LEGO Deals 3

The law stipulates the minimum size and location, so there's not much of a choice for manufacturers.
That's got to be some EU bullshit. Make sure to get the covid shots that have killed who knows how many, but toy companies need to put a massive warning for a few dozen who die from eating batteries. 🙄

The sale seems to have ended. I'm hoping for 50% off the Dreamzzz treehouse during Christmas sales season, aka next month.

If anyone still cares about Ideas. New sets approved are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Italian Rivieria. Lego is also looking into the Pixar Lamp but my guess is it's not going to pass because it's unstable.

LEGO updated the Bricklink Series rules and boy is LEGO the greediest fucking bitch.

You can't do modulars, baseplates, use the name of Space or Castle factions. You can't use fossil fuels in you toy vehicles... Because LEGOs aren't made with fossil fuel byproducts.

My favorite is you can only use one minifigure for every 375 pieces in the set. That means that the Mushroom House could only have two figures under the new rules. So two minifigures in a NINETY dollar set?!

So Lego is going to cancel all future car sets unless they're based on electric cars?
You misunderstand, Lego operates under the mantra “rules for thee, not for me”

The “no modulars” feels like the biggest shift given how many brick link sets are modular-based. I just don’t get why they’re cracking down so much, even going all the way back to Cuusoo the rights and payouts for fan-created content has been a pittance, why not just keep getting basically free ideas from the fans?

What does that mean? The model has to look electric?
YES!
Like you can't build a gas station, that's no longer allowed. However if it's a historical vehicle I think it's okay.
What does LEGO think all those Speed Champ cars race on? Unicorn pee?
  1. Avoid highlighting fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas (e.g. depicting refineries, fuel storage or gas stations). It’s acceptable to showcase historical methods of transportation that rely on fossil fuels (e.g. steam locomotives). Modern vehicles need to adhere to this guideline, therefore the propulsion method should be ambiguous if it is not a sustainable power source.

The baseplates used to be made by a third party, so banning them would make sense. It literally bans modulars.
  1. Buildings are acceptable to submit to BDP, but they should not reflect the Modular format. If a building looks similar to the design language of the ICONS Modular subtheme (row style building, separating floors, etc) it should use a different base technique. Buildings should also not copy the ICONS Modular baseplate layout design language directly (32x32 baseplate, sidewalk with lamps, Technic connection points). When we review BDP submissions, we will ask “could this model be confused as an ICONS Modular building?”
Sidewalks WITH LAMPS are also banned. Because we al know sidewalks don't have lighting. This BS is why more than half the USA hates liberals.

LEGO just made a Creator aquarium. That's now banned in the Bricklink sets.
You can't use the same minifigure head more than once. So you can't have only Classic LEGO smile anymore.

Wow, this is the dumbest shit I've read out of Lego, possibly ever. Some of their first City sets were the licensed Shell gas stations! The gas station was one of my most used City sets since every car had to stop there.

Street lamps are banned? At least this has us covered there https://gameofbricks.eu/products/led-lego-street-lamp-post

Can't have the same face twice? Why? Who would care?

Barnes and Noble has some sets for 25% off which doesn't seem all that great but some of them are older, retired
I’m really on the fence for that Atari set. It’s a little before my time, NES was more my childhood video game timeframe but it’s a pretty cool little set.

Amen. Some of these replies to LEGO are laughable. LEGO is never going to approve a modular via Ideas or Bricklink and they point out how to avoid getting shot down which is a good idea. People are wasting their time submitting them, and they're wasting LEGO's time reviewing them. They point out a few techniques/features to avoid for a better chance at success and people post inane third grade level political drivel. Too funny.

Yes your reply is laughable as Lego has already approved modulars, including the train station in the latest series and set 910009 the MODULAR Lego Store, which even has a *GASP* lamp post!

But please continue to post your wrong inane drivel. Too funny.

found an endcap display of DnD minifigures yesterday at Walmart, the price sign showed $5.23 - not sure if this was a mistake, left up from whatever was there in before. Tried scanning in the app and it said product was not valid, I am guessing because they're street dated for Sep 1.

You guys see this? What a joke.

$2.40-$4 a pound, regardless of content, what a deal!

Who is this for, exactly? The payout definitely doesn't make it worth while for collectors looking to downsize, unless it's just bulk basic bricks, and people who don't value Lego aren't going to go through the hassle of jumping through all those hoops vs tossing it as-is on Facebook/Craigslist/the trash.

no post from TheBigD in over two weeks?!?!
Barnes and Noble, Target and Amazon all having various sales. I was about to finally pick up the Disney Camera set as its on sale at Amazon and Target but knew to check FB Marketplace as there are a few sellers who have it anywhere from $45-$70 bucks so gonna try there first.
