League of Legends anyone?
Well, I only follow our awesome tanks into battle, and I think Icedrake usually plays tanky characters, so we should all blame him :)
True, it probably IS his fault... but lets blame Bazinga instead ;)
True, it probably IS his fault... but lets blame Bazinga instead ;)
BAZINGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In non blaming news, I played a game a game as Nunu and had 2 perfect ults. We probably would have won anyhow, but I ulted in front of their center tower and slowed and nearly killed 4 of them, then my team aced them. Then about 5 minutes later, they were chasing about to kill our morde, I flashed in hit 4 of them, we aced them again and it was over. I don't even think they realized what was going on the second time, don't think any of them even tried to get out of the ult.

No patch video but they gave some written notes:

Survivability and Items

For this patch, we’re taking a look at survivability items that provide a ton of cooldown reduction. Due to the higher base damages of bruiser-style characters, this combination of CDR and damage mitigation was particularly powerful. We ultimately found that many items had excessively inexpensive CDR. With this in mind, we took a swipe at Spirit Visage, Frozen Heart, Glacial Shroud and Soul Shroud to bring these values more in line. This isn’t the only change to tanky DPS that we have in mind, and you can expect more comprehensive adjustments for a future patch.

Champions Changes

Vladimir remains a problematic champion who -- while not explicitly overpowered -- nullifies a lot of meaningful interactions between players and tends to snowball more heavily than others due to the gold value multiplier of his passive. We reduced this value, along with making Sanguine Pool a little less of a “get-out-of-gank-free” card, while retaining its anti-focus-fire mechanic. This included some long-awaited bug-fixes to Sanguine Pool, which should affect his pre-level 6 tower diving.

Also, while we’d done some smaller nerfs to Rammus over the last couple patches, we decided to hit the speed on powerball by 15% in order to make his chase/CC combination a little bit less of a sure thing. We’ll be keeping an eye on this change over the course of the patch, and evaluating it to see if this has the intended impact.

Anivia’s lane harass was proving too easy to pull off for too high of a reward. To address this, we increased the mana cost of pulsing (quickly activating and deactivating) Glacial Storm and lessening the slow duration. This will reward leaving it down longer a little more, but make her R-to-E lane harassment less of a free-be.

Ryze: A Legend Reborn

Finally, we took time to give Ryze a needed overhaul, updating his design to make his gameplay more unique.

Ryze has always had a ton of burst damage potential, along with a repeatable, single-target. However even with a very powerful ultimate and a substantial amount of AoE damage he wasn’t reliable enough as a champion. Players didn’t have an incentive to select Ryze when alternatives such as Annie have a stronger upfront burst.

With Ryze we decided to attempt a new type of champion design: a ranged, caster-carry. We worked to turn him into a champion that dished out sustained DPS and has a powercurve similar to a standard ranged physical carry. In essence, Ryze would become the Ashe of magic.

In order to achieve this, we started by dropping the base damage of Ryze’s spells across the board. To compensate, we added scaling along a stat that increases with each level (in this case mana), since champions don’t gain ability power with level. Next, we reduced his cooldowns significantly, turning him into a sort of spell machine gun. Finally, we increased the range on his abilities in order to give him better options for kiting strategy.

Ultimately, we wanted to create a character that would thrill those players looking for a high skill-cap champion with an active, fast-paced play style.
The Vlad nerf will satisfy the QQers, the Rammus nerf is dumb, the CDR nerf on defensive items is ridiculous. Apparently, Riot hates tanks.

Also, I'm going to take a break from LOL starting Sunday. I've ignored my PS3 for awhile.

cd reduction item nerf, i'll have to see what that entails, but i normally rush ionian boots and soul shroud on janna, soooooo =*(

That last game we could have won if we focused Yi that last fight. Once he got 4 of us, it was over, just ran up mid and went to town.

Maybe I'll get Yi so we have someone who can BD when we need it.

Basically for AD people, the longer the game goes on, the stronger they become. Thats why Tryn, Yi, and Ashe are so freaking dangerous late game

I'm somewhat annoyed right now with my computer. I was running Windows 7 32 bit with 4 gb ram and LoL was a constant 75 FPS. I wanted more ram, but Windows 7 32 will only take 4 gb, so I updated to windows 7 64 bit and installed another 4 gb ram. So now with 8 gb ram Lol runs around 60 fps, but drops to like 48 pretty often. I know that isnt a huge difference but after doubling my ram I excepted an increase in performance, not a decrease. :(

We should get on the offensive more often. Stay together, push a lane, force a teamfight.

What mode is your PC set to?

Start >> Control Panel >> System and Security >> Power Options >> High Performance.

Let me know if that fixes anything :).

i had the best team in ranked!

US: Lux (ME), Malph, Panth, Janna, and Kog

Janna and Kog had the WORST builds. AD Janna and AP Kog

Panth, Malph, and I carried us all the way

Panth was: 22-5-12
I was: 9-6-18
Malph: 7-4-22

We fought: Teemo, Taric, Nidalee, Jax, and Annie

Teemo farmed minions the WHOLE game and we just killed him. I was 2-shotting him at the end. He farmed 363 minions

Was a 1 hour game too

im bringing it back up slowly

I LOVE SKILLSHOT characters.

I always rock my skillshots with Lux. No one ever escapes!!! Im like a skillshot champion of the WORLD

Played a bunch of games with Vaguemar, won most of them. Good teamwork.

I played 1 ranked game, lolzzzzzzz

The people it matched me with, I mean the game had to be kidding. Why do these people play ranked?? Everyone was yelling and saying everyone else sucked and the other team was just laughing the whole time. lol

:D

i love being on the teams that beat the people who dont know how to play.

i was in a ranked game, and before champ select, this guy says "jungle shaco"

so we say ok

then in game he says "im not really sure how to do it, its my 3rd time"

we lost that game

we had a lux also who didnt know she could out-range pantheon either

I hate when people jungle without having done it before. Last week, solo queued and a Yi instalocked and said "JUNGLE YI." Then said he didn't speak English and didn't know how to do it. Couldn't kill Blue or Red buff, barely killed the other camps. The third time he recalled I told him to just lane with me. Fortunately we won.

Certain people don't know how to jungle. You should be able to out level the double lane, and keep up with the mid and solo lane. I've seen good junglers outlevel the mid lane.

I always jungle with nunu and it's very easy. You are only limited by your cooldown on consume, which I guess means I really should switch to cooldown reduction glyphs, hmmm.

To get a decent ELO in solo ranked, you have to duo que, and you have to play champs where you can win the game for your team. I could see a strong pusher, a carry, strong jungler/ganker winning the game for you. I would say someone who is a strong early/mid game ganker would be best. A tank or support your are pretty much just going to get a 50/50 win loss if that. It's sorta dumb because it's a team game, but of course you are then limited by your teammates. My ELO sucks, but I think I'm a good team player.

one of my ranked games on sunday we had a jungle wolf who TORE it up. Was awesome.

And another game I was jungle Shen and tore it up. Jungle Shen is like the easiest thing in the world

PS: I hear Wakakaa is a pirate!

Me and Hippo had a game last night. Their team had a Renekton (who was kinda a jerk), Nasus, Mundo, Sona and Anivia. In teamfights we couldnt even HURT them. It was ridiculous. We could kill any of them if we caught them alone in the jungle, but that was about it. Bottom fed Renekton and Sona, mid broke even with Anivia, and up on top we kept them pushed back about 70% of the time, but couldnt get a kill. At the end the tanks could steam roll our whole team under the towers while constantly regaining health. Sad sad game.
And another game I was jungle Shen and tore it up. Jungle Shen is like the easiest thing in the world
He's only easy if the other team doesn't try to counter jungle. If they do, all Shen can do is run away.

Yeah.......that is an annoying team.

In other news, if i dont like how the tree dude is, I am totally getting Trundle next. And im going to use him because i know ice doesnt like him

One thing that team did last night is everyone bought Sunfires. Renekton bought 4. Our team said something about them not stacking, and the other team disagreed. I thought they made them so they dont stack?

Dont you know what unique means? Dont doubt yourself man!!!

:D

P.S: They were probably just trolling you :p

Ez is free this week!! Im gonna rock him up and down the lanes!

Sunfires indeed do not stack anymore.

Tanky teams are always weird to fight. If they can outlevel you, they can push turrets really easily. I've played against teams which I would have guessed wouldn't have enough DPS, but then got totally rolled midgame.

I don't dislike Trundle. I thought about getting him but I'll wait until he's free again.

I'm thinking of getting Kassadin next. He seems fun with his ult and is a mage assassin.

That's why I want to try him. Of all the champions I've played, they're either a faceroll (Garen, Morde, Xin to a degree) or really straight forward (Nasus, Nunu, Malphite). Plus I've always played melee champs so it'll be fun to play a mage.

last night (sunday night) i played one solo queu game

our amumu fed a little early, bitche he had to tank, bitched he hated amumu, then stacked 6 heart of gold. toward the end he actually bought some stuff, but it seemed like he was trolling at first, and still was later, but realized we werent a bad team makeup and played as serious as he could while trolling. our akali got fed sorta, by ganking their zilean a lot. she had 26 kills at end lol. i played karma, had a decent kda, but had one death i shouldnt have had, because my computer freaked out. i think i need to get my keyboard replaced, because it has a wmp key and it keeps opening the program randomly, wich pulls me outta lol..... sigh =( but at least i have a warranty thing on the keyboard to get it replaced free, i need to look into drivers first, could be that

The multiple hearts of gold never made any sense to me. It also doesn't help that anyone I've seen do it has been terrible. I think I saw a vlad do it once, the other team laughed and laughed.

If you are getting Randuin's Omen it makes sense to get a heart of gold early. If you want an item to get you more gold, get a sunfire. If you are ammumu and want to spend more gold than that on farming items, then you shouldn't have played ammumu. Mundo and Nasus are much better farmers.

I always think it's funny when someone bans Soraka or someone similar in ranked. Everyone on your team will be like WTF!!!!!!!, but since both teams can then choose any champs it really doesn't actually matter. But boy oh boy do people want to blame the bans for loosing the game.

I remember that one time playing with Flipper. We knew their top player was going to play Kennen (due to que dodges) so we banned Kennen. So the guy played Swain, was sad we banned Kennen, then proceeded to waste us and carry his team.

Good times.

and in other good news, im back to 1110 ELO!

Last night I played with Vera and we had a 60 min ranked game.

We TOTALLY could of won, but Vera had little lag and disconnected twice. Whenever she disconnected, the other team always got 1-2 towers :\

I still think Vera is a she.

But it was a great game. I was Lux, Vera was Akali, and we had Jungle Yi (who sucked in the jungle and died to minions and didnt gank), a gangplank who was real good with him, and we had....someone i forget who else.

I wish all ranked games were like this. It was back to back the whole time.

But in the end, their Nasus and Sion were too much after we were badly hurt and finished our 2 nexus towers and nexus

Gangplank is an interesting champion. He is not OP at all, but can win games for his team. I've tried him before but I hated playing him, lol. Maybe I should try him again, next time he is free.

Stacking the gold items never made sense to me.

There's a Kat guide on leaguecraft that recommends stacking 6 Kage's Lucky Pick (25 AP gold/sec).

Each Pick costs 765G. 6 of them costs 4590 and you get 150 AP. I'd rather get Sorceror's Shoes and Rylai's for 4205G. You have about half the AP but also 20 magic pen, 500 HP, and the slowing passive. Not to mention you can get 202 AP for 3600G with Rabadon's.

It also takes 25.5 min for a Pick to break even on it's cost ([765/5]*10).

I recall reading it was the worst Gold/Sec item because you pay 330G for 5 AP and the passive and builds into an item very few people seem to get.

The only champion stacking a Gold/sec items makes sense IMO is Rammus with Heart of Gold. He's a crappy farmer so the gold/sec really helps, and Armor adds to his AD so you're getting 3 stats but paying for 2 (excluding the passive as a stat). Plus, Randuin's Omen is a great item almost every tank builds anyway. The increase from it's recipe is better, too, as you're paying 200G for 20 HP, 9 Armor, and 2.25 AD (from Rammus' passive).

Twisted Fate's bonus per kill is lovely. My friend is a regular with him, and despite the fact it's only a measly 2 gold so around 300 more a match, it really tends to help out earlier in the match for me.

He generally plays a lot of gold increasing characters. Gangplank is one of his favorites, and it just puts me to shame when I try to use him -- he's kinda in love with Sion at the moment though.

I should really work on last hitting. Sivir just kinda auto-last hits everything. Played a 5 v 5 last night and I ended up getting 6 out turret kills with two other people there.

Sivir is too easy to play :(.

I actually tried that Kat guide once... I wouldn't recommend using it. You DO seem to have a lot of money flowing in once you have a few picks, but you're set back too much by them.

philo stone stacking on singed is a great strat. he's pure utility anyway and you won't need items till that 25 minute mark. and thats not breaking even, thats making the money back not counting selling the stone. you can break even far before then. its around the 15 minute mark.

i put at least 1 philo on poppy and rush it at the start. she has horrible early game and needs gold....and the regen helps her lane AND is great for her passive

I like how they nerfed Omen's CDR AGAIN

I love how they nerf defensive items' CDR and add an offensive item with CDR, an AP one at that. Gotta keep making those mages more powerful....

I've been enjoying my break from LOL though.

its been nice. im enjoy your break too :D

Woooo surrenders at 20 min.

Thank goodness. 5 minutes less with terrible teams.

Tree dude seems like someone I would like playing. New Ryze seems interesting. I used to play him a lot, but he's very team dependent.

I love how when LoL's game servers are down, the website goes down too so you cant find out whats up... oh wait no, not love, whats the opposite of that one again?
