Killzone 2 - Gen. Discussion & Info
Did you now? :whistle2:k

;)
You bet. If I ever set up my bluetooth device, you'll hear me chasin' you down, sayin' "where's that moz lovin' motherfucker at???"

:) You would have heard me (mak too) but I was using Party Chat on XBL while playing KZ2.

ReRo might have heard me laugh at him in that last game though when I did switch over.
Man, I keep playing in games where I have to play as the tactician (C4, territory control), engineer (defend the ass target, C4, body count), assault (propaganda and ass target), and saboteur (personal fav til' scout, body count, ass target). I have to single-handedly win every game I join in because no one on my team bothers to stay on point with objectives, they just like running around killing people.

I have seen them run right by the speaker and territory and C4 placements just to go buckwild.
Honestly did you expect anything more? This is the PS3 version of a mindless shooting fest.
im in. has anyone honestly earned this ribbon?
Cool. Let me know when you want to boost those drones, wotcher.
Honestly did you expect anything more? This is the PS3 version of a mindless shooting fest.
Sadly, that's what most shooters turn into. It happened in MGO where half the rooms were just TDM, and half the rooms in KZ2 are just TDM.
(personal fav til' scout, body count, ass target).
doesnt surprise me one bit. youre a great sniper.

I heard something...

the funny thing is that I didn't join ur room because I saw you there, I just randomly was looking for games >_<

All I have left for sub jobbing is the tactician arial attacks (fucking will take forever) and the C4 specialist... so far I've got 2 or 3 for the C4... at least that's easier than the tactitian.
I was playing pistol only last night and unlocked the magnum that way. Is that what you're referring to or something else?

You just need 10 kills and they don't even all have to be by the gun... meele kills were counting for me too.
Oh hey man .. I thought your name here on CAG was Darknyss as well :dunce:. Anyway, I was with you in those pistol games. I didn't unlock a single pistol ribbon. Since I couldn't get it to happen I just worked on the boost medal instead (which I got).

I realize the only real way to get he pistol in a pistol game is playing with a small group of people. too much and it's chaos and you can usually only get up to 5 kills.

Yup. Also, the pistol games are great for the medic and beat down ribbons.

:p I'm still around 150 points from General, so I'm not there yet.

Doesn't help the opposition one bit that it's a one hit kill gun. At least in resistance 2 it made you earn your kills, but this game does make it a bit harder to get headshots than your usual FPS MP.

The interesting thing about this is that after every shot the reticle goes nuts. Most others just go "bam!" and reset quickly but this is more Metal Gear style, which is cool.

I won't be playing online for awhile though, once RE5 gets in my hands, that's all I'll be playing along with some SFIV, I felt bad that I dropped it completely once I picked up KZ2.

I haven't played online yet since I'm still doing the campaign. Everything up to now has been pretty sweet but I can only imagine how great the multiplayer game is at the moment.

Yeah, I know you were there... that's why I wasn't sure we were talking about the same thing lol. I could have sworn you got 10+ kills on some of those games. Were you using grenades too?

PS. I wish my CAG username matched my PSN tag. I registered on this site way before I had a PS3. :whistle2:(

I only threw a grenade if someone threw one at me first but I never got more than a kill or two with it. And I would only get one melee kill max per game. So I'm not sure why it wasn't working for me. Oh well.

And you could send Cheapy an email and ask him to change your name for you.

grenade kills are super helpfull once you feel comfortable with the physiscs. I now use walls to bounce them off of. To get real good though, and I'm not good at it yet, is learning how long to cook grenades.

I think I have cooking down. I'm not usually conscious of it but when I do use grenades they almost always send Higs to kingdom come.

The physics on the grenades are sorta weird. On one level, you run, throw it, they'll go far. On another, do the same thing, and they'll land at your feet.

Like my real cooking skills, when I try to cook a grenade, it usually blows up in my face so what I tend to use them is either in closed areas where I can toss them through a window or use them to get rid of those pesky turrets. I find that by the time I get a grenade off, I could have killed my target with a burst or two from my rifle aim at their upper body/head.

I have trouble throwing nades in small openings like the bunkers above the stairs where you have to plant C4. Half the time I can make it in, but I keep fking it up and sometimes it'll bounce right back to me O_O

The most I've ever gotten was 3
I haven't even played the SP yet, it's been all MP
Yeah I never played it an ounce and turned on the Multiplayer and bam 3.5 hours is gone...

Now my question is why I have waited so long to play these in multiplayer... My cell phone internet and wifi max all running off my laptop worked great. No lag at all.

I've had this game since release date and have only gotten up to the third level of single player, lol :p Then again, once I hit general in MP I had no real ambition to play anymore MP either so :/

That's the same. I'm only about three levels into the campaign and I don't really care too much about it. Maybe I'll finish it some time this month, maybe not. Same with the MP, once I hit General, I have no desire to continue playing, though I find it fun and I don't totally suck at it. CoD4 has ruin online shooters for me with their whole leveling system.

I guess I never notice this before, but either my character is got his shins blown off like Hank's dad in King of the Hill or everybody else is a giant. What is up with that.

the campaign gets better after the first 3 levels to be honest, but it's not a huge leap of better-ness-ness....ness.

I'm still ticked off that people consider the engineer turrets to be useless...? I can only say that people think so because they don't know how to place turrets in places that actually make them headshot beasts.

We've determined that we don't see through the characters eyes. We figure we really see through his shoulder/chest area.

Pretty over-rated game so far on first impressions. How did the developers not notice your eye-line looks at a person's chest?! Hopefully CAG Night can redeem the multiplayer as ranking is bull since only 1 class is unlocked which ain't fun with any badges to combat those with experience. Pretty disappointed that both sides don't have their own Army-issued weapon and they half-ass it with half the weapons by not giving them an iron sight mode. Sony's marketing got me playing in shanty towns galore, and gasp, a dusty shanty town! Way to mix it up...

Got the spot and mark ability for all classes last night. That plus sniper rifle is awesome. It even points out disguised people from a distance. :twoguns:

Really disappointed right now. Killzone 2 and the Xbox 360's RRoD issues swayed me [and left me] with no other choice than a PS3. I'd have a hard time recommending this game to a friend which is weird since it has the best enemy AI for an FPS I played since Halo: Combat Evolved. Never played any other Killzone besides this one so maybe this is my fault, but I was under the impression that "Killzone" was about fusing modern weapons in a sci-fi setting with strong winks to the WWII theater of war [Helghast = Third Reich] which I was all aboard on; except they half-assed it with the most crucial element, weapons! By not allowing each side the dignity of issuing their own yin to the enemy's yang that one would expect after WWII games executed that part so well. Instead one rocket launcher is supplied for both sides (weird since I saw a rocket launcher with a reflex scope in a Killzone 2 developer walkthrough in like 2008). Only the Helghasts get a sniper. Only the ISA get a weapon with a reflex scope. Who let a Garry's Modder develop a weapon with this 'Bolt Gun' - I kid you not. Lately with modern shooters, I think there's no excuse for all weapons to not have iron sights (only half have them here). Which means there's like, what, 4 worthwhile weapons this game has to chew through? Pathetic when in the age of modern shooters like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Battlefield: Bad Company.

I had high hopes for the singleplayer campaign to hold a narrative like CoD4:MW's had - I'm two chapters away and I just want this whole thing to stop throwing these "ambushes" my way! I've seen shanty town #1 with green tint and now they throw shanty town #3 with dust storm which is just titling my sensations!

I've logged maybe 2.5 hours in this game's multiplayer and I haven't unlocked any other class besides the vanilla one each noob gets which is beyond frustrating as I believe the game shouldn't of locked any classes to begin with! Had the game had more weapons than it has then they could of been the rewards for ranking. The game makes you work for each kill which would be easier if these god-damn "Generals" with their Saboteurs and badge combinations would get out of the "Noob Only" games!!! :bomb: Oh, yeah, I hear off-handed comments about "Yo man, use the 'Epic' ribbon! It gives you 3x more points!" so can someone tell me more about these "ribbons"? Can't find ribbons in the menu to start off with. I'm counting on the CAG Nights to make the adventure worth while...

Thank god the controller set-up called "Alternative 2" was there, I couldn't imagine playing an FPS like the way they listed as the other options - crouch is frustrating for an L2 button (is it so hard for your customers to customize their way developers?!).

I completely disagree about weapons, COD 4 I felt had too many weapons with only minimal differences that unlocking something new seemed rather pointless unless it was one of the few weapons I really liked, but I never felt a need to try all of them for more than 20 seconds. In Killzone I have used every weapon I have unlocked and find myself finding situations where I would prefer each.

The slow level gaining I find perfect for me to figure out uses for each class and unlock the new abilities before moving on.

I also agree with this, I only ever used one or two weapons in CoD4, single player or multiplayer, but that's not the case for me in Killzone, where each weapon genuinely has its own strong points and it gives me a motivation to try each one.

As for leveling in order to get classes, it's just incentive to keep playing, CoD4 has this too, I don't see the problem.

man its so hard to get does turret kills! they need to increase damage a bit more. i find my self desperately waiting until i can create another turret next to the other ones i have built to increase damage output. they need to fix the 4 spawn and 4 turrets out at each time.......love the multiplayer regardless..... i sure GG is in the works already.

The engineer turrets along with the tactician air bot are both useless. They don't have enough power and you have to share them with every other person who is also using that class. I'm not afraid to run in front of either of them to get to where I need to go like I would be in TF2. Like I said before, I get more points taking out enemy turrets/bots than I would using them. I very rarely get headshotted by them either. Try switching to another class and see your points rack up.

Yeah the fact that you have to share them, along with sharing spawn points is bogus. But that's why you need good communications. Ideally, there should be two engineers, one tactician per team. Anything more than one tactician is stupid as one person can cover two spawn points fine, and unless you're extremely good with the default gun that tacticians use, you should be a soldier because then you can have that gun and other perks.

Thats IMHO of course.

I have... I've played all classes thuroughly... sure my points go up, but I have less kills. I have all job badges including secondary except tactician.

I still say people don't place turrets in the right places. you walk by them uncaring because people put them right next to where people pass... they need to put them above places are.

Turrets are decent, but my biggest gripe is the limit of four for a team. That's why I don't even bother with the Engineer class anymore. Everytime I get into a game, the limit has been maxed already.

The turrets' power is fine. I think it should be a limit of two per an ENG and the max per team should vary depending on how many players are in the game.

You have a 0.70 kill ratio.
