People knew about this game long before it hit the dash board so that did not lead to them selling copies initially. Why didnt THQ make a demo for people to play? Because they want people to buy this game and HOPE that they like it. Nearly every other developers will throw a demo out there for people to get a feel for the game.
I'm just going off of what they said in an interview. I had to respect them for being upfront about the decision and explaining it unlike Bethesda was about DLC exclusivity, etc. I bought the PC-version rage-free thanks to the way that they treated their consumers like adults.
The MP in HomeFront is no different than any other war based game we have right now. The weapons are kinda lame such as the sniper rifle. Cant blow up buildings or anything like that. I just dont think the game is going to be worth $60. Especially with a 4 hour campaign....
Battle points make Homefront's multiplayer quite different. I played for several hours tonight; it's pretty awesome.
Far as KZ3, how is fewer than 20 weapons disappointing? How many weapons can you use at once? ONE. Wouldnt matter if there was 500 guns, you are going to set up your classes with your favorite guns anyhow. And, there are only what, 5 classes in KZ3?
All I know is, I played the beta for a good 3 hours when it came out. Then I bought KZ3 from Amazon with Release-Date delivery, and I was super psyched to play the game. Then I got it, played for several hours, and found myself bored out of my mind with the game.
Almost all of the weapons are straight out of KZ2, there's not a lot of them, and basically you will spend about of the third of the game's unlock points unlocking the same guns over and over again between various classes. There is just not a lot of content that KZ3 has to offer. I like knowing that there's a new toy I haven't tried out waiting for me at the end of the road, that's what kept me playing to the end of a lot of MP shooters, but KZ3 has no such carrot dangling at the end of the stick. In KZ3 it's a slightly oranger stick (ability upgrade) or a carrot you've already eaten before regurgitated and offered up again.
There's a lot more stuff to play with in Homefront, and the single-player is top notch emotional storytelling.
Get Homefront -- I already sold KZ3 on Craigslist.
