That's what annoys about undercover boss. Most of the time the workers are goody two shoes. I want to see some horrible employees.
There's been like 1 crappy worker in the entire history of the show (Hooters).

The show is also done as a PR campaign for the companies on it. You will never ever ever see the crappy workers we hear about in this thread on UCB: Kmart.

Completely agree I was interested about the idea then to find out it's basically a one hour advertisment for a certain company.
Blast.... guess I have to use my coupon on something I don't want then. That's unfortunate.
I would just use the coupon on a points card for your platform of choice, and buy SF4 Arcade as DLC instead of on disc.
I wouldn't worry too much about it sucking. A PC press build got leaked and most of the impressions I read were very positive. It should be a solid game, by all accounts. Fingers crossed. After this, we just need Thief 4 (or Thi4f... ugh...) to get released.
It should probably be T4ief.
(funny i never made the sears corporate/sears tower connection until i was there this weekend, lol)
Even more ironic is that now it's no longer owned by Sears and no longer named the Sears Tower.

Yea, that dude was so horrible that it almost seemed fake. Didnt he make the waitresses eat plates of baked beans with their hands behind their backs?

We still call it that. You won't find many Chicagoans or Suburbanites making reference to any Willis Tower for a good while yet.

I never hear anybody call it the Willis Tower.

Any time someone says its the Willis tower to my face I punch them right in the mouth.
Lol, it is instore actually. Preorders coming to. It should be pretty painless.
It's hard enough for us to get games that are already out, I can't imagine how painful this process will be :(

"You want to what this game?"
"Preorder."
"What? Like, order it before it comes out?"
"Yes, and pick it up the day it comes out."
"Oh, we never get games the day they come out. You should get it at Gamestop, they get games the day they come out."

:dunce:

And then you hand them a free Mortal Kombat T-shirt?

I can't stop doing my job though and provide the assets to make us relevant. I wish I had more control over certain things for sure.

As long as it's painless, I guess one concern I have myself is just that situation. Preordering a game and then having to argue with the employees to get my game. I want to be an easy go in, get my preorder, walk out with coupon, taking under 5 minutes. Also another concern is employees selling stuff I did preorder because of them not knowing it's a preorder and such. Nothing against K-mart but it's just some experiences with employees worry me about these things.

But you are doing your job excellently. You know, you have restored my faith in the k-mart brand. With your customer service and willingness to make our experiences as good as possible, you not only want to make me shop there, but I also feel good about supporting a company that does indeed care about it's customers. I can't say that about any other store, and that's why I really want to support k-mart, because they do care, even if the employees suck sometimes.

Just keep trying, I know a lot of us who hardly ever went to Kmart, are going every week now. Plus, I'm buying a ton of non-gaming related items when I go, so you have definitely made a difference.

What would be interesting to me and probably others is to give us an idea on the game sales over the last year (or since you started offering the deals) compared to before when they didn't put anything on sale or cared about video games.
Yea, that dude was so horrible that it almost seemed fake. Didnt he make the waitresses eat plates of baked beans with their hands behind their backs?
Yeah, he was a sexist manager, working at a hooters, go figure. BUT he had the highest grossing store in the area, so he was doing something right. He just didnt treat his employees well, though his customers were satisfied enough to keep coming back.

Nope, officially it's "Thi4f." God only knows why.

Now be honest, are you sure it wasn't a particular shirt emblazoned with a particular game of the fighting genre that compelled you to hit them?

EDIT: Curses! Didn't see DPsycho's reply. Damn your posting punctuality!

When the online store starts matching those deals what kind of downstream impact will that have?

If everyone on CAG starts ordering from the site, and the store sales drop I would imagine that would be a clear indicator of your success vs. the stores- but won't that hurt the bottom line if we aren't coming in the store to buy other items?
Has anyone experienced this before? I tried using my $20 coupon from the LA Noire deal to buy a $20 psn card. The register stated that the "reward was not met" or something like that. The cashier then tried using it on Alice ps3 instead but the same issue occurred. The cashier waited to scan the coupon after he hit total, and he also scanned my sywr card before that. Did we do something wrong?
This happened to me yesterday too when I was trying to use my $20 from Infamous but I only tried the PSN card. I'll probably pick up Alice to see if it will work.

I went to Kmart, just freaking terrible customer service or should I say lack of. I waited in electronics for well over 20 minutes for help, not a single employee in the section at all. Wanted to see if they had Alice, and my coupon expire saturday, and cant buy anything with my $20 gaming coupon cause I cant find a single employee to help me, just poor service.

I hope you're able to work out something good for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.

One of my favorite series, even when it was just the same game over and over again for years. New one looks really cool.

I think these games don't get a lot of mainstream attention but they do pretty well, especially since this one is on PS3 again after AC6, and that fanbase is mainly a Playstation one.

Best to go to the customer service desk and ask or complain in this situation instead of just standing around. Kmart does not staff their stores like a target or walmart, unfortunately, and thus you may be required to do a little extra effort.

Every time I read this thread I always see people complain that no one was at the electronics section and they stood around waiting for ridiculous amounts of time. I've had to wait for a while one time when the person with the video game case keys left the building for a break and had to be paged, but I've never just stood in electronics for more than a couple minutes waiting for someone to come along. I'll hunt someone down if there's no one there. Maybe people are leaving out that they called for someone, but I always wonder who the hell stands in the electronics section for half an hour waiting?

Hell, I still call the Bishop Ford the "Calumet Expressway".
My mom sometimes calls MLK Jr Dr. as "South Park".
The Ion whatever building will always be the Standard Oil bldg.

That dont make it right ;)

What'chu talkin' bout Josh?!?
Arent you from Michigan anyway? :)

MLK Jr Dr here in Tampa used to be called Buffalo and the old timers will call it that still from time to time. Probably racist overtones there though...

I think the problem is that electronics is usually the busiest place in the store(around here anyway). The fact that most of their stores don't even have somebody working in electronics full time is completely ridiculous.

If they don't want to staff the area, put in a bell or some way to contact them. Making every person who needs something there hunt down an employee is completely unacceptable.

all the stores I have been to have a big red button you can push to have someone paged.

IMO, if K-Mart really wants to become a larger player in video game sales, taking in pre-orders, etc., then they need to revamp the electronics section of their stores similar to what Best Buy is doing: Dedicated employees in the video game (in K-Mart's case, the electronics section) all of the time, even wearing different colors then the rest of the employees. These employees should be trained on K-Mart's policies, pre-order process, etc., and be required to keep up on new releases and the K-Mart gamer blog.

i would gladly take that job...

That would probably explode the staffing costs at my locals at any given time.

I've never seen more than 4 employees at work. I'm also pretty sure I'm the only kmartgamer regular around me, at least the only one who is active. All of the good stuff sits around, clearance stays for months etc..

So I went to my closest (20 miles) Kmart today, I wanted to get a points card with my coupon. They didn't have any, not a big deal, I'll just get a psn card. None of those either. By that point I was getting desperate, and was just going to buy Alice. Lol, none in stock for either system. I ended up buying Professor Layton and...a Turtwig stylus!
It was a little frustrating that nothing was in stock, but at least the employee that helped me was nice, if somewhat puzzled.

I agree that no one should have to hunt down an employee, but that doesn't mean that I would just stand there in the electronics section for 30 minutes waiting for someone to come along. Who does that?

Heh, the Kmart I go to has had the same bell at the desk since the early 90's. Of course, no employee is usually within earshot of the bell...so I have to call the Customer Service desk anyway.

The guy has no logic and likes to tell us all about how he decided that he wanted a tuna fish sandwich while he was walking around the town thinking of which store might have the clearance items that he desires so that he can further tell us what may be going on inside of his head.

On topic, I'm looking forward to the deals being brought online because the closest Kmart is a 30 min. drive and the people are not fun to deal with at all. Plus, they never carry PSN cards and I haven't seen a card in over a year. I had to drive to a further out Kmart in order to use the last coupon I had before it expired. I am a strong supporter of what Josh has been doing and hope that his efforts continue to see progress. :applause:

Only Employees I seen was 2 at the front registers with about 6-7 customers in each line, and no one at customers service, I am NOT that desperate to save a few bucks. Honestly, they had a big box of The new transformers game for 360 just sitting on top of the electronic's checkout counter (probably like 20-30 copies), someone could of easy swiped them (no security case or nothing), thats why Im baffled no one was in the electronics. Oh well Kmart does have great deals on new release games, but I will not force them to take my money, will just pay a few extra dollars and go to best buy.

Is it me or are the kmart sales lacking lately. I havent had to step foot into a kmart in a month or more. Not since LA noire came out. Since around that time, BB and others have been knocking it out of the park. Im hoping this is just temporary and due to josh having his personal issues to deal with and not a sign of things to come.

Looking at the schedule, I dont see a game I need to get until gears. Also, seeing how kmart is playing catch up with preorders and downloadable characters for preordering, they already lost that sale as ill be preordering and buying gears at BB.

Huh, looking at the June recap deal list on the KmartGamer site, I don't see where we were beat that bad (if it all) to be honest.

Add in the PS3 offer this week and the Alice deal and I'm pretty happy how the month went.
will the NCAA deal be good???
It's a $20 coupon. Which I hope is still considered very good lol!

Best buy had a few good sales combined with their gamer magazine coupons where you were able to get dragon age 2 and shift 2 for $15 each plus the 50% off used games coupon. Then toys r us had the 2 games for $50 which included fear 3, la noire, mortal kombat etc.
It's a $20 coupon. Which I hope is still considered very good lol!
Pfft. Anything less than a $40 coupon is worthless. I'll just go to GameStop, trade in 15 games to get it and get some DLC uniforms instead. That's a REAL deal...

On a serious note, Josh, any word on either carrying or confirmed deals for the following:
El Shaddai
Otomedius Excellent
No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise

I don't THINK any of those have been discussed yet. Hope I didn't miss it.
Also, any final word on any kind of deal on Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition? I know we can't expect much of a coupon since it's only $29.99, but can't hurt to ask.
Thanks for answering!
