I feel kind of weird just paying $75 to order a copy of MLB 2k6 for the xbox 360. That price tag is just ridiculous. Gaming prices are getting out of control and it is starting to piss me off. Getting to the point where I have to pay $75 to get a new 360 game when it launches.

Sure the price could have only been $65 if I use standard shipping, but I'm thhe kind of person who likes to get the new games ASAP so I use overnight shipping. And as you may or may not know I live hewe in winnemucca Nevada and my only gaming retailer is wal-mart. And the chances of them getting MLB this week are slim to none, and slim just left town. (A little quote I heard today) Hell my wal-mart hasn't even got in kingdom hearts 2 yet, which is also pissing me off.

Anyways back on point, $75 to get a new game is out fucking stupid!

Seriously, if you know and have acknowledged how ridiculous it is to spend that much on a new game....then why buy it?

ahhh its you again!!! To the OP, its your own fucking fault for getting overnight shipping... seriously, dont complain when its your own fucking fault its so expensive.
Anyways back on point, $75 to get a new game is out fucking stupid!
So why the hell did you buy it? Did someone hold a gun to your head and tell you that you are to buy it or else your brains will be blown out? Was a hot chick offering you a "full meal deal with all the fixings and desert" just to buy it? Okay then I doubt either happened (especially the second one) so if anything you are the one who is fucking stupid since nobody but yourself made you buy it for $75. Yeesh there are far better priorities in life than a game - especially a baseball game that within a year will be in a discount bin.
Seriously, if you know and have acknowledged how ridiculous it is to spend that much on a new game....then why buy it?
LOL.

Yes, that's a lot to dump into a game.

But what's even crazier, it's a sports title. It pains me to pay $7.50 for a sports title since they drop so fast, let alone $75.

To each his own though. As long as you're happy about the purchase, that's all that matters.

So not only did you buy MLB 2K6, but you paid $15 or so above retail to do it? That's the antithesis of being a cheapassgamer... it's just dumb.

I was gonna mention that too but I didn't want to get all the sports game fanboys in a tizzy.
ahhh its you again!!!
Haha, you thought you could get rid of me?!?! :D

HEY YOU. STOP TALKING TO YOURSELF.

you paid $75 for a sports game!?

you should be banned for a week to think about what you did and to meditate on the fact that this is called cheapassgamer.com

Actually $75 games were quite common in the days of the SNES. I believe $75 is what my mother paid for Street Fighter II when it first came out. I think Chrono Trigger was $75 as well. The most I ever paid was $70 something for a new Tales of Destiny II from Defender's old site and $79.99 for Growlanser Deluxe. I don't make a habit of spending that much but as long as you enjoy the purchase that's all that matters.

I new the hate on sporting titles would come, theres nothingnon sport fan gamers love to rip on more than spending money on a sports title. It's an Addiction I have loved sports all my life, basketball, football, baseball, I love them all dearly. I have other opinions on gamers who hate on sports, but thats not what this thread is for.

And to answer another user about it being my fault for spending $75 I am fully aware of that. It is an addiction to buy all the new video games, and I think by spending $75 on one game I realized my addiction and just how sad it is that developers keep jacking up prices and I keep paying them.

There is a major difference between "Chrono Trigger" and "MLB 2K6." The former is still worth its price since its a great classic game. The other one... well.... consider yourself lucky if its worth $5 in three years.

Lol $75 for a sports game. But it's his money he's free to do whatever he wants with it.

I haven't seen any reviews yet so I'm going to assume it's garbage like most sports games. Hopefully it's a good game though. Enjoy!

True, it's just that $75 for a game isn't unheard of.

Well, admitting that you have a problem is the first step towards rehabilitation. C'mon everybody, I think it's time for a Cheapass Intervention!
Don't order games online.

Otherwise you can't get an unsuspecting clerk to check you out.
 I suddenly had the urge to go eat cookies.

Would you spend $75 on out of anything a freakin sports game..... and a common one at that?
Would you spend $75 on out of anything a freakin sports game..... and a common one at that?
Well, the way sports games are now there are exclusive licensing agreements so prices are going to be higher for a long time. A sports game fan is no less a video game fan than someone who spends $150 on Suikoden II. I wouldn't actively look to spend that much if I could help it though.

Man pimpinc333, I got mine complete for $74.99 used. I guess I got lucky.
ahhh its you again!!! To the OP, its your own fucking fault for getting overnight shipping... seriously, dont complain when its your own fucking fault its so expensive.
HAHAHAH you said it man, it's every like that even in Canada that's why I pay for cheapest shipping and I got patience.(yes I whine but wow not Online....)

Also good point no point of being on this forum if you are gonna spend the most of your paycheck on a crapy game, heck I rather buy booz for that money you spent on that game.
I spent 125.00 on a USED Disc only Shining Force 3 for Saturn. That was when I was a stupidassgamer.
HAhAhAHAhA aww man I haven't pulled one of those in a while.

It's not really a problem I like to spend my money, I have alot of money then spend it all on games or clothes or something and then am broke for a week until I get paid again. Rinse and repeat.

It's just the purpose of the thing. Having to spend $75 is a little much. I remember I could get a brand new game overnight shipped for only $60. god damn were those the days.

And to all that said don't order online you must not of read my OP as I live in a hick town and my only gaming outlet is a wal-mart who's selection is lackiluster at best.

Spend most my check!!! what the fuck you think I work at mcdonalds or some shit like that!. fuck I make enough to cover this spending in one days work, and still have money left over to buy cookies.

I think it makes you an EAG (Expensive Ass Gamer).
You should not be on CAG if you're spending $75 on a game!
I get this from people, not directly to you penguin, who will willingly spend $100+ on old classic games, Which I think is a waste of money. But I don't go around telling people that.

If this thread would have been that I just spent this amount on suikoden II Everybody would say good job, nice work. But I bought a sports game, so that just changes everything now doesn't it.

Sorry but the grammar made me grumpy. Please, help a CAGer out and type so we can read what you are thinking. The following edit of your last post is simply from a readibility point of you and does not take into account your grammar.

It's an addiction. I have loved sports all my life such as basketball, football, baseball, to name a few. I love them all dearly. I have other opinions on gamers who hate Sport genre video games but I digress.

And to answer another user about it being my fault for spending $75 I am fully aware of that. I can' t figure out what you are actually saying with this paragraph. I think you are trying to say that you are trying to justify your expenditure by showing that you are an 'addict'.

My brain hurts reading this.
I think it makes you an EAG (Expensive Ass Gamer).
I've actually always been a fan of RAG (Rich Ass Gamer).

The problem is that the game costs $60... and you probably could have used a $5 off coupon at Best Buy to get it for $55... instead, you paid $20 more than you had to. It's not about what kind of game it is -- it's the fact that it's easily obtainable for far less.

Do what I did- I got an Xbox after the price drop, and played the hell out of it. Last week I just got a PS2. There are a kajillion games out there cheap. I got Ace Combat 5, God of War, and MGS3 subsistence for $18. I am set for months.

When ther Xbox 360 is cheaper, I will buy one then.

Well, if Mr Ryles makes six figures, that's great for him. Developers and publishers need folks like Mr Ryles to support those budgets. Ying and Yang; Mr Ryles is RAG, so we can be CAGs. Thank you Mr Ryles!

;) Today, I got me a X-Men Legends II: ROA strategy guide at BB for a penny! woooo-whoo!

Damn. You should be disowned from CAG. You just outcasted yourself. Paying that much for a sport title is ridiculous.

Yup yup reminds me of the SNES days as well. Worse I ever did was spent $75 plus tax on a preordered Final Fantasy VI. Worth every damn penny though.

Last week I blew $70 on Oblivion Collectors Edition. And dammit, that was worth it too.

Overall though... I'm conflicted. I don't blame the developers for charging $60, NO MORE THEN THAT, for new 360/PS3 games. Since... looking at these games, they just GOTTA cost more to develop, yeesh. As a cheapass, it annoys me to no end. But usually... I just wait til the prices come down and never pay full retail.

It's gonna suck when $30 is the new Greatest Hits price though. THAT will piss me off if it comes to pass.
