Edit: Nevermind. I thought you meant you were going to play the demos on your PS3..I'm guessing (hoping) you have an Xbox though.
It sure would be nice to be able to try some of the stuff though like Outland and the Lego Pirates demo.

Haha...yes, I have a 360. Really wishing I would have purchased Mortal Kombat for it instead of on PS3. Kratos was not worth 2 weeks of no online play. :(

From the preview videos I've seen of it I doubt I would like the new Red Faction game very much. It seems like more of a straight up third person shooter and less of a sandbox-y type game like the last one was.

I couldn't even tell you how many hours I spent just going back across Mars in that game with a big dump truck just demolishing leftover EDF bases by running through them full throttle.;)

Of course it was just as much fun to take the sticky charges and place them in just the right spots to cause buildings to implode in on themselves too.:D

Yeah, the new one is linear. Not sure if I will get it right away after the demo. It was decent but really didn't make me want to get the full game day one especially with no competitive multiplayer.
 
If the multiplayer is as finnicky as RFG was with not liking my slow speed DSL(768kbps), then I don't really care that there's no competitive mp for it. Every time I tried to join a game for RFG I was kicked out via disconnects before the game would start.:roll:

When you did the goldeneye Wii collectors edition with free classic controller I was denied gaming coupons on the purchase at one store (a store that looks for any reason to deny coupons/deals to be honest) and at another store it worked without issue.

Just give us a heads up either way before L.A. Noire releases. I personally think of the buy one get one requirement applying more to sales where an entire range of merchandise is available buy x get x, not where there is a bonus for buying a specific item.

No, there was more product that shipped in yesterday...and judging by yesterday's sales it looks like the people that commented on going in the stores to get it were the only ones.
 
FYI: The stores in the suburbs of chicago (around Hinsdale, RT 83 and the one on Rooselvelt) where I was last night getting my car fixed (long story) claimed they were "supposed" to get Motorstorm but the boxes were "empty". Again, the people were great. Spent alot of time looking (or maybe just torruring me on hold). I can give you the names of the people via PM or email if you want. Also where I got mine on the way home (1630 Ashland) they ALSO stated they got in 2 copies and 4 people called for them. I guess I "beat" someone wthere at 8pm :) sjc
 
i was lucky to get my copy, i was only one that had asked about it and they onlyhad 1 instock. no portal 2. i guess this is one game that does not want me to buy it
 
Josh, I know a lot of places have clearanced out laSt holiday seasons collectors editions.
My local kmart has a halo reach legendary, fable 3 collectors, and ass creed brotherhood collectors.
Any chance these guys get clearanced soon? I wanna give em a home.

Btw, is it confirmed that LA Noire will come with a free game that's 19.99 or less? I know the 20 dollar gaming coupon is confirmed but not the free game one.

So many retailers have viewed the information age as a threat, to see one embrace it is really a forward thinking plan. I would be happy to get "trapped" with buy game "x" and get a coupon for game "y" to be used in the future, if the deal is good I like the idea of being obligated to stay in the same system.

I could only assume a minor threat must be perceived by Josh as he continues to make deals that appeal to us; but Amazon continues stalking him and they keep on matching almost everything he does. So rather than way back when we used to get all promo information weeks in advance, now we have to wait around a week or less to hear about it. I don't mind, though. Pre-orders are easy to cancel or return.

The only problem I see with these deals is I now buy so many new games by backlog seems endless.

As with most games that are a 3rd in a series, if you played any of the others, you know if you like it. If you haven't, go play one of the older ones for cheaper.

If you like this series, I think it's safe to say you'll like MS:A. I played it for 2 hours last night, and thought it was great, but I like driving games. Personally, I think the critcis have been rather harsh on this title, It's a 78 on Metacritic, but I'm not sure how many of these reviewers took the time learning the game's nuances. There are a few subtle control improvements I really like, and the transforming graphics are top-notch on an HD set. The critics complain about the constant crashing, but like any MS game, once you memorize the driving line (even if it transforms over time) the courses are definitely manageable and more importantly, fun. Plus, I actually liked the motion cartoons between each race in a so-bad it's-good kind of way. If you can't laugh at how intentionally stupid they are, you're missing the point.

This game is a solid 9 (assuming you like arcade racers). If you don't like driving games, I'm sure it's much easier to hate.

Look into your crystal ball, do you see a sweet deal for Socom 4 in the near future? I'd imagine Sony would want to do whatever they can to get sales up after this PSN fiasco.

It is only on sale for 360 since the map pack is time-exclusive for 360. When the PS3 version comes out (if PSN ever gets back online) it will be on sale for only PS3.

Motorstorm Apolocypse: Playing on 3D, 73" 7.1 surround. Ok - freakin stunning. I LOVED the first 2 games. This game make 3D worth it. The sense of "depth" of seeing things falling is great. Again, if you are a fan of the series then get it. If not, pick up the SECOND one used for $15 and it will be the best 50 hours of driving you have done :)
 
Josh, any news on a 3DS Zelda Ocarina of Time promo? I know that is a bit in the future (though only about a month and a half away) so I wouldn't expect details but maybe you could let us know if something is in the works at least? A $15 coupon would be acceptable ;).

My friend has been eyeing Socom but told him it's a total failure and to wait for it to drop. Hopefully he listen to me.
 
Picked up Portal 2 without any issues. I used my $15 coupon I got from purchasing two point cards and was surprised to see that the store for the first time actually had signs advertising the deal.
 
How much is the GoW PSP bundle at kmart. I waited 10 minutes for help today and no one came and I had to get back to work and yes I asked for help and they were paged...
