Hmmm. Why would I spend my bonus points to get more bonus points? If you can time the things that you need from KMart to the bonus weekends or simply buy in bulk things that you will need eventually, (toilet paper, soap, etc.) it would be crazy to use your bonus points then.

I'd rather use them during another buy $120 to $60 in gaming coupons and not "spend" $120 out of pocket, than on a weekend that is giving out bonus points for simply spending a minimum of $50 to get more.

... wtf? u realize using a coupon on a "buy 120 worth of x and get a y coupon" is basically the same thing? either way ur saving money while gettin bonus stuff...
and anyone know if psn/xlba cards work for the mothers day thing? from anyone who knows for sure or has done it themselves?
 
so if I go in mylocal kmart on 5/18 and purchase LA NOIR and receive the 20 dollar credit, can I use it on LA Noire the day of purchase?

It has been confirmed I was in fact incorrect and Confoocious's early hunch was correct. Using coupons does bring down the total which affects the tiers for the SYWR promotion.

Okay, I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this as I doubt we'll get on the same page and it's not what the thread is about.

During a bonus weekend, you only get points on what you've paid out of pocket. I received 5,000 bonus points today because I paid $57.10. If this wasn't a bonus day, I would've received 829 points instead of 5,829. Why would I use SYWR dollars during a bonus weekend, when I still have to pay at least $50.00 to get the points for the new promotion?

During a spend $120 to get $60 in gaming coupons promotion, I only need to have a transaction that totals $120 in games BEFORE I then apply previous coupons and/or my SYWR dollars. So, the pay out of my pocket amount is less than $120 because I have a coupon and/or dollars in my account.

When I should've only had 829 points as a customer, I have 5,829. KMart gave me $5 to shop there and it's their $5 that would be used on the $120, not mine.

That's why it would be wasteful and counter-productive to use SYWR dollars during their bonus promotions, not during a buy X amount and receive Y in coupons.

well i understand that but we were talkin within the circumstances of it actual workin towards the total, which would be the same, just sayin
 
There is only one question I have in regard to the LA Noire deal which I don't think has been answered and brought up once. If the deal is a $20 coupon and a free $20 game, are we allowed to use the coupons obtained through the spend $120, get $60 free special. The reason I ask is because on those coupons in the fine print it says it is not good for Buy 1, Get 1 Free promotions. That is kind of a big thing to know because if we are holding our coupons for that long, and we find out it doesn't work on release day, then people are going to be scrambling to find something to spend their gaming coupons on in a couple days. Thanks to anyone that will know the definitive answer on this.
 
could I return the unopened game after 7 days when the coupon activates and then a few days later go back in and re-purchase the game but this time using the 20 dollar credit.

Well, not to be a jerk, but you were talking under those circumstances, not me. I had already explained how the SYWR dollars worked, so I already knew that they wouldn't work towards the total.

Oh, and it still wouldn't be the same thing. You'd just be handing them $50 in SYWR dollars for them to give back $5 in bonus points. Wasteful and counter-productive.

But, hopefully someone else reading this will finally see how it works and how they can use it to their best advantage.

I'm just gonna say... u didn't explain it, because u said "in my expierence" not the same thing as actually knowing, and i thought we were speakin in context as normal people do... and it is if ur buying things that u actually want... otherwise... it would be wasteful but w/e, if u cant see where we were both at fault, fine

btw, i already know kmart's price adjustment policy but do i just go to the customer service desk and tell them about the price drops? because i dont know where i'd be able to find a physical kmart ad, magazine, paper, anything, that would talk about the price drops
 
I said "in my experience," because I had previously posted how it worked, as I explained in my first post. I told the person then that was asking how it worked and told him why I gave the answer/assumption that I did: because I was holding the receipts in my hand.

I allowed the possibility to be questioned by saying "in my experience" and "answer/assumption" because for some reason, there is always someone on the internet that doesn't know what they are talking about that will insist that they do and argue how what you just did and have the reasonable explanation for the action, didn't actually happen.

So, if someone still can't understand SYWR dollars, how they work and how to best utilize them after reading the previous discussion and this one, then that is what Sears/KMart is banking on because they aren't maximizing the deals that are being provided.
 
And with good reason. Too many people deny themselves rewards and come back here complaining about it. Knowledge is, well, cash, in this case.

Josh, people have been pondering and it would be reassuring to get your input. Is there anything stopping a price adjustment if we buy one of the discounted games today or Saturday and go back Sunday or later (within the 7 days, of course) to change it to the reduced price?

Not that I am aware of. I do not recommend it as a normal way to buy as that is not the reason the price protection guarantee was made. I could see stores getting defensive if it happened consistently.
 
Josh, since with buy 1 get 1 free the coupons don't print, will this also happen with LA Noire? Because essentially it's a buy 1 get 1 free deal also. Just pointing this out so you can make sure it works and whatnot. Amazing deal my man. Yakuza 3, Enslaved or MGS4.. so hard to choose.

We are setting the deal up as an instant conditional offer which will not prohibit coupon usage. We are still working on the system to pull this off.

Any idea what would be the best filler to get LA Noire with the 60 dollar gaming coupon back from portal 2/mk beside point card? I am actually torn on either getting la noire or witcher 2 on launch day with coupon. I think I can get the la noire from goozex relatively quickly after launch but the deal seems almost too good to pass up lol.

Since you only need a penny, you could also just browse the gaming section for something dirt cheap. Remember that everything in your purchase has to be gaming-related for the coupon to work.
 
Alright, its going to be LA Noire and Witcher for $110 - $60 with coupons = $50 and then get $35 in coupons to get Dirt 3 for $25 + another $15 coupon! Dont forget the free $20 game! I love Kmart

The coupon will not activate until the following Sunday. Refer to the posts on the first page for specifics regarding the gaming coupons.
 
can someone detail the mother's day SYWR bonus? i just logged into their site as well as reread the first few posts in this thread and couldn't find specifics.
