CAGiversary!
Hey guys... we got the bad news today :( . This is the full list of KB Toys that are closing. Between now and February 11th, Inventory Closing Sales SHOULD be starting at these stores. From first hand experience, one that closed around here went up to 90% off selected games, i could have gotten Metroid Prime for 3.59 new. Definitly look around at these places and keep calling to see if/when the sales are starting. The stores will only be open for another month or so.

SALES MOST LIKELY WONT BE ANNOUNCED FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS!" Thanks daphatty :)

We sold out the inventories to a liquidator, so the sales should be sweet... and cheap ass :D Enjoy guys.
:p

For Portland, OR area CAG'ers:

(As of March, 3, 2004, all prices listed are before discount)

I went to the KB Toy Works at the Gateway shopping center tonight. Video Games and accessories are now 40% off!

No consoles, but lots of games.

XBox:
They had a small selection of games. Most were sports titles, but there were a few copies of Ghost Recon and another game I can't remember the title of. As for XBox accessories, there was one RF switch left.

Playstation/PS2:
There was a lot of Playstation and PS2 stuff left. Not a lot of the more popular games but a lot of good titles, notably Mega Man X7, Wreckless The Yakuza Missons (1 copy left at $19.99 before discount) , and Virtua Fighter 4 and many more. There were some long box PSX titles as well, priced at $4.99 before discount. Other PSX games went from $9.99 - 14.99 before discount, notably a Mega Man title.
There are also a lot of PSX/PS2 accessories as well, including first and third party memory cards, a third party PS2 starter kit (w/ controller and DVD remote) for $19.99 before discount, and several third party controllers at different prices, no higher than $14.99 before discount.

Gamecube:
Lots of Gamecube titles remaining. Notably, there was 1 copy of Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour at $49.99 before discount, and a few of 1080 Avalanche at $49.99 before discount as well. There is still a big selection of games. Not much for accessories though.

Gameboy Advance
There is still a good number of GBA titles. No accessories.

Older systems:
There was a third party Dreamcast controller for $2.99. Also, there were a lot of third party N64 rumble paks.

There was also a sign near the cash registers that said that the Gateway store will remain open until they sell off all the merchandise. The Lloyd Center and Vancouver Plaza stores are already closed. I don't remember if it said anything about the Tanasbourne (Beaverton/Hillsboro area) store, but I'm assuming it's still open for the time being since it wasn't listed in the closed stores but it's on the list of closing stores.

I didn't buy anything myself. There were a few I was eyeing but I only had $24 on me at the time. I'll probably go back this weekend or sometime next week, and I will post an update when I do.

Hope that helps out a Portland area CAG or two.

And of course, to all those who are working or worked at a KB Toy store that is closing or has been closed, I wish you all the best of luck finding a new job. :)

UPDATE FOR CHICAGO STORE

I went to the closing KB in Merchandise Mart downtown today (40-60% off).

PS2: They still have a decent amount of stock, but not many good deals. I picked up Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution for about $13 after rebate which I thought was a good price. They also had JakII and Ratchet and Clank:GC for about $26 after discount.

X-Box: Not too many titles left. Counter-Strike for $30 after rebate and Shenmue2 for like $9 after rebate, which I assume is a great price (I don't have an X-Box).

Gamecube: Pretty much every game was at $50 before rebate (about $30 after rebate), but they still have a decent stock, including plenty of 1080 Avalanches, some Wind Waker (good for $30), Mario Golf, Sould Caliber 2 (that might have been cheaper) and a couple other decent games.

GBA: I wish that I had a GBA, because it had by far the best and most plentiful stock. Most games were $18 after discount, but some were lower. I remember seeing Metroid Fusion, Wario Ware, Advance Wars 2, Golden Sun, Zelda: Four Swords, and a ton of other games.

They also had a couple Genesis games (priced at about $3 AR), a couple ludicrously priced DC games (Quake 3 or DOA2 for $30 AR), and some PS1 games (Vagrant story for $30 AR, but most were way overpriced).

A bunch of third party memory cards and controllers and such were still there too, but nothing of note. I spend a while there, so if anyone has questions about whether they had a game, lay it on me.

The KB in the Valencia Town Center is now 40-60% off, with the games being 40% off. Some stuff left, no systems. However, they are getting a shipment of more stuff on Tuesday from another KB that is closing.

I bought Wario Ware at 40% off in Green Bay WI.

I saw a copy of Vagrant Story for $45 before discount. Should I have picked that up? If for no other reason than to re-sale?

Are any stores in NYC having any good sales? I live in the Bronx and have not seen or heard anything worth posting. Please advise!!!

The store at the Waterfront in Pittsburgh, PA is at 40% off games. Bought Metroid Prime for $18+ tax, they had 1 more copy left.

I got off work early and decided to stop at the KB here in Reseda since I saw a sign that says 40-60% off and I remembered that they had some Wind Wakers left over when it was still 20% off. So i head down there and not only are most of the games gone...including zelda...but they're selling beach spikers for the cube for 40% off sticker price! course the sticker price was 54.99!!!!!! jesus...i think i bought that game for 10 bucks.

hey, i was just there this afternoon....youre right, the games they have left are still overpriced....

I'm very surprised they still have Genesis games left! Please tell me what Genesis games they still have there? I think $30 for Dead or Alive 2 (Dreamcast) is a pretty good deal. DOA 2 is not easy to come by brand new factory sealed, nowadays...

$13.99-8 hours left

Homestead, PA (Waterfront): Ico (PS2) is in stock for $12.50 (they had a few left this evening). I also picked up the last Duke Nukem Advance for $17 (both are prices after 50% off). The last time I was there was a couple weeks ago, and they didn't have as much as they have now. They also had some N64 and Dreamcast games (Sega Rally for $5).

They must have gotten a transfer from another closing store.
Hey, XCutioner93, did you happen to see if they had any copies of Fire Emblem left at the Serramonte store?
There's almost nothing good left. There are a few Xbox games (sports only), and several GC and PS2 games (can't recall what they were). I don't think there are anymore GBA games left though unfortunately (I was looking for Fire Emblem as well, but had no luck finding one). I believe they are closing on Sunday or Monday.
