This is so freaking depressing. I mean I love the Knicks but there's only so much of this I can take... bring back Ewing, Starks and Oakley and I guarantee they would win more than 20 games. The forecast is bleak too as we will be in salary cap hell for the next few years at least... any other depressed Knicks fans out there?

No but do you read Bill Simmons on Espn.com he has a great feud going with the GM Thomas threating to kick his ass if he ever sees him in the street.

yeah that's awesome. I love his articles over on Page 2. Him and Tony Kornheiser are my favorite sports journalists... Here's his recent take on the Knicks (ranking them 30th in the league).
Well, it's official: The escalating Marbury-Brown feud has Sprewell/Carlesimo potential. I'm giddy. And didn't you love it when Marbury pulled the "I've gotta go back to being Starbury" routine? It's one thing to refer to yourself in the third person, it's another thing to refer to yourself in the fourth person (as your nickname). Just a tour de force all the way around.

yea i love his mailbags and his stuff about his fantasy leagues and stuff though. And look forward to Kornheiser on monday night football could be great or an utter failure.

at least you knicks fans have something to cherish the last few years. being a warrior fan, i had nothing for the last 12 years and counting. we are in salary cap hell as well because isiah thomas of the west, chris mullin, gave out huge contracts to lazy and selfish players who don't defend. i dont think the warriors will have another chance of making the playoffs in another 5 years.

Yea I hope the Knicks do even worse next year. Since Isiah is stupid enough to trade Eddy Curry for 2 first rounders.
With Bulls next years grand pick...Greg Oden.

The NBA was so much cooler back when I was young (Jordan, Ewing, D. Robinson, Olijuwan (cant spell it). This was in the mid 90's. I don't even watch it anymore, it seems like the players get traded around way to much anymore.
It's mind boggling that the knicks suck. They have tremendous talent, but no team chemistry whatsoever.
I disagree. Most of their players suck and have already seen their best days. Now they are just collecting paychecks.

I can't stand watching the Knicks. There horrible. The only reason to watch the Knicks is watch the opposition team.I don't understand why you need 3 point guard for?Isiah is a dumb ass trading their shortier contract players for much old longer contract player doesn't make sense.I think he worst then Scott Laden.

Meh. My Sixers arent doing too much better. We have decent talent (Korver, AI9, W.Green), But we need more proven players along with AI3 and CWebb.

The first thing the Knicks need to do is trade all those 2 guards. No way in hell the need Jamal Crawford, Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis and Quentin Richardson, Nate Robinson, and Qyntel Woods. You can't win when the little guys on you team take all your shots. The closest thing they have to a point guard is Jalen Rose. This team proves that regardless of how good the coach is, you have to have a solid PG to win. Look at Larry Brown's last two teams. The Pistons had Billups and the 76ers had Eric Snow. Both guys get the team involved first. Stephon Marbury really needs to stop calling himself Starbury. He isn't one. He destroys each franchise he is on.

Being from Indy and therefore a Pacers fan I cant help but think we were very lucky to unload Isiah when Bird did. Shame they didnt bounce Artest sooner.

Larry Bird did the franchise a huge favor by bouncing Isiah. Isiah has no idea what he is doing as a coach or as an executive.

God I hate the Pacers and Heat. If either franchise never won another game ever including the games they played against each other I'd be thrilled.

but he is the self appointed best guard in the nba !!!! hahaha...

lol, my bobcats > knicks...sad, aint it? i actually think the bobcats could get to the playoffs in a few years...they have so many losses, but most of them were pretty close games

most losses in the association are pretty close games.

I know how you feel. The Lakers haven't won a championship since 2002. ;)

The warriors need to go to a 6th grade basketball camp so thay can atleast learn the basics of playing defense.

and to learn to shoot free throws. i would say the lost at least 10 games this season because they missed 10+ free throws per game. at least 3 games were lost because they can't make free throws and the other team made a 3 pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime where they lost.
What is it about them that you don't like?
The 90s. Especially that effing Ferengi and his 8 points in 30 seconds and that effing pansy PJ Brown who starts fights because he sucks and things aren't going his way.

Yeah it's really messed up. We need to trade Marbury, he's not a team player.

If Larry Brown can't make it happen in a couple more seasons, he should go too. Basically we need to drop lots of players like they're hot, even though they suck. Apparently we're still paying Allan Houston & Spree from contracts' past.

I think the rebuilding focus should be on hardcore east coast defense like the early to mid 90s Knicks. Build around a couple team players, and good things should happen. Cut the BS and play some defense.

I guess you can drop Brown, but no coach could put your walking disaster of a roster in the playoffs.

Being a die hard Nets fan, I'm loving every minute of this. When is Mar...sorry Starbury going to realize that there is a reason why teams get BETTER once they trade him?

"I'm the best point guard in the NBA"

HA!

What I don't understand is why teams continue to give huge contracts to lazy selfish player. It seems like every GM thinks he can change a player around. Isaiah is the worst at this. It seems like he gets off on picking up people's shit and trying to turn it into diamonds. I have to admit, this season has been entertaining though. Only thing that would make it better is if someone on the team got arrested.
What I don't understand is why teams continue to give huge contracts to lazy selfish player.
unfortunately, some of these selfish players are pretty popular...so they might draw more fans into the arena for more $$$

I wouldn't say Mullin is the Isaiah Thomas of the West. He gave a contract to Richardson who is probably the most underrated player in the league, he traded for Baron Davis (which is a great trade any way you look at it, tired of GSW Bandwagoners who hate on him and say we're worse with him), signed Troy Murphy who is a solid 20/8 guy a night.

Downside's is he has given a big deal to Mike Dunleavy who some nights shows why he's worth it, and other's night doesn't. Gave a deal to "Stone Hands" Foyle, and has Mike Montgomerey as coach who will be there next year.

He has also drafted Biedrins, Ellis, and Taft who all look to be future studs.

So you dont like Reggie because he was a good player? The man was and is a model citizen.
So you dont like Reggie because he was a good player? The man was and is a model citizen.
He only doesn't like him because Miller and only Miller kicked the Knicks out of the playoffs that year. Jav should hate ( but respect) Jordan too.

Yeah, the Knicks do suck, and even though they have the worst record they're still not going to get a lottery pick (potentially 1st overall) this year since Chicago has it. Their 3 picks from the previous draft gotta step up, at least Channing Frye looks like he has a future with them.

but yet those players cant play D to save their life especially murphy. he doesnt avg 20/8. he avg 14/10. his defense is god awful. definately not worth 10 mil/year.

J-Rich if you have watched has vastly improved his D this year, the only reason people knock on him is because when he goes through a backdoor screen, they switch, and Dunleavy takes J-Rich's man and cannot cover him.

Troy Murphy doesn't play 'god awful' but he's definitely not a post-player, he's a perimeter player and does have a nice 3 shot.
Quit bragging about your crappy Knicks. Our Blazers are right on your tail, just one game behind last i checked.
Big difference is that the Blazers are a very young team and will be good in years to come, but the Knicks, not a young team, a very talented team and they still can't win a dam game.

Man are they pathetic, and I am loving every second since my BULLs will get the Knicks hopefully 1st pick in the lottery! :)

the knicks sound like the new york rangers of years past. maybe they'll be good in about 10 years.

They may be decent years down the road, but they wont be the Portland Trail Blazers anymore...

Right. I respect Reggie because he was a great player but damn I hate him. Same thing with Jordan - freaking guy knocked the Knicks out of the playoffs EVERY single year (it seemed). They were even up 2-0 and coming home to play 3 at the Garden and still lost. Damn Jordan. The Knicks are the only team I root for that haven't won a championship in my lifetime...

Saddest thing about the Knicks, I think is that not only are they terrible now but they are doomed to years of crappiness (a la my Warriors). Isaiah traded your draft pick this year, and the Bulls can swap picks next year, not to mention that he continues to trade gigantic expiring contracts for large contracts of players who just suck.

Neither have the Pacers, so suck it up and welcome to unusually large group of basketball teams vying for the Cubs label.

At least Jordan didn't throw his leg out everytime he shot a 3 so he got "fouled." Thank God the refs started to ignore that shit in the Pistons-Pacers series two years ago.

Um, hello? I'm in NY, not podunk Indiana... we expect to win every title in every sport for every year and it's total bullshit that we don't. No one in Indiana is going on a shooting spree when the Pacers lose but around here you never know...
