KZ3 or Homefront?

So, I get paid this week and I am trying to decide what to get; Homefront or Killzone 3. I love the Killzone series (I still play KZ2 all the time), but I'm a huge fan of the guy who wrote Homefront's story (I loved Red Dawn and Apocalypse Now). Any help?

playstation magazine gave homefront a 9/10. they complained about the short campaign (5 hours), which seems pretty standard to me anymore. killzone campaign felt like right when you started getting going they stop for a cutscene. i would say if you like multiplayer with vehicles get homefront, otherwise kz3.

Wanting homefront, but not a lot of positive vibes being posted right now. SP Campaign is way too short which is what I am concerned with most. Really cant justify $65 for a 4 maybe 5 hour campaign. MP doesn't seem all that great either.

On the other hand, KZ3 is great!

Other concern I have with Homefront is they are supporting the xbox 100%. ps3 owners like myself will be getting the shaft. More the reason whey I might just wait and get Crysis 2

How is the PS3 version getting shafted? That's the version I got on order.

Killzone 3 is a lot of fun, and if you love the Killzone series I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Homefront looks ineteresting but I need to see more personally before I buy it.

Killzone 3 hands down. Homefront has a great story but everything else is meh. I wasnt impressed from what I played of it.
Are you aiming at story or multiplayer?

I've heard Killzone 3's isn't that good.
Wha? Killzone 3 is pretty good

360 has exclusive maps. It will probably have pretty performance too

360 gets exclusive multiplayer map on the disc and DLC will come out first on 360.

Killzone 3 is fine, but be ready for it to freeze nightly on you at random times in multiplayer and have major sound glitches in the story mode.

From what I have read, THQ is supporting the 360 100%. My guess is because MS gives good BJ's. If Sony charged every month for on-line instead of making it an option, us ps3 users wouldnt have to wait 3 months or whatever to get DLC like they did with Black Ops.

Pretty much why I am only into the Campaign mode of games now and why I switched to the ps3. I dont do much MP anymore and it was silly paying $50 a year or whatever to do what I do now for free.

Ps3 has to wait for DLC and dont get 1 multiplayer map.

This game was designed on the PS3 and is ported to the 360 for those that care.

There's actually a pretty good reason why Xbox 360 is getting more support. They felt like they needed a strong corporate partner for advertising to make the game a success, and Microsoft stepped up to the plate ready and willing to give them the dashboard space and attention that they need to sell copies. So they made a timed exclusive map and have plans for timed exclusive DLCs in exchange for much greater chances at success for their game; I can't fault them for that personally even though I bought the PC version.

As far as Killzone 3 versus Homefront goes, it depends on what you're looking for. KZ3 has a nice singleplayer experience with lots of variety, great graphics, and a really unique feel. The storyline is interesting but not amazing, but there are great auxiliary parts: I loved watching the head of the Hellghast and the CEO of the Stahl Corporation vie for power. KZ3's singlerplayer is basically driven by game mechanics. Homefront's singleplayer is very different. It's all about atmosphere and the emotional resonance of the storyline.

As far as multiplayer goes, KZ3 uses an unlock system but there's not a wide variety of weaponry. There are fewer than 20 weapons total at your fingertips, so that's kind of disappointing. I don't know much about homefront's multiplayer at this point however.

People knew about this game long before it hit the dash board so that did not lead to them selling copies initially. Why didnt THQ make a demo for people to play? Because they want people to buy this game and HOPE that they like it. Nearly every other developers will throw a demo out there for people to get a feel for the game.

The MP in HomeFront is no different than any other war based game we have right now. The weapons are kinda lame such as the sniper rifle. Cant blow up buildings or anything like that. I just dont think the game is going to be worth $60. Especially with a 4 hour campaign....

Far as KZ3, how is fewer than 20 weapons disappointing? How many weapons can you use at once? ONE. Wouldnt matter if there was 500 guns, you are going to set up your classes with your favorite guns anyhow. And, there are only what, 5 classes in KZ3?

See, this is another idea I had, the demo kinda stank but that doesn't mean the game will. So many choices but so little money!

I had to respect them for being upfront about the decision and explaining it unlike Bethesda was about DLC exclusivity, etc. I bought the PC-version rage-free thanks to the way that they treated their consumers like adults.
The MP in HomeFront is no different than any other war based game we have right now. I played for several hours tonight; it's pretty awesome.
Far as KZ3, how is fewer than 20 weapons disappointing? How many weapons can you use at once? ONE. Then I bought KZ3 from Amazon with Release-Date delivery, and I was super psyched to play the game. Then I got it, played for several hours, and found myself bored out of my mind with the game.

Almost all of the weapons are straight out of KZ2, there's not a lot of them, and basically you will spend about of the third of the game's unlock points unlocking the same guns over and over again between various classes. There is just not a lot of content that KZ3 has to offer. I like knowing that there's a new toy I haven't tried out waiting for me at the end of the road, that's what kept me playing to the end of a lot of MP shooters, but KZ3 has no such carrot dangling at the end of the stick. In KZ3 it's a slightly oranger stick (ability upgrade) or a carrot you've already eaten before regurgitated and offered up again.

There's a lot more stuff to play with in Homefront, and the single-player is top notch emotional storytelling.

Get Homefront -- I already sold KZ3 on Craigslist.

I took my son to the midnight release and he picked up Homefront. We took turns playing MP and I have to admit it was actually pretty good. One thing I did jump up and point my hands at the TV about was when I tried to shoot an enemy just standing there with a RPG and it did nothing. I fired 2 more and he just stood there! I was like, Oh Hell naw! LOL

Are you playing Homefront on the ps3?

Holy crap! The difference in graphics kind of makes you cringe. If I do go with Homefront, it'll definitely be the PS3 version.

I still definitely want to get Killzone 3, but the deal at Kmart was too good to pass up. I mean I was going to buy Homefront anyway but getting a free $20 PSN card was a hell of a bonus.
