League of Legends anyone?

All the new players on this forum should get a group together and play. Those of us with smurf accounts will help you out if you need it too. You really dont want anyone with a lvl 30 account playing with you because matchmaking will put you against more higher level players.
 
So they're implementing 3D into LOL. Before anyone gets ahead of themselves, no, it's not the good 3D that requires a 3D monitor and special glasses, it's the shitty kind that uses the red/blue glasses from the 80's. I seriously couldn't stop laughing at the announcement page.

Queued as Taric tonight and playing with my one friend who was Corki. So we lane and the rest of our team is a premade of three Brazilians. The whole chat was in Brazilian so we had to mute them because they would not shut up (and I don't know Brazilian). So the game turned to bottom lane raping with me and Corki, rest of the team sucking and us carrying their ass.

I did however score a perfect 4/0/19 win out of it, so all is good. I need to buy Taric now, he is fabulously outrageous :lol:.
 
Taric is indeed a beast. So Tanky and good. Leona is going to be free to play this week. If you like Taric, you might like her. She is amazing with Corki since she has three stuns. Three stuns+Machine Gun=FTW.

I play mostly with friends from college so I have a good 5-6 friends usually.
 
For my video game design class, we have to do a paper and presentation on a topic of our choice. I chose to do mine on MOBA games, mostly focusing on LoL.

How much should I say it sucks?

The game itself doesn't suck, it's the community and the match making system that sucks.

One could argue the game is terribly imbalanced and that Riot has no clue what they're doing from patch to patch, what with all the nerfing and over-buffing that goes on.

To me, if a game 'sucks' then nobody would be playing it, i.e. Duke Nukem Forever. I think a lot of people would agree that League of Legends is not one of those games.

Some people also play multiplayer games play them because they were asked/forced to and then they just get hooked no matter how bad they are. I mean, I got into League because friends were like hey you should come join us, and I been hooked since. I am sure other, worse games like farmville had the same impact, people doing it for something to do with friends.

On a different note. I love free Karthus week. Played my daily ip bot game today, laining with a Karthus. I don't mind if it's your first time, but this Karthus would throw up his AOE field like 2 feet from champs and not walk into champs to damage them, lol. I can understand if it's your first time, but there are some things that are just common sense, lol.

This too. I still really only play LOL because I have a bunch of friends that play. If I didn't know anyone who played, I wouldn't even touch the game anymore.

Thinking about it now, just having a powerpoint presentation with some tribunal cases will work nicely to show the community of this game is horrible.
 
The game != community. The game is fine. Sure there is some balancing issues to work out, and maybe some work with matchmaking that needs done, but most of the games problem is the community. You can't blame the game for people being assholes.

Yeah, I really have not played a online game where I can truly say it's balanced. LoL is no different.

I don't need ip, I mean I have a collection of champs I really enjoy for each role, but I just play a daily in the morning so I can eventually save up for a champ that I find fun, but I don't own.

Just played a game where my 4 team mates had no idea how to counter a full tank team. Even with my 22 kills I could not carry this piece of shit team. This, my friends, is why the community sucks. People continue to play ranked games and have no idea how to deal with some of the basic mechanics of the game. I'm at the point where I WANT Riot to have a subscription system where you pay 10/month to play ranked games. Maybe just start with the basics and have a ignore list where if I ignore people I won't ever get matched with them ever again.

It's one of the most annoying things in the world. I fucking hate when I'm trying to run from someone and pathing wont make up its mind if it wants to go left or right around the creep, so it sits there dancing around not going either direction and you wind up getting fucked because of it.
 
Anyone else feel like they need to buff mana regen or mana total? Seems like every game I OOM fast even with a Philo Stone and have to buy a Mana Crystal and build it into something.
 
I know I do, but Lux is a mana hog and I'm fairly aggressive with her.

Also I totally saved Ice's ass in a game last night, pro shield + pro snare = Ice lives.

So I bought Lee Sin today and played a match and man, he is so much fun. I'm still learning how to jungle (since my best roles are support, mid, and top) well and I can see how he can be such a threat. Dat Q.
 
Sometimes I wonder why people still continue to attack the tanks first when in a team fight. It's so obvious when you see someone play and wonder why they are playing a ranked game. Clearly they do not have the know-how of the basic mechanics of the game, and yet there they are trying to tower dive at 30% health even though you've ctrl clicked to warn them to retreat. Nope they're not listening, and that was the 3rd time you've warned them not to do something silly like that. Yet, they continue to troll these ranked games.

Yup, just another day of LoL.
 
Good games tonight. Overall I went 6-1 today. The one loss was my first Riven game, I was beating Trynd top but then someone left and it snowballed out of control for us.

The Caitlyn game was fun. It was me and Taric vs Riven and Ezreal. I got First Blood by doing an aggressive Flash which I never do. Then we just kept wrecking them. They'd walk in my traps, then Taric would stun them and we'd get them so low they'd have to recall or use all their potions.

The Riven games went well. The last one we were struggling early, but I help the lane vs GP well. Their Ahri seemed to DC at times, but then in teamfights they just couldn't outdamage us.

And Riven's ult is OP. I was chasing Wukong with Warwick top in a gank, I ignited him and just blindly threw my ult hoping it'd reach him and it did.

quickest way to get me to not do something in lol is to tell me to do it. repeatedly. i will do the opposite just to piss you off. no shit you're supposed to do X. consider the situation as to why they did it anyway.
 
Started playing a few co-ops again, because I heard they were putting that Bunnygirl Riven skin. Turns out it's there now, and I might just be stupid enough to buy it and use it for a co-op game every other week.


So how do you all play Riven anyways?
Is her skill priority still supposed to be
Q (at lvl 1), R > W > E > Q
 
I got Riven. Granted I'm still learning her but I laned against a Yorick and it was insanely hard to push him out of the lane. Tryndamere was also tough. Try to 1v1 pre-6 him and he'll just dash away. Forget about it after 6, he'll dive you with that BS. Those 2 games I ended up losing b/c of my team. Another game I fell behind GP early since I tried to get a kill but got too low and had to recall. Just farmed but kicked ass in teamfights.

I was doing Q first, then R > E > Q > W. I think the shield is better early on since it doesn't block as much late game.
 
I'm hoping Riven goes on sale soon. She was pretty fun when I tried her. I'm still trying to master Rumble and man, he is ridiculous. Danger Zone Flamethrower too stronk. I still kind of prefer Vlad or Swain top, though. Oh, I did a match last night as AS Lulu in top lane against a GP and I can see how stupid he (GP) is. Of course, once I had my Madred's and Wits End he couldn't take me. She is ridiculous. I personally love supporting as her but so many people don't understand what she can do bot lane so I usually get bitched at for not using my magic nuke or non-existent heal. >>

Did anyone watch the tournament this weekend by the way? Freaking crazy. :eek:

I'm pretty sure they ninja buffed Rumbles flame thrower. I used to play him a lot when he came out because he was really strong. Then they nerfed the flamethrower so I stopped. I played against a Rumble top the other day and the flamethrower was back to doing ridiculous amounts of damage again.

last game of the evening was hilarious and the only win.

our team was...
jungle trundle - zinrae
jungle warwick- me
jungle shaco- pub
soraka- pub
mordekaiser- pub

i laned with soraka against lulu and ashe and there was literally nothing they could do. too much sustain with soraka healing me, i'd just run up and take chunks out of them when i felt like it.

mid, morde stomped a poor kennen and had the turret down in 4 mins.

solo top, zinrae as trundle took on malphite and was pretty much even lane.

in the jungle we had shaco vs a jungle urgot.

with 3 junglers on our team we would trade off in our jungle and taking their jungle as well. they got rolled in every lane AND jungle. i would have hated to face this team and it was no surprise when they surrendered at 20.
