For those interested and in Seattle - or driving distance, there's going to be a classic game expo, Jet City Retro in Seattle next weekend.
I don't fully know all the details, but its being held at Hotel Deca in the U District and I read there will be vendors with tables (to buy/sell/trade), a room with classic consoles set up on freeplay, various tournaments and game industry speakers. Admission is $15 for one day, $20 for both days.
I'm heading up from Portland to see it, but just for Saturday only. I am planning to hang out for the whole day though if anyone cares to come, you can say hi to me. I know there's NW and Seattle area CAG's I've talked and traded with.
I've written an entry on Jet City Retro on my video game website, Specialty Gamer. Check it out here - http://www.specialtygamer.com/features/events/jet-city-retro-april-26-and-27/ Or see the official website here for full details - http://www.jetcityretro.com/
I talked with Nathan Martin who's organizing the event and agreed to an interview for Specialty Gamer, but he's pretty busy and didn't hear back after sending the questions. I will be doing a little review w/ pics on Specialty Gamer if you can't make it and want to see what it was all about.
If anyone does come to the show and you want to look for me, my real name is Brian.
And here is an actual photo of me -
Introduce yourself and we can chat. I like meeting CAG's in person. If you ask me, I can also give you a free Specialty Gamer bumper sticker, which is the new project I'm doing.
