For Portland, OR area CAG'ers:
(As of March, 3, 2004, all prices listed are before discount)
I went to the KB Toy Works at the Gateway shopping center tonight. Video Games and accessories are now 40% off!
No consoles, but lots of games.
XBox:
They had a small selection of games. Most were sports titles, but there were a few copies of Ghost Recon and another game I can't remember the title of. As for XBox accessories, there was one RF switch left.
Playstation/PS2:
There was a lot of Playstation and PS2 stuff left. Not a lot of the more popular games but a lot of good titles, notably Mega Man X7, Wreckless The Yakuza Missons (1 copy left at $19.99 before discount) , and Virtua Fighter 4 and many more. There were some long box PSX titles as well, priced at $4.99 before discount. Other PSX games went from $9.99 - 14.99 before discount, notably a Mega Man title.
There are also a lot of PSX/PS2 accessories as well, including first and third party memory cards, a third party PS2 starter kit (w/ controller and DVD remote) for $19.99 before discount, and several third party controllers at different prices, no higher than $14.99 before discount.
Gamecube:
Lots of Gamecube titles remaining. Notably, there was 1 copy of Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour at $49.99 before discount, and a few of 1080 Avalanche at $49.99 before discount as well. There is still a big selection of games. Not much for accessories though.
Gameboy Advance
There is still a good number of GBA titles. No accessories.
Older systems:
There was a third party Dreamcast controller for $2.99. Also, there were a lot of third party N64 rumble paks.
There was also a sign near the cash registers that said that the Gateway store will remain open until they sell off all the merchandise. The Lloyd Center and Vancouver Plaza stores are already closed. I don't remember if it said anything about the Tanasbourne (Beaverton/Hillsboro area) store, but I'm assuming it's still open for the time being since it wasn't listed in the closed stores but it's on the list of closing stores.
I didn't buy anything myself. There were a few I was eyeing but I only had $24 on me at the time. I'll probably go back this weekend or sometime next week, and I will post an update when I do.
Hope that helps out a Portland area CAG or two.
And of course, to all those who are working or worked at a KB Toy store that is closing or has been closed, I wish you all the best of luck finding a new job.
