often but they don't drop them in large incrememnts baring a universal price change. Let's look at all those wonderful new release games that are $44.99. As for the whole preorder deal, I can see this to a degree on games such as Tales of symphonia; but when MAdden 2005 is pushed like there's no tommorow on a Preorder I sit back and laugh. I've been there and done that when i comes to the whole gamestore thing, and I can honestly say that the Used game market is the only thing I can see keeping those places in business.

You also have to realize that the current gen of consoles are nearing the end of thier respective life cycles. The same thing happened with the N64 and PSX. The products in its early stages in its life cycle are more price rigid, whereas in the later stages its more subject to price changes

You do realize that those quotes are 3 months old. :?
Dude a little insight into the world of pre-orders, Places like EB and gamestop only get "X"Amount of copies the more they get in presells that number goes up. If EB gets 1 presell they get like 20 copies of the game. No presells they get 3 copies if they get like 20 preorders they get 60 copies of the game. If no one preorders it the company thinks there is no interest in that area thus the low amount of copies of the game.
Which makes sense for games that are not mainstream. But if I am getting a mainstream game like Halo2 or Madden 2005... I'm sure to find a copy at Best Buy... there is no need to preorder unless you are offerring some sort of bonus.

The only reasons I preorder anything is 1. They call me and remind me when the game is released and 2. I usually get it a day before its released to Target or BestBuy
