WWE has come to an agreement on the release of Goldust (Dustin Runnels) as of today, June 14, 2006. WWE wishes Dustin the best in all future endeavors.

How many times is this now? I guess we can expect to see him back for the Rumble next year... Damn it, he's actually entertaining though, and one of the few people I'd check to see if he was on Unlimited.

Edit: - The first episode of ECW on Sci Fi dre a 2.7 rating with a 2.6 in the male 18-49 demo and a 3.1 in the 18-34 demo with an average audience of 3.4 million.

Any bets on how much it will drop next week?

Man, he does seem to come and go a lot (no pun intended).

Niceguyshawne, many of us want that hour back. You were lucky you missed it.

That is too bad. I was hoping that he would get some air time with some of the openings created by the guys going to ECW. It seems like he would have been a good fit for Smackdown with all of the gimmicky guys that they have over there.

BOO! Bring back Goldust.

They should have had him feud with Shelton Benjamin for the IC title. That could have easily added some excitement to that whole bland scenario and Mr. Benjamin himself.

goddamn sonofafucking piece of monkey shit! I can only stand so much and i's cants stands no more! I could deal with smackdown being bad, i could handle ecw's show being shit but now this crosses the line. Im going to go cry in the corner now and think back on the grand days of when goldust was actually used properly.

My only question is how the fuck does Matt Styrker still have a job and Runnels doesn't? fuck Stryker and everybody that looks like him. /end rant

Muuuuuuuuch better.

I guess this ruins my plan for it to be revealed that Sharmell is, and always has been, Goldust, with absolutely no explanation of how that is possible.

They could have at least moved him over to Smackdown to be King Booker's "court jester".

Here's something else: how does Eugene keep his job, when he's not over in the least bit and he continually loses every match he's put in? I keep expecting to see Eugene getting cut, any day now, but it's just not happening.

And I really like how Viscera is using Mark Henry's old gimmick... I'm surprised he dosen't come out to "sexual chocolate". I mean, what a waste for Charlie Haas, when he came back I was SURE he'd feud with Shelton Benjamin for the IC title, I mean two former teammates fighting each other for the belt, but nope, Haas is getting buried.

Does anyone else think Johnny Nitro and Melina make real good singles competitors? I hated them as MNM but I don't mind seeing Nitro in singles, he's quite good. And geez, the boob shots on Melina every time she comes to the ring  I don't remember them being that big before.

Who's next to go??

Eugene
Stryker
Umaga (one can dream!!!)
Viscera
Val Venis (or was he released already?)
Snitsky
Mark Henry (just me dreaming again)

I don't know anyone on Smackdown other then Henry.

If Nitro can get over (say by putting him and Melina in the new DX) then he could be the next Shawn Michaels. I'm not sure how good Nitro is on the mic though.

yeah thats my pick for who is going into the new dx, but i also kinda thought maybe edge/lita but they'll prolly go with nitro/melina since they are young and brash.

This week rocked for my fantasy team.. Sandman, Sabu, RVD, Kurt Angle.. Ken Kennedy didn't do so hot, neither did Matt Hardy, and Batista's not back yet. This was my first week playing (I had previously set up a random team and forgot to change superstars).. i'm still third to last in the league :p

I thought someone on here said that the new DX was largely just going to be Triple H and Shawn Michaels this time around? While I'd love to see them get a huge stable, I'm not sure it's gonna happen.

For some reason I see them taking the tag titles... this is something WWE fucks up royally is with the tag belt, they need more tag teams ASAP. You can get DX, the Highlanders, Spirit Squad, and shit make up two more teams.

I'll have to admit that the idea of HBK/HHH working the tag team division could be the start of revitilizing it in the WWE. Done right it would certainly bring some nice long term benefits for the company such as help build up new names, pump some excitement into the product, and make the belts feel far more important.

We'll have to see however where WWE goes with everything. It would be nice to see emphasis put on the tag team divison but sadly that does not seem to be on WWE's to do agenda list.

I could see, next week, DX force the Spirit Squad into putting the belts on the line at Vengence... I could very much see that happening. I don't see Nitro / Melina going into DX because they just broke out of a tag team and are starting to get very over (from what I see, anyways) as singles wrestlers... I don't think WWE is going to mesh them back into a large group so quickly.

I see Nitro taking the belt from Shelton at Vengence due to something Carlito does.
I thought DX was just reuniting for Vengeance and won't be a stable..
Not sure but WWE would be stupid not to take the huge amount of pops they are getting and milk it for all its worth... as long as they know when to call it quits, which they don't, so they'll drag it through the mud until its stupid.

I think I may be the only person here interested in Vengence... let's look at the card that I know of:

Randy Orton vs Kurt Angle - probably decent, Kurt Angle is a good wrestler and Randy Orton is decent too, ok match at ONS so I'm expecting the same here.

Shelton Benjamin vs Carlito vs Nitro - I'm not sure where the hate is coming from, because all three men are great workers and can pull off some amazing spots... I'm expecting good things from this one.

Spirit Squad vs DX - Eh, it's DX... hoping a big surprise will happen.

Edge vs RVD - Has potential.

John Cena vs Sabu - Has potential, Sabu will probably do something crazy, and the new John Cena is badass.

I mean, so far the card looks pretty good to me... it sure beats having John Cena fight Edge and Triple H for the 100th time.

You know to be honest Vengence on paper actually looks pretty damn good. Very damn good in fact. Only a few days until TNA Slammiversary tho... can't freakin wait. :D
Isn't Shawn Michaels having surgery on his knee after the ppv?
He already had it. It wasn't very major and he'll be back in action in time for Vengeance.

You know I really think that ONS 2 was the real ECWs way of saying sorry for what we are about to do to the name but....ZOMBIES, WITCHES, CHICKS WHO CAN NOT STRIP, VAMPIRES.... So how is TNA I have never watched it but I really am about to swear off any wwe related products for awhile, Plus TNA seems to have a lot of the folks whom I wish were in ECW

Watch it. You will see the future of wrestling (or the entire 1990's in Japan) in Samoa Joe. You won't be disappointed, though the booking/storylines leave things to be desired. They're improving over the beginning of this year, however.

Call me shallow, but I just can't get over the shape of the ring. It's like they tried to reinvent the wheel (or squared circle, as it were), and it doesn't seem to add to the experience.

I can't go into my local Best Buy now for a similar reason. Instead of straight aisles that are parallel to the store walls, all of the aisles are slanted and weird. It's kind of dizzying and unnatural...which is how it feels watching TNA matches.

So in addition to the aliens and shit, we now get shitty storylines for the.. human characters.

David Lagana has now been replaced as the lead writer for SmackDown by Alex Greenfield and will now be moved over to being a writer for the new ECW brand.

Excluding his beer drinking antics on camera, Sandman is said to have heavily cut down on his drinking in general. He also seems to have lost a lot of weight during his time away, and is now in much better physical shape.

Despite being booked as a more 'edgy' character as of late, there are no plans for John Cena to turn heel any time soon.

More news.. and a release?

SCI FI CHANNEL PINS THE COMPETITION WITH ECW'S TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO TELEVISION

'ECW' IS THE #1 CABLE PROGRAM FOR THE DAY IN TOTAL VIEWERS

SCI FI IS #1 IN CABLE FOR KEY DEMOS AT 10PM

NEW YORK June 14, 2006 SCI FI Channel premiered 'ECW' ('Extreme Championship Wrestling') last night and was the ratings victor in the 10pm hour. The return of 'ECW' with a sci-fi twist delivered a 2.79 HH and was the most-watched show on cable drawing almost 3.4 million total viewers.

The show was #1 among the key demos bringing in 1.89MM P18-49 and 1.68MM P25-54 from 10p-11p. This performance represents gains of +457% among P18-49 and +347% among P25-54 versus its prior four week time period average.

Key Ratings Performance Points:

--'ECW' on SCI FI is the best performance for any program on the network this year on P18-49s and the best P25-54 performance since the season premiere of 'Battlestar Galactica' on 1/6/06.

--'ECW' on SCI FI beat an original episode of FX's 'Rescue Me' by +14% among P18-49s and +3% among P25-54s.

--The median viewer age for 'ECW' on SCI FI was 32.3 -- sixteen years younger than the 2nd quarter to date time period average of 48.4.

World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) is an integrated media and entertainment company headquartered in Stamford, Conn., with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto and London. Additional information on the company can be found at wwe.com. and corporate.wwe.com.

SCI FI Channel is a television network where "what if" is what's on. SCI FI fuels the imagination of viewers with original series and events, blockbuster movies and classic science fiction and fantasy programming, as well as a dynamic Web site (www.scifi.com ) and magazine. Launched in 1992, and currently in 85 million homes, SCI FI Channel is a network of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies.

The PWTorch Newsletter is reporting that the backstage reaction to the debut of ECW on Sci-Fi is even worse than how most fans reacted.

One wrestler said "I don't get why they don't get it. They're trying to fake it. There's no way Paul Heyman would have written that crap."

After Rotten no-showed RAW and claimed to be taking some personal time off from wrestling, his profile has been removed from ECW.com

Right now there is no word on when or if he will be back in the new ECW.

I can't wait to see how far the ratings dive next week.

Like I said awhile ago, I just don't see the draw of Samoa Joe. He's a goofy looking no charisma guy, and I've never gotten real amped to see him whenever I've watched TNA.

I'll still watch ECW for Balls Mahoney... he's from Nutley, NJ!

That ECW wrestler list is pathetic... still no Al Snow, still no Stevie Richards.
This is an amazing piece of footage:
Was that when ECW was invading Raw back in the mid 90's or was it totally out of nowhere?
Was that when ECW was invading Raw back in the mid 90's or was it totally out of nowhere?
Prior to ECW having a few matches on Raw in 1997 to promote their first PPV, a few guys "sat in the front row" at a PPV (Mind Games?), heckled the wreslters, and were promptly thrown out when they jumped the fence. Also, this happened on WWF LiveWire, or whatever they called their Sunday show at that time.

Truth be told, both of those occurrences still exist, 10 years later, and it's impossible for anyone but the biggest insider to look at them and say if they're worked, or if they're shoots. All signs (WWF funding ECW, the timing of those situations to ECW appearing on Raw) point to a work. Why they can't seem to pull this stuff off today is beyond me. This all went down when the WWF was in the financial shit, when they almost went out of business due to declining crowds (and no video collection to truly speak of).

How, in their worst of moments, they can pull off something this fantastic, and comparatively, put out the shit they do today is so far beyond me it hurts. fucking zombies, man. fucking zombies.

I'd imagine it's been asked before, but does anyone know what happened to the licensing rights for the songs from Extreme Music Vol 1 & 2? I'd imagine they don't have rights to those songs anymore (else we wouldn't have seen Sandman come out to generic rock theme #37), but I'd be curious to the whole story behind it, if there is one.
I wonder if The Zombie will be in Resident Evil 5?
Screw that. I want to see The Zombie in that PS3 game in "ancient Japan" with giant enemy grabs that you flip on its back and attack its weak point for MASSIVE damage.

Oh, and real time fucking weapons chance mofo.

where the fuck is Impact? Did they move its timeslot and not tell anyone?

edit: it starts at 12. The official burying of TNA on Spike has begun.

Late night/early morning wrestling/philosophy 2Fast fact: I hold one of Stone Cold Steve Austin's sayings as probably the most impactful (and true) things my mind has ever encountered. D.T.A. Don't Trust Anybody.
