Yes, of course I would play it online. But let's imagine my friend comes over one day and says "Hey, what's that Left 4 Dead game?" and we sat down to play it local co-op. Would we:

a) end up beating the game over the course of a 6-pack
b) within 30 minutes, find ourselves switching to a DVD instead

Would you say L4D co-op experience is like a fleshed out version of RE4's "Mercenaries" mode?

i think itd be worth playing with your buddy.
i cant see you beating it on expert that way. but advanced would be pretty fun.
i cant comment on mercenaries mode a i havent played that.

Anyone up for a Expert campaign tonight @ the usual time?

Btw cmart did you get a chance to implement either of the plans you sent me and if so how did it work out?

I'll try getting on tonight but probably unlikely, if anything for sure tommorow night.

Um.. the Death Toll one worked, easily. If you don't get a chance tonight to do it, I'll run one tomorrow night. We actually had to do it twice because some of us didn't get the achievement the first time.

Blood Harvest is tough man, we tried over and over and nothing also remember the dashboard thing? If you're the host you need to back out the dashboard and get invited back in too, that's also why we had to do deathtoll over, lol.

Has anyone been experiencing a lot of disconnecting lately? I'll freeze up for 10-30 seconds and then get booted after another couple minutes. It's coming to the point were the game is unplayable. At first it was once every couple hours of play but now its every 10 minutes, I can't even stay in a game past the first area. I tried installing the game to the HD and no help. I'm starting to get really aggrivated.

I really hate most people on Xbox Live, but every once in a while, you meet the coolest group of people. I played versus with the same group for several hours last night. I think we made it through four full games. Everyone was talking and laughing and having a great time, even though we were losing pretty badly for most of the game. So great; I love getting teamed up with cool people.

Now it's time to wade through another sea of Xbox Live degenerates before that blue moon shows up again...

I'm getting that too; it finally settled at one point but it was still a huge pain in the ass...

Really? I hate XBL the most when I get teamed up with bad people...

I'd much rather play with people who know what they're doing that talk every once in awhile than with people who suck...

or you can just friend those peeps and keep playing with them?
or CAGs like us!! :D

I Got to hand it to Valve...

There's no other experience I've had in a game that compares to playing No Mercy on Expert and beating the second tank and me and my friends making a mad dash to the helicopter, when suddenly one of them gets tied up by a smoker, but tells us to keep going and we do. Then all of a sudden a tank comes from out of no where and knocks my other surviving friend down and so it's only down to me and my deceased friends screaming at me "RUUNNNN!!!!" And I do and in less than a minute I become the sole survivor of No Mercy on expert with all my friends egging me to live on. Bravo Valve. Bravo.

Ugh... COD4 consumed my soul last night. I teamed up with two other guys I met weeks ago and our teamwork is STILL ridiculously good. We smashed face and thoroughly enjoyed it... until a bunch of rotten spawn camping Juggernaut/Last Stand using retards decided to dominate every Headquarters map we faced them on. We never had a chance because they always had two people camping in the spots it was going to spawn.

Team Deathmatch wasn't much better until we met these other braggart assholes who whined when we were paired up with them and lost, but mysteriously dropped when we dominated their asses 102 - 0 3 minutes into the frickin' game.

Ah well... I'm still down for a few campaigns tonight but if my friends show up again I'll probably take another rain check. >_>

It's getting a bit disappointing never having any challenge in versus mode. We're convinced random people don't know how to play the game. The ending scores always tend to be close to 10000 for us and like 300 or less for them. We actually killed a team in front of their safe room, their score for that part was 3.

Good story

I agree. Any game that gets people screaming...

"GO GO GO!!!"
"ARG!!! SAVE YOURSELVES!!!"
"TAAAANK!!!" *Flies off building*
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
"IT'S TOO LATE FOR HIM!!! RUUUUN!!!"

...into their mics is a good game in my book.

add me Galego23... we don't like playing versus but if you guys are on we'll give it a shot.

Ditto. I'm down for Versus as well. I don't really know how to play it but I doubt the learning curve is that steep so give us a few rounds and I'm sure we'll provide a decent challenge.

That happened to me too, except the map difficulty changed it to six.

sorry guys i've been hangin out at night lately but i think that i will be on tomorrow night if you guys wanna play blood harvest or versus

and i agree...those "oh shit, you go ahead" moments make this game worth the money
fucking A, I really hope they fix this moving of objects to block the path nonsense soon.
Same, it sucks to be whooping the ass of the infected team and they resort to pushing a forklift or whatever infront of a door. Only reason I have YET to go back to versus again.

That's why you always make sure you are the humans the first round ;). If they do that shit to you, you have a chance to retaliate. People are always doing that when my friends and I are raping them. Do you think they even get to the elevator on the hospital level when they do that bullshit? They rarely get past the corridors.

Ditto. I promise to pull myself away from COD today because this Sim City-esque create a barricade garbage on Versus is the type of BS I have to experience for myself first hand.

I think I"ll be hosting my own games from now on to make sure that no one will be fucking around with the forklift/generator beforehand. Play clean or don't play at all.
Blood Harvest. Expert. Finale. Any tips?
Start upstairs in the house. When the tank comes light him on fire with a molitov and run over to the barn, go up top, hop down and then run back over to the house. Repeat.
Blood Harvest. Expert. Finale. Any tips?
Barricade yourselves in the bathroom upstairs. Get 3 people by the door and make sure they do nothing but melee like maniacs. The zombies shouldn't even hit you. Get one person up on higher ground than the 3 melee people and have him/her use his/her shotty/M16(I prefer the shotty because it gets multiple zombies at once and it's overall better against the tank) on the zombies. That person that's shooting will be the one that has to watch out for smokers. That's really the only thing that can get you.

Once you hear the tank music go out of the bathroom and turn right into that room. Go out the door and head straight for the barn. Go get ammo(if needed) at the barn and wait there. The tank will either come from the hole, in front of you or from the ladder area. If you're all at green health you can outrun the tank. Make someone get his attention and use the barn as an obstacle course. Make the tank climb a lot while you have 2-3 people shooting him. If he changes course and goes after someone else, tell that person to run like hell and continue with the strategy. The time he takes to climb up to the top level of the barn 3 people can unload 10 shotty shots on him with no problem at all. Communication is key. Always let your partners know where the tank is and make sure you have a partner with you at all times. You will encounter smokers every once in a while.

I made it to the finale on Advanced on No Mercy with some random people, but couldn't beat it. There was one AI and two quite bad players with no mic once we reached the last safe room. The one kept randomly shooting his teammates and eventually he wouldn't even take the game seriously and started killing everyone. Eventually I got pissed and killed everyone and did nothing until they all quit. I tried making my way to the rooftop, but I heard a tank coming and ran back to the safe room. Killed him and got my Tankbusters and Man vs. Tank achievements. At least I got something out of all of that.

Hmm have to try that on Blood Harvest. Last one I need to finish on expert to get the achievement.
Think I am going to lay off a bit of vs with people I don't know too many people glitching and the past two days there have been way to many children playing and screaming in my ears. It took me 5 tries to find a game I could tolerate staying in this morning.
Gamertag is sleepydumbdude, I still need the handgun through the whole thing achievement. I feel like a prick doing with other people that are just trying to beat it.

Seems like everyone is having the most difficulty with Blood Harvest. We could never find anything to light the Tanks on fire with, which is where we always got killed. Usually by the second one.

Eventually.

I actually have not even played a versus game yet. I'd like to get in with some CAG's who aren't going to go apeshit while I get my infected legs under me.

Had a good run the other night with CAG's Ainogeist and Galego23. If either of you guys still need No Mercy on expert, some friends showed me a glitch on that map that makes it a breeze for the finale. Got the Untouchables achievement from it.

hey man, yeah it was a good run for the most part haha. We actually all got No Mercy already... we basically just need Blood Harvest for the achievement.

If you guys are on tonight we should get a game going on... I may or may not be on though...depends if me and my friends decide to do something.

What's the glitch?
What's the glitch?
When you get the final launchpad there's a door on the right that you can't open. It's that little raised building connected to the right of the ramp (when facing the rescue room from the pad). Anyway, the trick is to get on top of that building and get the horde to break down that door. So you attract their attention and get on the ledge over the door. They should rush it and break it down while they climb up at you. This room is "off the map". So you can hide in the back of the room through the entire rescue sequence including both tanks. Then run like hell for the pad and throw the pipe bombs to distract the horde. Good for The Untouchables.
Got this game today. Can't wait to hear all the "noob" comments from not knowing wtf to do :(
Just please....PLEASE don't try to hulk up and go into the advanced/expert rooms yet!!!!

People who barely know their way around try to do that and ruin it for people
