It didn't help matters that MTV aired WSX at least 57 times a week between all the stations combined or something like that. And even worse yet they air the "new" episode a few days before its "official first airing" or something like that.

WSX had potential in due time to be an enjoyable fast paced show. Flawed yes but it was damn enjoyable. We'll see if MTV might change their minds regardless....

They've actually being doing things like that a lot lately. Nearly every one of their big "10-spot" shows (Real World, Road Rules, The Hills, etc.) airs after TRL a few hours before its big "prime time" premiere. Supposedly TRL's being cancelled as well.

I find it rather hypocritical that MTV, who still shows reruns of Jackass and Beavis & Butthead, complains about a fireball on WSX. They've got no problem with showing Maui Fever directly before TRL for the home-from-school audience (if you haven't seen it, it's Laguna Beach with more teen drinking and sex), but won't let a fireball go by in primetime.

EDIT - After a little investigation, "Scarred" is MTV's latest reality show about, what else, scars. It's hosted by Papa Roach, and features viewer stories about injuries they've sustained.

The upcoming series "Scarred" represents the channel's first show featuring exclusively user-generated content. Jerry Horton, Jacoby Shaddix, Dave Buckner and Tobin Esperance of Papa Roach will host the series.

The program will provide audiences with a look at some of the most brutal-looking spills, tumbles and crashes ever seen on television, all provided by viewers. Producers of the show have been scouring Web sites in recent months in search of the best footage available for the series as it prepares to launch.

"We have never done anything like this before," Mr. Graden said. "Video on this show is entirely homemade, and the stars of the series are unintentionally finding themselves on television for something that didn't end so well. What people are going to see is wildly different and that's what makes this show work."

Putting "Scarred" on the channel's schedule adds to MTV's roster of series in the emerging television category that could be described as the "blood genre." Like the network's well-performing "Wrestling Society X" and "Bam's Unholy Reunion," this type of show features people regularly putting their bodies on the line either by performing insane stunts or by fighting in a ring. It provides a ratings draw throughout the cable world via shows like "Ultimate Fighting Challenge" on MTV's sibling network Spike.

Wow.

I'm not even a Super Crazy fan, but I love that shirt.

Bad news for me, though... I'm not going to be able to attend No Way Out on Sunday as I had planned. :(:(:(:(
It's like a combo of an old The OffSpring tshirt and a Grim Fandango game pack-in.

WSX dying would mean the end of Jack Evans and Matt Classic on my TV, and I don't want that to happen. Of course, given that MTV is in complete chaos, I guess WSX folding would be the least of the network's concerns right now, and it would presumably free up the talent to take TNA and WWE deals if they were offered, so some good could come from their death. That Super Crazy shirt is 17 shades of awesome! I'm surprised they'd allow a mid-carder's shirt to look that good. "Ultimate Fighting Challenge" according to that new article... apparently, the UFC boom hasn't entirely connected with some parts of the media.

Alex Shelley!!!!!! :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:
Did you go to the promo event where Christian and others were at the arena this morning?
No, I had to order from school. I live about 2 hours away though so it would have been out of the way to drive there.

Michael Cole is teh funnay:

Cole brings up JBL wanting to run for office in Texas and wonders why JBL wants to run in a state he hasn't lived in a while, comparing him to Hillary Clinton. JBL says he would appreciate Cole not bringing up that he doesn't live in Texas because his IRS residence still has him living there.

From the WWE.com "Around the Ring" segment.

Yeah, Row 6 is gonna be sweet. I can't wait to see Angle. This is my first TNA event, so I can't shaq-fuing wait.
BTW this forum really needs a ravishing rick rude thread, if it hasnt already had one.he was one of the all time greats imo.
Please understand there has already been a Rick Rude topic.

Not much we didn't already know, but this is where it's at right now:
Rob Van Dam's contract expires at the end of this summer. The six-month warning just passed, and he chose to turn down the auto-renewal, which means the contract won't rollover into another year as scheduled. That means, unless he agrees to renegotate, his contract with WWE will expire and he will be a free agent in August.
Getting out of WWE reminds me of trying to cancel XBox Live.
I'm heading to the ROH show tonight. Anyone want a review?
Sure why not. I plan on going to one in March.

There's also going to be a fairly local indy fed starting up around here this weekend. I'm tempted to check out their first show in Livonia, although I'm not expecting much as Elix Skipper is heading the card along with a 20 man battle royal to crown their first champion.

finally saw this weeks tna... good show...

was that the spoiler you guys were talking about? joe winning the rumble?

that madness impersonation was funny as shit

I really enjoyed TNA last night. There were some things I could do without (the Ron Killings crap, Soprano's guy, etc.), but it was a very solid show.

'wonder how things are going to develop now that Joe is the number one contender, rather than Angle (whom they were building up as becoming the number one contender in the first half).

I marked the fuck out when I saw Shark Boy and Norman Smiley.

I'm surprised WWE didn't put a lawnmower or a taco on it, or something else extremely racist.

It turns out that this really really awesome shirt is just one of three choices - it isn't officially his shirt yet, but it should be. It's not as cool as Christian's new one though -

Who will represent Trump and McMahon? This is something that is still somewhat a mystery to me.

You gotta figure, Batista, Taker, Cena & HBK are all out for sure. Edge and Orton are likely to face each other, so that leaves us with the following, by my estimation:

Vince
Umaga
Khali
Booker
Shane
Mr. Kennedy
Edge
Orton - unless they face each other

Trump
Chris Benoit
Rey Mysterio
Ric Flair
Bobby Lashley
Mick Foley
Hulk Hogan - I'm guessing this is who they were originally planning on putting here, but oh well.

WWE's little person infatuation is consummately fucking lame... but I'll admit that was pretty funny.
So far Smackdown has screamed early 90's WCW to me.
Yeah.

Almost as bad as RAW's "1989 WWF!!!!" battle cry. ;)

I'M COMING!

I don't like MVP... I doubt I ever will. Maybe Lashley will represent McMahon and someone like.. oh I don't know.. Sandman will represent Trump? Long shot I know...

I'm wondering who is going to be in the MitB match more, I'm thinking:

ECW
Rob Van Dam (wait until WM is over to really bury him)
CM Punk

SD!
Mr. Kennedy
Matt Hardy

RAW
Jeff Hardy
Johnny Nitro

Kennedy and Jeff Hardy would be the most likely to win.

Rumor is Vince/Khali and Trump/Lashley.

Which, if true, will be the worst match in Wrestlemania history.

Ring of Honor was amazing. Tons better than the half-hearted Edison, NJ last month. The crowd was hot and every single match was fantastic. Not one bad match on the card at all - although to be honest, I was running late and did miss two matches.

Results:

01. Takeshi Morishima defeats Pelle Primaeu.

Was running late...

02. Delirious defeats Adam Pearce.

03. Sara Del Ray & Allison Danger defeat Alexa Fisher & Daizee Haze.

04. Four Way Fray: Xavier vs Jack Evans vs Jimmy Jacobs vs SHINGO

Jack Evans can main event ROH. The dude has just got it with the crowds and can truly go in the ring. Xavier got a 'nice welcome' back chant but after being the first one eliminated, he also got a 'thanks for coming' chant as well. Great match with everyone really rooting for Jack.

Early on, Jack and Shingo worked against both Jacobs and Xarvier. After Xavier and Jacobs were eliminated, there were a couple of key moments where it looked like Shingo may win, but in the end Jack hit the 630 (beautifully!) and got the win. He grabbed the Japanese flag afterwards and handed it to Shingo as a sign of respect and the two shared a hug.

5) Tables Match: B.J. Whitmer defeats Brent Albright.

Brent Albright is pretty underrated. He knows how to play the fans. At one point when he was setting up a table for the final spot, the the legs gave way for no real reason. At this point he looked at the audience who were laughing at him and just busted the table apart which got a cheer out of the fans. Three really amazing spots. The first was really the first move in the match when Albright blindsided Whitmer at the start of the match and hip tossed him to the outside through a table. The second was when Albright powerbombed Whitmer to outside through two stacked tables. The final was when Whitmer did an overhead belly to belly suplex through two tables for the win. Awesome match as well.

6) ROH World Tag Team Championship Match: Matt Sydal & Christopher Daniels defeat Austin Aries & Roderick Strong.

I really dislike the team of Sydal and Daniels. They just brought the overall feeling of the show down and in my opinion was the worst match of what I saw. There were a couple of neat spots but it wasn't entertained until the end when the pace picked up a little - but even this backfired a bit because Aries ending up screwing up a lionsault and hurting his ankle, pretty badly it seemed as well because he was having trouble standing at all. At first he got a few you f'd up chants, but when people saw that he was legit hurt ( or he sold really well ), people started chanting his name as a sign of respect. Sydal and
Daniels won with a combo of a shooting star press and best moonsault ever. Aries took a few crazy bumbs as well, for a while there, he simply was not able to put ANY weight on his leg. After the match, Roderick Strong turned on Aries and started a new faction with Davy Richards titled 'The Remorseless Crops'. Yeah the people there thought it was gay too.

7) Nigel McGuinness & Colt Cabana defeat Jay & Mark Briscoe.

Good match as well. The Briscoes were mainly more over than the Nigel/Cabana team, but each got their very stiff shots in. The final move was suplex lariat combo and my god, I have not seen a stiffer lariat in my life. It was that loud and it was that hard.

8) Samoa Joe defeats Takeshi Morishima.

Joe took the ass kicking for the start of the match with Morishima doing cool bits like a front drop kick off the top rope. Personally I thought Joe was going to put Morishima over but in the end, Joe got the rear naked choke hold on Morishima and choked Morishima out after applying the hold like four times successively in a row.

9) ROH World Championship: Homicide defeats Jimmy Rave.

Homicide was mad over and him and Rave put on a awesome match. Much better than his match with Joe last month. He was also echoing Eddie Guerrero a bit as well, doing the three amigos as well as the light suffle Eddie used to do. A neat bit of psychology played into the match where Rave worked over Homicide's leg and during a ankle lock variation, people geniunely seemed to think that 'Cide may tap out. Smokes wasn't nearly as distracting as he was at the Edison show either. He played it well. He got involved a couple of times, allowing Homicide to use a shank on Rave (but there wasn't any blood) as well some other instances where
he distracted the referee. Homicide with the win in the end with a sick looking cop-killer.

Awesome show. I got a second row ticket for the next NYC show in May, but I won't go to any outside of those simply because of the rotten crowds elsewhere. If you have any questions - just ask. Later! I need sleep. :)

No kidding.

Looking at that list, why not have Flair vs.Edge? or Edge vs. Foley?

If it ends up being Khali vs. Lashley that'd just be pathetic. Those two just plain suck at everything right now. I'm not saying they'll both always suck but right now they don't have anything going for them except for their physique. Lashley with the cut/bodybuilder and Khali with the freakishly tallness. I mean really, what else do they do that's even above average?

Source: The Pro Wrestling Torch

As reported earlier, Andrew 'Test' Martin is off house shows after violating the WWE Wellness Policy. There had been several people wondering about how he was even passing the tests in the first place since his return to WWE in June. As it turns out, WWE does indeed play favorites. Many wrestlers in WWE would be highly suspect for failing Wellness tests, but certain people are looked over. Don't expect anyone in a high position for WrestleMania to fail one anytime soon.

Test was very upset about doing jobs to Bobby Lashley at TV & PPV and he let Vince McMahon know about it. He was suddenly put on suspension and many feel that he was only suspended due to being a disgruntled employee that had spoken out.

Also, the new idea is to only pull the person from house shows in an attempt to keep things quiet.

The Wellness Policy just keeps getting better and better...

I'm thinking one of the guys will be Stone Cold, since they keep mentioning that he'll be returning, and I'm sure they want a big angle for him. Khali vs Lashley would be horrible (I don't think Lashley is too bad, he was having some OK matches on Smackdown) but anything involving Khali is crap (except for him squashing Eugene the other night)

Thanks for the recap ahmed.

Morishima won the ROH title from Homicide tonight.

Guess I'll have to get some cheap seats and go next week. The pull of it being my last opportunity to see Joe live for a long time is also making me want to go.

Looks like TNA is going to pull Homicide a LOT sooner than we all anticipated. I doubt that Gabe would of pulled the title from Homicide this soon.

Hopefully at least Homicide will still be around late April. Otherwise I am going to be seriously pissed off. Bad enough that my next ROH show will be the first one with no Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson. I don't want it to be the first without Homicide as well.

Samolian Joe > CP Munk. I blame Punk for what happened to him.. If he had just ALLOWED Iron Sheik to fuck him in the ass and make him humble, he would have won the title off Big Show like.. at most a month ago.. and if he just ALLOWED his girlfriend to seem like the whore that she is... he wouldn't be jobbing to Matt Striker or Bob Holly or whoever he faces nowadays. And if he would have just ALLOWED Russo to write him into Seratonin with the rest of the jobbers, he could still have matches with all his ROH buddies every now and then :)

QFT... just for the Iron Sheik reference.

At least Joe is getting a title shot on PPV finally. Looking forward to see Christian Cage vs Samoa Joe.... I have a feeling that Cage is going to win tho since it looks like Russo is building up Christian's heel faction. It wouldn't work out quite as well if Christian didn't have the belt.

Yeah, I figured as much. I'm just surprised that as much as TNA loves bringing in ROH guys, Hero and Claudio haven't been seen there. A couple of big men that move like cruiserweights? Shit, that's got X Division all over it.

That would be great if TNA would do more with the X Division other than push it as a complete joke like they are right now.
