its final location. Looks like only DVD/Blu Rays and Games, no music.

The Blockbuster next door is closing mid Sept, if you want any discounted blurays and games

I was gonna hit the Lawrence Sears today, but I saw a post on that slickdeals thread that someone hit the Chicagoland ones and nothing was discounted yet, so saved a trip. I was also gonna go on Friday then, but my car was just totaled on the way home, so disposable income has sunk to zero. eff em el

Hi CAGs, I have for sale a star wars mmo CE unopened for sale looking for $33 if anyone is interested if not going back to kmart.
Next Tuesday, I pick up Madden, Walking Dead season 2, and this!
Free gyro day is the best day of the year!!
No free gyro place by me.

There's a new hourly rental place near Six Corners (on Milwaukee near the Portage Theater). Sneaky Ninja, or something. Looks kinda ghetto, though. Folding chairs and a tiny tv on a stand. The front door was open when I drove past on Saturday.

That place probably used to be across the street from the Patio Theater. It was there a few years ago. Same type of set up.

I printed one up for Wrigleyville Dogs, but I was too lazy to make a stop. I did make it for one last year but yeah, it was out of the way.

Took 40 minutes to get through the line for Shelly's Freez in Chicago this year, but gyro meat rarely tasted sweeter -- after waiting so long, of course. Still enjoyed it, but better not to wait if you need to eat right away.

Went to wrigleyville dogs yesterday at 12:30 and it was no line no waiting. Almost too perfect. Didn't feel too bad about paying $2 for fries with my free gyro.

I'm down. I may be a little later in the afternoon. Might be helping out with something that day in the morning, but it's also in Brookfield, so I'll be in the neighborhood. I'll shoot for the earliest I can.

I almost never buy anything at the one in Schaumburg, though I stop in a couple times a month. Now I do love a couple of pawn shops in Elgin, so I'll definitely check this one out and see if its any better, someone told me the ones outside of Schaumburg have better prices. Time will tell.

A question, any idea on where can I get toy; r us paper upcoming Sunday/ I have Chicago tribute on Sunday but never see it. Are they only in sun times?

Its open now, decent prices on stuff, 11.99 for God of War Collection lots of sports games of course. Better prices than that Crap Converters on Golf. Earlier gen games are too pricey though

I wish I could join you guys, but I'm going to Riotfest in Humboldt Park that day.

I didn't realize they still had riotfest. I know some of those bands, booked some of them, and played with one of them. ;)

But yeah, I'm down for the meetup.

I'm more into the older games. I get REALLY good deals at Cash Converters... but they have been raising their prices majorly the last few weeks unfortunately. Guy who works there told me they used to sell any old school stuff for 1.99 or 2.99 (which I got some amazing deals from) but the owner recently decided to jack prices up. I'll swing by the new Disc Replay on lunch sometime this week if I can figure out where it is... still not listed on their web site. Anyone got an address?

Yeah I'm going mainly to see Coheed and Cambria cause they are my favorite band. :D
We should get a roll call going.
If you guys want to change the date speak up. We can push if back if there are only going to be 3 or 4 of us there.

If some of you guys who haven't been to a meetup actually want to go on another date, post some options and the rest of us can try to adapt.

Since there seems to be a lot of stuff going on pushing back the date is probably a good idea.

Holy balls, $500 bucks? Don't you love dat city government? I can't believe citizens let them get away with that doubling-the-fine bullshit.

I live in the burbs, the fines were for 3 tickets were 50 a piece, 2 of them jumped up to 250.

x5?! ...even more holy crap. When I moved out here to Mt. Prospect, I was shocked by how much less tickets are than in Chicago. I guess not all townships are created equal.

Hey if anyone has Zelda tickets to sell for October 25th let me know. I had something set up and it fell through. I was hoping to get mad street passes!

I've got two tickets available. I was gonna go but I found out I have to work that night. PM me and we'll work something out. I'll accept cash, trades, and "favors."

I've never been to a meet up but I can't make it this weekend cause of work but next weekend I'd be down. Is bringing the wife shunned upon?

I'm not familiar with the term 'wife', but that sounds interesting...I think wives are welcome (or anyone else for that matter). If we meet at Galloping Ghost, there isn't much else to do in the immediate area, so I hope she likes arcades.

She can tolorate it ;-) I'm no familiar with Galloping Ghost, will Google it but I'm assuming Game works is out if the question?

I've never been to gameworks, but if the car is straight and if gas is 3.79 or lower(ha!) I'm in.

Think Dave and Busters. I only suggested gameworks cause I can get a alcoholic beverage in me there and its a hell of a social lubricant.

I think we had a meetup at gameworks back in the day or talked about it at least. Gameworks is/was owned by SEGA and there is one in Schaumburg.

Yea, I set in motion we meet next Saturday or Friday at gamewerks in Schaumburg. Whadaya guys think.
I would prefer galloping ghost since for $12-15 we can play all day where in gameworks we would waste more.
I here forth withdraw my previous statement. So we talking Friday or saturday?

IDK if I can make it that soon. Probably a week from Saturday would be the earliest I could go.
