I felt like I was watching an episode of Raw... and then they recap shit that just happened THIRTY MINUTES AGO???

So what did we get on ECW's world premier?

- John Cena and Edge

- Sandman beating up a zombie

- Some retarded girl who can't even put on a half decent strip show

- Kurt Angle mauling Justin Credible, the dude had no offense.

- A boring crowd

- An entire recap of the shitty Tazz vs Lawler match at ONS

- A highly predictable battle royal... as soon as they said "I don't think Sabu's feet hit the ground!!" I knew he was going to come back and win it all.

Vengence is shaping up to be another ONS or WWE vs ECW, from how I see it. And I'm already getting sick of seeing the same 15 ECW stars over and over and over again.

I'm sorry, but this was the worst show I think I've ever seen... even TNA was better then this shit. Did they forget they only had an hour? The only high point in the whole show was The Big Show, and I never thought I'd be saying THAT about an ECW show.

Next weeks ECW main event?

My girlfriend is usually over here watching Raw with me on Monday nights, and I told her to watch ECW tonight to see what the crowd was all crazy about on Sunday night. She's not a huge wrestling fan, but she does like to follow it so that she's not out of the loop on Monday nights (how kind). Well, she turned on ECW tonight just as the zombie was coming out...

She called and left me a voice mail imitating the zombie's promo. Didn't say anything, just cut the zombie promo. \\:D/Needless to say it was the only thing worth talking about in relation to this show. Just awful.

the highlight of the night for me was still the mummy

his theme song was awesome

One of the good things about the old ecw was that almost every match was unpredictable.... there mostly would not be squash matches like angle and credible..

fuck credible is a former ecw world champion... i dont care what his status is now but fuck.. give him at least some offense or a decent match.. this pisses me off..obviously hes not in angles level but you need to preserve the ecw legacy

Ecw was great at building up talent and giving smaller people shots at stardom

Yea, my girlfriend is a huge Raw fan too, and ONS really blew her mind with all the crazy shit going on.

The premier of ECW let her down big time, and it's going to be hard as hell to convince her to ever watch it again. I mean, when the highlights of your show are Raw and ex Raw superstars, that's a big problem... she told me she might as well just stick to Raw from now on.

Well.. I don't know what to think.

The zombie was awful. WrestleCrap material for sure, I liked how the announcers were treating it ("I was with ECW 5 years.. what the hell is this?"). The thing about ECW is that there were never any real gimmicks. It's just a new spin. I almost think tonight was just an introduction to newbies and next week will be better. I hope. They introduced Van Dam as the champ, the "outsiders" (Edge/Cena), a whore to get non-fans to stay tuned (Sci-Fi geeks will eat that shit up), Angle's strong, Sandman's ruthless, Big Show is powerful.. etcetcetc.

The Vampire and Zombie gimmicks are pretty retarded, but no more than Gangrel and his bloodbaths. If a fat fucker that slaps his own moon-painted stomach can make it big, I'll give the Zombie a chance. Maybe next time we'll actually see a move.

The battle royal was.. okay, I guess. The commercial breaks were annoying. The squash matches were frustrating (but it IS pretty hard to cram a story, a few matches and a few promos into an hour.. they did pretty decent for an hour). Some of the best shows have had the shittiest pilots. Just.. don't write it off completely just yet. Give it a few weeks to get it up and going.

I can handle the new look. I like the black ring apron and TB's, I like the ring mat, I can even handle the WWE-ish camera angles.. the thing that kills it the most is the dead crowd (comapred to a normal ECW crowd) and the shitty theme music. And the interpromotional crap, but again, I think they're just initially getting people introduced to the product. I think they'll slowly get less and less involved once the characters (Sandman, Dreamer, Credible, etc) develop more.

I really hope tonight is not a sign of things to come. Especially two zombies in one show.... yea I'm saying two since I consider The Big Slow to be one of them.

Oh, and it would of been nice for either Styles or Tazz to have actually acknowleged Trinity being in the FBI. Oh well.

So can anyone tell me what was the point of that woman stripping down? I kept expecting some angle to happen, but nothing ever came of it... it just seemed like a monumental waste of time, espically since she dosen't even know how to take her bra off.

I was hoping maybe Sandman would come out and beat on her with some kendo sticks, since he is the killer of shitty angles (First Eugene, then a zombie.. what's next!).

Demo Man, you're crazy, Big Show was actually pretty decent tonight, he had some pretty decent spots. But it's pretty sad when you're most extreme wrestler, out of everyone there, is the Big Show. I really like how they made him out to be this unstoppable force though.

Seconded.. I really like Big Show in ECW.

Does ANYONE else feel a bit disturbed by the number of children under ten that were in the front row and made it on camera for a ECW event?

I was joking about Big Show being a zombie in my previous post. Henseforth the  I had at the end of the sentence. :D

I do agree with you Roufuss tho on him being decent tonight. Its too bad its coming at the expense of ECW homegrown talent such as Tommy Dreamer. Poor poor Tommy... what did he do to offend God so much in his younger days?

They need to...

Go back to the ballroom.

Card people so you don't have ten year olds in every camera shot. That was awful considering the product is adult oriented. Dumbass parents. Even RAW doesn't have that many kids in the front damn row.

Give Heyman full and unconditional creative control.

Worst part about this is that RAW bringing back DX, which when I was younger, had some of the best promos and ECW has a fucking zombie, a vampire and and chick that couldnt strip to save her soul. I hope ECW gets better or it will just turn into smackdown 2

It's more like Velocity 2 right now. There was 3 minutes of wrestling on the whole freaking show. Big Show cleaning house was ok, but that show was the greatest visual depiction of a clusterfuck that I have ever seen.

Just watched ECW ONS earlier today and it 's now one of my favorite top 3 wrestling shows that I have ever seen. Angle/Orton was pretty good, Sabu/Rey match was awesome (except for the ending), Dreamer/Funk vs Edge/Foley was easily the match of the night, and the Cena/RVD match was a lot better then last year's main event at ONS and the crowd reactions to it were amazing.

After watching it and being hyped up for tonights show on Sci Fi, the show tonight was terrible. I felt like I was watching a show that was made by a 6th grader. WTF does a vampire and a zombie have to do with wrestling!?!?!?!? Justin Credible was a main event when ECW was nearing it's end a couple of years ago and now he is a jobber (as evident of him getting his ass kicked by Cena last night). As much as I love ECW, I'll give it one more chance next week.

I'm still in shock about how fucking horrible that show was. I watched it with a friend of mine who was considering starting to watch again now that ECW was back... there were quite a few "I can't believe this is happening" stares going back and forth between the two of us. I'm considering watching it again just to count how many times they said the word "extreme". Yes, we know it's different, now give it a rest.

Like others have said, I'm holding out hope since they may just be introducing ECW to new fans, but wow. That was painful, and I feel bad for the ECW wrestlers and Paul Heyman for having to pretend that that show was what ECW was about.

Haha, how awesome would it have been if the Zombie's going "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".. then all of the sudden you hear the loud bang and then the screech and all the sirens turn on and New Jack flies off the top rope and hits him in the head with some shit.. I would've marked out.

What the fuck.. I have Nick at Nite on in the background or something and it's been on mute for like 2 hours.. and I turn around.. and Eric Bischoff is on my TV and Macho Man walks out in an nWo shirt. WTF? It's the Jeff Foxworthy show.

And now Macho Man's beating up on Foxworthy.

Sorry for 3 posts in a row..

I love Ebay.. was searching for "ECW Chairs" (One Night Stand) and found a chair that was signed by Sabu, Tajiri and Tanaka.. and it said..

THIS IS SUCH AN AWESOME AND RARE PIECE AND HARD TO OBTAIN AS ONLY RING SIDE TICKET HOLDERS WERE ALLOWED TO GET THE CHAIR. TO MAKE THINGS BETTER IT WAS SIGNED BY: -

THE HOMISIDAL,SUISIDAL, DEATH DEFING SADU
Yay for the homisidal, suisidal, death defing Sadu!

Apparently the vampire was the former Mordecai.

Dunno if that could be considered a spoiler, but fuckin' whatever.

I'm still flummoxed by how bad last night's show was. Is it "awesome" bad (like a good Ed Wood film), or was it so far beyond "awesome" bad that it was "unwatchable shit" bad?

no myke it was really that bad and not that "awesome bad." It had not a single redeeming quality.

Here's an interesting thought. Imagine if they try to pull off a show like *that* at the ECW arena. They'll be there on June 24 (one week from Saturday). I hope, for ECW's own sake, they can get their shit together by then.

Though, truth be told, if they do put out a show like that there, it would be fascinating to watch the results play out on television.

I thought the Zombie could work the mic better than most of WWE's current roster. If this was Smackdown or WCW I'd want them to keep him around as a joke, but not for ECW.

Maybe we'll get Zombie vs. Boogieman at Vengence.

Remember the sign at ONS that said "If Cena wins we Riot!!" I imagine if things dont improve expect to see a riot to the scale of cena getting a clean finish at ONS.

This ecw is basically the "Alliance" Ecw with its own show....

You recall that wwe was supposedly attempting to get wcw or the alliance its own show but couldnt so they just had matches on raw and stuff....

I hope they get in gear soon!

I think given a choice between eating a small piece of shit or watching last night's show for $10,000, I'd eat the shit.

God, finally. I've been waiting for a longass time for the "Heyman not happy with ECW show" news posts, and they're finally here!

The reason that Tazz and The King’s match at ECW One Night Stand was shown last night was because the show actually ran short and they had to fill time. Cues in the battle royal were also missed, which caused the production team to fix the mistakes in the 90 minute window that they had after the taping ended to before it aired on TV.

The debut ECW return show was written by Paul Heyman and then put through the WWE creative team who then edited it to how they think it should go. Paul Heyman does not have the entire control of the ECW brand as you saw last night. Vince McMahon wants the product how he sees it. Paul Heyman wrote last night’s show in order to to meet McMahon's expectations and visions of ECW.

People who saw Paul Heyman backstage at the ECW show said that it was pretty clear that he thought the show was a train wreck. Everyone in the company also felt the same way. Everyone knew that the show wasn’t how they wanted it to succeed and failed.

Ring Announcer Steven DeAngelis was called to work the ECW show but was told in the afternoon that he was not going to be used and sent home. WWE had told DeAngelis to come to the show and that he would be used however once he arrived they had changed their plans.

Justin Roberts was used instead.
Good, they recognize that there's a problem.
But it's not fixable... as long as WWE has creative control and Vince is pulling the strings, I have a feeling every show will be shitty like this one.

I knew there was a reason the show seemed so much like WWE... Heyman's influence must have been next to nothing, which is sad. I give ECW six months before it goes under again, and I rank it as a HUGE disappointment.

Joey Matthews said it regarding Tazz' decision to leave SmackDown for ECW, and I feel it is appropriate in regards to ECW.

"Am I surprised? Yes. Am I shocked? No."

Joel "ECW wants the stud muffin, and choosing me could be no finer. But the way things are on Sci-Fi is worse than One Night in Chyna." Gertner

Fonzie needs to be managing either Sabu or RVD, i miss the constant flood of yelling and blowing of the whistle not to mention the fact that he would hold the chairs for them...
Man, I wish they could get Tajiri back. He was my favorite ECW wrestler.
I thought he was part of ECW :(

It was awesome seeing him at ONS... he was easily my favorite WWE wrestler too.

His WWE debut was awesome. His WWE career should have been a bit more impactful but he always put on some nice matches. I especially liked the one he had with Rey's debut in WWE (IIRC). Man, could you imagine Tajiri in WCW when the cruiserweights were THE thing to watch?

I believe it's been discussed before, but I always felt like Tajiri was the one "bulletproof" cruiserweight, in that no matter who you put him in the ring with, there was always the slim chance that they would surprise you with a win. IIRC, he holds count-out victories over Kane, Undertaker, and Big Show.

And afterwards we can then get to listen to Lawler remind us every single week that he ran down that "Extremely Crappy Wrestling" company once again.

yea i thought it was stupid that fonzie did not come out with rvd at ons.. but he was there for the celebration..

ecw on sci fi highlight of the night for me was still sandman and zombie..
it was funny seeing all the dust come off zombie when he was hit and russian leg sweeped
