Question does kmart email you the gaming coupon? Ive never bought from kmart online and just bought brotherhood on monday for the $20 gift cert. I typically buy from amazon and im used to their system. Thanks guys
No sign of Apache yet; really hoping it comes in before end of promotion. Demo was fun but not MSRP fun.
I know, no Apache today at 34th street and 7th. Going back Friday hope they have Apache and NBA Jams.
UGH. This is the most frustrating thing ever. After spending about 2 and ½ total hours on the phone with SYWR customer service and with employees at Kmart, they’re gonna send me yet another replacement card that completely resets my account number and PIN. I have to wait another 4 weeks (!) before this card arrives before I can redeem my points, because I won’t know my PIN until I get it and I can’t change the PIN until I know.

SYWR is the worst system I’ve had to deal with in a long time. Gaming coupons were soooo much better to work with.
I was finally able to fix my issue with the SYWR site. I ended up having to "re-join" and clicking No when asked if I had an account. I put in my questionable member number and found out that I had two #'s associated with my account. I was able to pick the correct one and it now shows my $85 in rewards.

I do agree that the SYWR is the worst rewards system I have had to deal with. The customer service reps I have spoken to have blamed it on the switchover.

just so you know its there i had them check upc code but for whatever reason the boxes are no where to be found by anyone supposedly :bomb::bomb:

Coupons are in-store only and not issued on online purchases.

My store supposedly has them in inventory also based on UPC, but I was told "I havent seen it come in yet, check back Tuesday" Yeah, no thanks haha.

I asked this earlier but no one answered--has anyone successfully redeemed a PRINTED coupon from a purchase that you got in your e-mail? My receipt was emailed to me along with the coupons, so I'm wondering if anyone has printed them before and successfully used them in store.

I tried re-joining with whatever account numbers that CS gave me, but in both instances, it says the member ID is invalid. Looks like I'll just have to keep waiting. But thanks for the tip.

Mine actually did that for a while, but after speaking with Customer Service yesterday and after the downtime of the SYWR today it amazingly worked for me. If you haven't tried it in the past hour or so, it might be worth a try. She had told me that the site was down last night (which it did not appear to be), and I was getting member ID invalid. After today's definite outage, it just worked.
The game deals don't seem to be a certain time of day (i.e. 5-11 am) so it might work. I really have no idea, so hopefully someone else will answer your question.
Well I have a week until then, I'll bump in the meantime to hear it from Josh. The employees at my Kmart aren't bad but it seems only 1 person there actually knows about the video games deals & his shifts are all over the place.
sweet, thanks for that reply. any idea on how to get ahold of his email? I would like that 5 bucks back if possible. I can give him my receipt and all that, but I can't pm him on here I guess.. haha. maybe im just too new at this whole thing? hahaha.

Just got mine at Kmart, and had the limited edition. :D
Josh himself recommends not using printed coupons as much as possible. I'm sure there are SOME employees out there who would take them but for a pretty obvious reason I can see most stores not taking them. When I worked at Kroger, we would not take printed off internet coupons, period. Too many people making copies of coupons and trying to use them.

I have a question though that I asked before and was never directly answered but has since been answered in the past couple days. I was told by an employee (a very nice and knowledged in the area of electronics but perhaps not on the protocol and details of a cashier) that they couldn't look up stock of items even if I gave them a UPC number. Where does an employee look up to see how much stock they have of an item? At a register? Do they need a pricing gun? I just want to be able to help direct an employee in the event they don't know how to do this. I've never really had a problem but with some of the recent stories about stores not having out some stock I just worry...especially cause I want in on some of these deals like Sly Cooper. Thanks.

Does anyone know how to get the kmart upc/sku number for Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition

In the OP, the mickey number was listed as:
UPC/KSN: 712725020392/2896603
but this is different than the sku on the kmart.com website.

So if I rely on the kmart.com upc for GT5 CE that would probably be wrong as well.

update: nevermind. think i got it. hopefully this is correct (taken from bestbuy.com):
collector's ed. UPC: 711719827221

standard: UPC: 711719811428

I've used a printed coupon before. I entered thinking there was no possible way the employee would take it, even though it definitely looks to be from Kmart. Regardless, I don't think he cared. It scanned in correctly, then he shoved it into his register without a second glance.

To check inventory, an employee needs either the UPC, or the KSN and Department #. Tell them to use the register by pressing the small button near the bottom of the screen (I forget the name of the icon, it has been two months since I worked at a Kmart), then type in the required information. It's painless, and every employee "should" know how to use it...Whether it's accurate, or will lend a hand to your item searching...Aha! Good luck.

If they decline to do so, ask for a manager. As a former employee, I'm sick of lazy store employees (they're at most stores). It's really not much to ask for an employee to check inventory.

Hey Josh, I saw someone else brought to your attention how their kmart does not put the games out on the street date, for the past 3 months the Kmart in Muncie IN has not had the game out on the tuesday advertised more than maybe twice. It really sucks because I have noticed that there is only one worker who will actually go look in the back only to find that they are there. there are so many other workers who just say "if its not in the case we dont have it." it is possible they did not get the shipment in but i truely believe that it is just in a box somewhere because everytime someone goes back there they find it. I called about Goldeneye every day since its release and everyone just said they didnt have it, I had to drive 40 min out of my way to go to the Kmart in Anderson because they had it. and today they had about 10 goldeneyes in the case, im guessing someone found the box. if there is anything you can do i would really appreciate it, i have only bought games from kmart for the past 4 months and truely appreciate all the work you put in, I just wish the workers would just do their job so it would be an easier experience for me

I just gave the nice lady at customer service the UPC for the TV I wanted and she checked the local stores until we found one with it in stock.

She checked it through the register.
I'm just going to create a separate deal for next week on NBA Jam PS3 and Xbox 360.
hi SHC~
are you still planning on doing a separate deal or is it just the coupon offer date being extended? thanks!!

ps... looked thru the thread and didnt see a definite answer.

Atfer no success yesterday with Assassins Creed Brotherhood and the sly collection I was finally able to get both. While AC: B was on the shelf there still was no sly so i asked the employee if he could look up the UPC on his computer, they can, he said they had 7 in store and he callled the stock person to find it. While waiting i found out that, i'm not sure if its for only this kmart or nationwide but there was a notice that the electronics dept. always had to have an employee in the dept at all times. I think bringing the UPCs to the store is the way to go, either from a website or from josh if he chooses espcially if you can have them search for it right in electronics.

Josh,

Love what you are trying to do, but the lack of support of the stores in Omaha has probably stopped me from purchasing much more from Kmart. Every time I go into the store on 135th & Maple, I have to hunt down a person to come to electronics....and they always have to call someone to come over...whomever I find cannot help. So, one lost NFS:HP sale today....I'll probably get GT5 with my $20 reward then try to get HP on BF...but that's it.

Sorry to say it, but when I have made 7-8 video game purchases in the last 2-3 months and have to hunt for people every time (and neither time of day nor day itself seem to matter) then it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. How the heck is there not someone in electronics at all times? Literally today there were 6 people in electronics and zero Kmart employees in the area...yet there were 6 of them stocking toys.

Thanks for your work, but I'm wondering how many others feel the same lack of support when they venture into the electronics section of their local KMart. Not upset with you the least.....just disappointed in the stores.....thank again.

josh,

Does a kmart manager have access to data regarding whether or not they'll have a product in the following week?

I asked the electronics/video games manager at one kmart about GT5 CE and even gave her the UPC 711719827221. However, she said she couldn't tell whether they're getting it in.

Please let me know so I know whether to try at another kmart.

update: ok, i just called another kmart (kapolei, on oahu, hawaii) and the lady said she didn't know until whether or not it shows up next week. i tried giving her the upc code but she cut me off and said goodbye. does this make sense to anyone? how do these stores not even know what will be arriving a few days from now? all i had to do at best buy was ask them, they check the upc and tell me whether or not they're getting the product in.

Well I got the games I was after today, they weren't put out yet so I had to ask for them. It always baffles me though why they only bring out the one copy of a game I ask for and then leave the rest in the back. Oh well at least they found them today, thats better than the average day.

SHC-Gamer I was wondering if the Collectors Editions of any games will be going on sale anytime soon? I only ask because at my store I requested a CE of Fallout and Star Wars. The store decided to not put them out until a week later so I never bought them. I feel bad because the reason they are there is because I asked for them. Now there is 3 copies I think of each CE that I am sure will sit there forever. At the same time I don't have any plans to buy them without a coupon coming with them or better yet a discount on them.

Oooh looking forward to 11/28 week ... FINALLY will get DQ V for DS now that a gaming coupon will come with it :bouncy:

Quick question... If this has been asked before, I apologize... I notice when you get your K-Mart rewards scanned, they email you the receipts and any offers that go along with it.... This includes the gaming coupon.

So if you lose your gaming coupon (just hypothetically asking) or the register blipped and you didn't receive one... Couldn't you just print out that one and use it since it has the unique code and barcode on it... Seems like that would save people a lot of trouble even if one doesn't print or something happens to the one they got. Gotta give kudos to K-Mart for emailing digital receipts on each purchase... MUCH easier to keep up with them then :D

Just got off the phone with SYWR. I can't login to the site since the upgrade either. I'm not that worried about it though. I have a temporary card I printed out (actual card could still be 3 weeks or so, I'm told, and I signed up at the end of October). I was told this temporary, which includes my membership id, a pin number, and an account number, will be valid for spending my points with next week. Apparently a pin number was auto generated when my account was created, because I certainly didn't pick this number.

In any case, just thought I'd let everyone know that they are still "working the kinks out" on the site. As long as your card (actual or a printed temporary) works and you have a phone (to check your balance, if you want to), you should be able to use your card without a site login.

I had the same issue with the Fallout:nv CE but I didn't ask for it. I still would have bought it a week later but I had already used my coupons.

And now that I have extra coupons to use the CE is nowhere to be found.

I did end up with the AC:B CE, so that's cool.

Side note: My SYWR experience has been excellent.

Well, in the tradition of posting how each experience with Kmart went here is how it went down tonight. Got there with the anticipation of buying AC:B and Sly Collection and possibly NFS and EA Sports Active. There are 5 people working in electronics including a manager...none of these people have ever been working in electronics before that I've seen. So I see AC:B and NFS on the shelf and a single lonely pack of EA Sports Active in the stacks at the bottom. Guy walks over and asks if I need any help and I tell him yea, I'd like two of the games and another that I am fairly certain you all have in stock somewhere but I can't find it here. I ask if he could look it up on the register if I gave up the UPC and he said no, but they could look it up on something (I don't know what he called it but he grabbed a pricing gun...I don't care how he looked it up but I thought it was worth noting that he said they couldn't look on the register despite what others here have said) and it said they had 3 in stock. So he goes to the manager that's working and him and another guy both go in the back and look for it after I show them a picture of the game's case on my phone. They're back there for about 5 minutes and the guy that started helping me got the other games I wanted (NFS and AC:B) and took them to the register then went back to find his coworkers. The manager comes out and tells me he knows they have it in stock cause it's listed that they do but that they can't find it. He apologizes and says that he'd have somebody continue looking for it tonight and ask again tomorrow about it and that I could check back then. I mention it's not a problem cause I had to come back Friday or Saturday to grab NBA Jam anyway. I grab AC:B and NFS and purchase those using my 25k SYWR points. The guy working the register didn't know how to use them but another employee came over and showed the gentleman so now he should know as well and they were all incredibly friendly. Both my coupons printed off just fine for the correct amount and the guy handed them to me separately so I could keep them safe.

All in all, really good experience except for Sly Collection which apparently has been a nuisance to everybody. This store has continued to impress me and I've yet to experience a single bad employee. I've interacted with people from a bunch of different departments and managers here for various reasons and all have went above and beyond in their friendliness and helpfulness.

The Bowling Green, KY Kmart is one of the best stores I've ever shopped at and I happily go there instead of Gamestop, Walmart, (and Best Buy at least when it comes to games).

It's like that for a lot of games. It's not native 1080p--it's just upscaled.

ssr,

When i asked about looking up the UPC at first he said that he needed a gun but he would try it on the computer screen. After i read him the UPC he found the on hand quantity and even moved the monitor so i could see the screen which without the gun showed that they had 7 on hand.

Thought I would share that I have been having better and better experiences at two seperate Kmart locations: White Bear Lake and Oakdale, MN. Both locations have been really helpfull and even if they do not know about the promotions they are willing to scan my purchases through without any hassle or making me feel like a criminal. Any CAGs in the area should hit those stores up for any of these deals.

I will say though that I sometimes have difficulty finding an associate in the electronics area, but when I am able to get one over they always have a good attitude.
just so you know its there i had them check upc code but for whatever reason the boxes are no where to be found by anyone supposedly :bomb::bomb:
thanks, I will look on Friday.

Hey SHC GAMER,

I asked this question before in the thread but I didn't get a response. Is there going to be an upcoming deal on DJ Hero 2 standalone or turntable bundle for the Xbox 360?? Thanks.
Hmm cool, thanks for posting that. There's a few people in my store who's names need to be passed on. Had wondered the best way to go about that. Now I just am curious if they actually do anything with the names that are submitted.
It gets forwarded to the store and then to the employee from there.

I posted the link but it went unnoticed before, or it died in the Ver. 2 thread so thanks for posting it again Glasscocked.
I love Kmart right now more than I love just about any store, but $14.99 for Resident Evil 4 Wii is bad.

I realize I'm a little late, but it's been $14.99 at Kmart for at least a month. (Part of the red tag, UPC sticker bargain bin assortment). Not sure why it's singled out in the BF ad. So yes, you can find it cheaper at Amazon, but I don't think it's worth getting bothered about.
Well good news is went back in for Brotherhood and got a good sales associate. He did some initial looking and came back empty handed. I told him a little about what might have happened and he called the manager. Shortly after I gave him the bar code UPC and he said yep it shows we have it. Went back and looked some more and came out with a copy. So I guess like last time it just got buried back in the stockroom.

I think we need to have a good way to generate the UPC Codes for games, that way in stores anyone can look up if they have the title in stock. I don't know if there's a website that tells you this but I will be looking for one. UPC Code helped me last time they misplaced a game as well.

Needless to I want to run this by Josh and see if he knows anything that could be done because at the least if they scan the games in, it will show up that they have the game and they really can't tell you no as easily after that.
What they need, and its one of my biggest pet peeves, is a system that allows me to look up movies, games and cd's by title instead of everything being controlled by a UPC that I dont have access to since I dont have the product in hand. I worked for Game Crazy for 3 years and it amazes me that we had this simple system in place and yet Kmart does everything bya UPC and nothing by title. I mean really, if I had the UPC then I wouldnt need to look the game up because Ive got it in hand.
