CAGiversary!
So, generally, the Jarrett/Joe match sounds like the usual TNA cluster
. The fact that you listed three things that 'protected' Joe, only one of which should be occurring in a normal match, isn't a great sign. Just saying.
I still don't understand the point of the whole MMA thing to begin with. With Joe and Angle, it was fine because it was taken seriously. That made it worthwhile. Now they're using it in a less serious manner, which probably isn't the best idea for something that is A) stomping your industry as a whole and B) on the same network you are, and obliterating you. It just kind of seems like Jarrett is doing it as a 'haha, MMA' thing, which is bizarre.
Newsflash, wrestling industry: You are not MMA. Generally speaking, your fans don't want you to *be* MMA. If they wanted to watch MMA, they'd join the millions of people that have already left you for MMA. So, you know, stop trying to even allude to it.
I don't know, I just think that if they were dead set on doing on a Jarrett/Joe program (and, at this point, I'm not itching to see a Jarrett/ANYONE program), just have them wrestle. Take it seriously. If you want Jarrett to look okay in it, go the cowardly heel route. He, by all rights, should be destroyed by Joe in a one/one match-up, so make him keep finding a way to win in some sneaky way. Jarrett, if nothing else, plays a good cocky heel. It seems easy enough... but, no, we're doing some pseudo-comedy-MMA shit.
