Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

Although really, I'm 100% fine with kids that've hit puberty playing this. I obtained real porn when I hit puberty, back in the 90's. Any kid that wants porn now can get it easily, and most videogames they want to play are murder simulators. This far better for kids than either of those options.

So let's get this straight first: I am terrible at rhythm games. No matter how hard I try. With all of the practice and persistence. Having spent probably 40 hours playing across three of the games...I'll never get a Perfect score on hard in a Miku game. 

Then I watch this video and suddenly I don't feel so bad:

I downloaded the demo a few times and quit trying after failing at a hilarious level. I'm just not quick enough for rhythm games.

Well think how great it will be when your order finally arrives and it's smashed to hell? I guess "weak sauce" won't begin to described that situation will it? LOL Hopefully that doesn't happen, but don't be surprised if it does.

High US demand? It's an ESRB rated North American release, I should think that's where most of the demand should be coming from. I guess that's the problem you get when a British retailer is the sole retail distributor of a North American title (referring to the CE of course).

Good to see Valkyrie Drive and Steins;Gate 0 pre-orders show up on Amazon.

I hope they also show up on Bestbuy soon.

They likely wont PQube stuff is basically only on Amazon and maybe some other non US stores like VideoGamesPlus. I am hoping for $20 on all those games though....I will wait as neither are huge pulls for me, though maybe after playing Steins;Gate this month, maybe 0 will be.

Oh you're right. I completely forgot PQube is localizing these. Guess I'll go with Amazon then :/

 
Doesn't look like there's any new free DLC this week on PSN. However I took a look at Gal*Gun DLC and holy shit that's some pricey DLC. One piece in particular is outrageous. It's also only cosmetic DLC.

I don't have definitive proof that it won't be included in the UCE.  But it's definitely not mentioned anywhere on the product page.  And since the standard version + season pass is $85 digitally, you can bet that it's not included in the $90 steelbook deluxe version either. 

I'd expect a Twitter announcement on the matter sometime soon.  Because this won't be the last time someone mentions it.

Damn. I had foolishly hoped a game that was this long in development would be released as a complete package/story. What a shame. 

 
Should it be included in the UCE? From looking at it the price seems to reflect what you already get in it with the figure being almost half that cost.

 
FFXV season pass disappoints me to no end. I was hoping for a somewhat complete edition on release, maybe sans some cosmetic stuff or such. I'm kind of afraid this game will be maybe just OK, and have the same exact feelings for The Last Guardian (likely to be meh and possibly short...just feel it), and No Man's Sky (hype will kill this one I think). I hope they all are hits in being good games, but I just don't feel it. I wont touch that season pass until I play the game though.

Season passes in general disappoint me. Mostly because most of them are just some slapped together dlc that should have been in the main game to begin with, that and half the time now they don't even include all the dlc released.

 
Incoming season pass for FFVII remake.

You'll also have to pay an extra dollar each time you need to use a limit break.

It's funny that you say that because I feel like you do but I have +20 Hard perfects and 6 extreme perfects under my belt from Future Tone, not counting the other games.

Yeah i've officially sworn off buying anime figures. I only make the slight exception for more Sailor Moon figuarts (these are slow to come out) and Ranma 1/2 Figuarts, since I like those. Everything else is pretty much stopped cause it's just too expensive.

I have one more Seven Sins figure coming out, Ranma figuarts, and I think that's really it for me. I have the Black Lady Sailor Moon figuarts as well.

I never understood the insanely high cost of some anime figures. Sure, they look great--but wow. Plus, they're not all that large. I'm glad my figure addiction extends solely to inexpensive HG 1/144 Gunpla.

The shipping box was just enough to cover the game's already large box. The LE box is long enough to fit the wall scroll inside and everything was loose inside with just a little bit of packing material to try to hold it together. It sounds bad but everything is in good shape. I'll put it this way for free shipping I'm impressed but I certainly won't be paying them the $30 they want for LEs now.

Ugh, a complete Rorona Plus in the wild is my white whale. For some reason every Gamestop in my area has completely scrambled this game up - standard game w/ Plus price sticker, Plus disk but no case, or what I ended up with - Plus disk & manual but the case for the standard version. And a manager that I've known for a really long time now called to every store in the region that showed having it in stock to find that. :whistle2:|

Cool, thanks for the info. Yeah, I doubt I'll be using them again anytime soon unless there is a LE set that is a must buy, but due to their shipping cost, and some rather lackluster experiences I've had with them in the past, I'll be taking a back seat for now.
