Yea, she actually didn't do too bad for someone that hadn't even attempted to play a FPS for nearly 10 years. Problem is LFD assumes you've had FPS conventions beaten into you. There's no tutorial mode or anything. So she felt completely overwhelmed even though I think I died more than she did. It ended up just stressing her out.

Thought their was an easy mode... :s Ah well...
 
Sorry I haven't been around to join you guys , but unfortunately my fluctuating schedule often makes it hard to join games. I'll be available Wednesday and Thursday this week but not the weekend (other than sunday) since I'm working late (curse holidays when you work retail :bomb:).
 
I played Expert on Swamp Fever today with competent people nearly the whole time. Played for 6 hours. We couldn't beat it. fuck. We got so close but the 2 tanks part in the finale just always overwhelmed us, and we'd always get there on times where there was no defib spawned, so we couldn't bring anyone back to life when we escaped from the tanks. It was a fun day, but shit on a brick did it make me mad that we couldn't finish.

Ideally yes... but didn't you mention you'd only be available for a few hours? If so I was thinking Versus or Scavenge would be more appropriate. You know how troublesome it is to make a run with even one bot. >_>
 
I'd rather do normal but think I can hold my own in expert if you need a 4th.

Welp, decided to throw L4D2 on my TL, even though I REALLY don't want to.

But it's gotten to the point where people who are still playing L4D2 are only interested in Expert campaigns, or Survival or VS and not going through Campaigns on a normal difficulty setting. The crew I used to play L4D 1 with all the time also all splintered off into other games. I have no real issue with going on Expert as I went through the campaigns of L4D 1 multiple times on Expert, but I'd like to just through each map a few times before I go into Expert.

Shame too. L4D was my personal GOTY in 2008 and I just put stupid amounts of time into it.

I blame MW2 for all of this.

If I see you on I'd be happy to do normal campaigns if we don't have a solid group we think has a chance at an expert run. There's still a few achievements I can go for on any level (melee achievements with tank and charger, defib).
 
I'm also in this category that if people want to play a normal campaign, I'm down. Sure, I prefer Scavenge, but I love just pissing around in normal campaigns, too. Kind of a Thyranq or NeoIyse type of thing (Youtube L4D players that make hilarious videos, if you're unfamiliar).
 
Cool. I'll add Chimpster to my FL, I know Anexanhume is on my FL already.

If it goes down tonight at around 7:30 PM PST, as previously posted, count me in. If not, there's always the Blazer game.

Thanks for babysitting my pathetic newb ass through the swamp Panda and Chimp. Last night was my first time playing LFD2 and only second time playing LFD. Hopefully I'll be more useful in the future. I was kicked from a versus match (before our campaign) for sucking too hard.

Apologies to IceBlueShoes (aka WeySamuraiX), I don't know why you couldn't join.
 
Hey, I had fun. If you guys want to go for achievements again, just let me know. I've got all but the expert ones and the team vs. team achievement, so I'll help out with the others.
 
If we can get games going on a consistent, near nightly basis, you can expect me to be on.

I'd go through the Dead Center and Swamp Fever campaigns on Expert, since I have beaten those two on normal already.

I'll be on from 6-8 PST tonight if anyone wants to play. Can't do expert tonight because of the time but I'm ok with a regular campaign, vs or scavenge.

If you guys haven't tried scavenge mode, give it a try, it's quite addictive ;)
 
I'll be playing later, need to complete some campaigns, i'll play expert if thats what everyone is playing or any difficulty, then maybe we can get some vs matches, cause i'm finished with playing with randoms, always dropping out, etc :D

my mic is kinda :/ lately but i think i can fix it, haha playing with randoms with no mics is terrible, everyone just runs away, lone wolfs lol

I couldn't get by the third chapter of Dead Center with a full team of competent people (2 friends, 1 friend of a friend) with mics. We never got farther than the alarm sequence, and we only made it there twice........and we played that third level for TWO AND A HALF fuckING HOURS. So you not getting by it with 2 people doesn't surprise me, haha.

We actually made it to the alarm probably once every....6 tries? One time we had a guy get to the 3rd floor, but ultimately die.
That chapter seems butt-rapingly difficult.

Sorry I didn't join you guys, when I first came on some of you were in full games, and later I didn't want to ditch the game I already started with randoms. I also played scavenge for the first time and it was a lot of fun, kept thinking just one more game and ended up playing til almost 3.

Running separate was fine until the alarm, but we really need to hang tight at that point rather than run for it.
 
If you guys are playing expert today I can join. If you need the achievement I'll sacrifice myself to save you lol. Just let me know what time.

Anex sorry I couldnt save you at the finale, I tried going back to shoot off the zombies but the tank punched me. It was difficult fighting two tanks at once. At first I thought it was a glitch, but after it happened again I figured the director was screwing with us -_-
 
If you guys ever need another for these expert runs, I need to do most of the campaigns still(only finished the Parish on expert so far). I am usually on most night late(after midnight EST) after work and early than that in the evening the nights I don't work!

and Scavenge Mode is some of the most fun I've had in a while, I second playing that if you haven't! It gets pretty competitive and much more team based than versus, oddly enough.
 
I'll have some time tonight to play some campaigns on expert if anyone wants to play

It may have been posted in the deals forum- I'm not sure. But I noticed a few days ago that this game is on sale for $26.99 on Amazon. I'm hoping to get it in the next couple days... hopefully the price won't go back up.

The game just felt like more of the same when I played it, like it should be an expansion pack. But I always said that it'd be well worth it for $30 or so, so $27 sounds good to me!

It was $20 on ea store. Not sure if deal is still live.
 
I just had the weirdest game. This guy (who was an odd-looking Coach, completely bronze/black from head to toe) changed his name to Valve Admin mid-game and all sorts of crazy stuff started to happen. We were outside near the ground instead of upper floors at the beginning of the mall level and the entire floor was scattered with weapons, there was low gravity, infinite ammo and while going down the elevator all sorts of uncommon including 2 tanks spawned inside.

I've had stuff like that happen before, but never the 'Valve Admin' business. On another note, sorry for not staying longer. I'd already been playing for about 2 hours and I needed some food. I'm probably gonna be on later tonight if you'll be on then.

I actually just saw that thread a few minutes ago. I had no idea till today. It expired on 4/9. The game is now $60 at the EA Store.

Yeah, I've had that happen a couple of times. Once on the Parish I was in low gravity and another time I was on top of the mall atrium with several tanks. Another time I was in hard rain and there were like 20 witches that had spawned.
 
I haven't been in any games with crazy modding like that. The only game I can remember being in that was screwy was one where we had infinite ammo and molotovs/pipe bombs.
