For those of you finding the minifigs at Target, what section are they in? Back in the toys with the other Legos, on an end cap, or perhaps up by the collectible cards type stuff? I stopped in at my local one before work this morning, and didn't see a tag for them on the shelves. Thanks.
Mini seasonal :)

In all of MY local stores, it's usually right near the entrance. (no, not the $1-3 section that's there year round)

I have been finding them in the Halloween section, which I know seems odd. Back with the costumes, there is at least 1 aisle for candy. There is typically a 1/2 - 1 full aisle for Halloween toys. I guess for people who want to give away toys instead of candy. I have seen Halloween themed Play-Doh and Halloween Barbie dolls in this section. Along this aisle, this is where I have found the series 2 mini-figs, as well as the World Racers & Atlantis impulse sets.

Side note, the first store I went to had them in the blue box. 1 box was sealed, and one was opened. However, the most recent 2 stores I have been to have just had the minifigs dumped onto the shelf.

I've found them all over. Mostly in the Halloween section, but I've also found them in the LEGO section and up front by the sports cards and pokemon crap.

I grabbed 13 figures today from Target for $1.99 each. I haven't figure out what I got yet. I picked them up around 9:15am, went and did some errands and went back around 11:30 and they raised the price up to $2.99. It sucks that they raised the price.

EDIT: I got:
Lifeguard - 1
Karate Master - 1
Cop - 1
Weightlifter -1
Ringmaster - 9 :bomb:

9 Ringmasters?!?! WTF? Well I'll be exchanging these for new ones and this will get me the $1.99 price again.

EDIT 2:
Brickset.com is saying that there is a B2G1 on all sets (except Star Wars) 9/19-9/25. Do they carry Grand Emporium or Fire Brigade in store? They don't say "Online Only" on the website.

Ouch, I feel for you with getting those Ringmasters.

As for the bigger sets, I've NEVER seen any set in my local TRU for more than $100. so that would exclude all those nice ones.

My TRU sucks
I will have to return them to the lego store, I am not going to keep all of these extras. Unless you guys think I should hold on to them for trading when series 3 comes along, though I do have series 1 for that purpose. But I think I'd rather just get my money back from the store and be done with them.
Just take them back and use the money for series 3. i have a feeling that series 3 trading will stay in the series because of the no barcodes.

You should keep on eye on this thread. I usually post TRU deals for Legos up to 1-2 weeks or so early.

Also, will have info for the first week of Bricktober on next week. Left my info sheet at work so I don't want to guess at it right now.

TRU doesn't carry the higher end sets in store. Besides the larger train set, the highest price point I've seen is $129.99.

If you want to take advantage of the sale for the larger sets online, there is a new "store ordering system" in store. It's basically a way to shop for items that a not in stock in stores. You shop like normal on the website, checkout, pay(online tru.com, can't pay in store) and get everything shipped to your house for free(no limit). Only thing is coupons can't be used during this process.

I saw these: World Racers & Atlantis impulse sets at Target are they good? expensive for what you get? Should I buy them for my son?

I think they're decent for what you pay for. It doesn't hurt to pick up one each especially considering Target is the only one with these, but act fast... Target might bump the price up to $3.99.

So there's some sort of kiosk that you can order from and get free shipping? Is that at all stores or just running as a trial in certain areas?

Rumor has it that TRU is going to be dropping the separate store business model and head back to the in-mall model. So I would assume this will probably be coming in standard soon enough, and you might find your local TRU heading to the mall. It's already starting to happen in the PNW...

I guess the good thing about the Target price hike is that these will likely sit around longer and possibly go to clearance on October 31, along with the rest of the Halloween merchandise...
It was a pretty stupid move on Target's part, however. Now people will just start hitting Walmarts instead. TRU did the same thing and essentially sent everyone to shop at Targets (for awhile anyway). In a way, us crazy collectors are probably helping to drive these prices up with all the constant phone calls! ;)

Allright guys, Most Fred Meyers should have them in stock today/tomorrow. Though I found them in the seasonal section, instead of the lego section. So make sure you double check!

I managed to get a complete box, contents as follows:

4 Mexicans
3 Spartans
5 Ringmasters
4 Witches
4 Vampires
5 Traffic Cops
3 Jungle Explorers
4 Lifeguards
4 Mime Artists
4 Weightlifters
3 Pop Stars
3 Skiers
3 DJs
5 Karate Masters
3 Surfers
3 Pharaohs

Not to be redundant, but if you can catch them today you can get in on the B2G1 + 10%, making them $1.20 each

Also - Thank you Ackbar for the heads up... I think I may have the release pattern down, so next series shouldn't be as troublesome :)

Not a kiosk, you would have to get an employee to take you to one of the computer workstations to do this. This is nationwide.

These pop up stores are only going to open for the holiday season. Opening up the stores now to get awareness that there is a location nearby. Once January comes, almost all will be shut down. I know they plan to keep a couple of the more profitable ones open longer.

These stores mostly sell older items that you won't find in the normal TRU. More of like a dumping ground for crap(mostly TRU branded stuff).

I stand corrected. I'll have to pass this on to the source of the rumor I heard.

Though, please do be giving heads up if something IS happening? I know in MY area, we've had some stores close, only to re-open in the local mall and/or stripmall.

I had a TRU Express near me that has been opened a year straight now

Was at Walmart, not a minifigure in sight. Weird store too. Very small Walmart.

Hours before the sale starts and a lot of the high end sets are suddenly "out of stock" - Green Groccer and the Emporium. I was planning on picking those up too... oh well.

For the TRU sale, LEGO Castle Medieval Market Village went OOS very quickly.
It's too bad the Emporium was OOS from the start. I really want that set.
I made an order with the LEGO Harry Potter pre-order sets. I hope they honor the discount. They've canceled pre-orders before when they didn't intend to discount them (e.g. 40% off Kinect).
I was disappointed that the road plates were not included in the sale along with the train tracks. If I can never get a break on the new road plates, I might stick to vintage road plates. I have a ton of them, but the new ones are very nice.

BTW: The head+helmet from the Target $3 Buggy look perfect for customizing SWAT/Black Ops members. I don't know what torso to use yet.

Could the police theme be anymore lame? Even for a Police theme it's boring, and rehashed. Ick.

Yeah, but that new Atlantis set looks great .. digging the Greek influence. Too bad LEGO doesn't do historical themes ... they've got those Spartans in Series 2 ...

If your TRU has any minifigs I would think they count for the B2G1 sale - it shows they work online. Just can't use more than one discount per online order, which is crap. Mine were out of stock so I was not able to confirm. I picked up:

7946 King's Castle 104.99
6243 Brickbeard's Bounty 104.99
8404 Public Transport 0.00

I was going to try this...and then I saw they did the TRU markup already. They usually release at retail for a week or two and then jack up the prices, but they did it before release with the Potter sets. $20 mark-up for Hogwarts:shock:...fuck you TRU. Just have to wait for the sale that doesn't exclude SW.

Anybody seen any Potter sets in store yet, or are they sticking to the street date for these?

Yes, October 1st

There is a rumor of an Egyptian theme next spring. However that doesn't make since in the action era of LEGO.

I love the sport ones, the cheerleader, batball, tennis, skier. Too bad I live in an area where there are none or that people are bitches and but them all.

Oh well, I save money on not having shity plastic.

I know my girlfriend will want the snowboarder. For me? Samurai, Pilot, Elf, Baseball Player, and Gorilla

Thank god there's no army building bait in this one like zombies or spartans... (maybe Samurai but I'm ok with just 1).

The pilot's face is awesome. A little disappointed at all the reused parts, especially the alien head. Really hoping some of these are just place holder parts ala the green fedora in place of the sombrero from the Mexican promo pics.

And I'm pretty sure the baseball player qualifies as army builder bait. Probably one of the easier ones to feel for too due to the bat being pretty distinctive.

It's Official. Hell has frozen over.

Stoped at TRU for their B2G1 to eat up some credit, and what do I see on the highest shelf on the end cap... 4 boxes of the minifigures.

so I started rumaging, ... one the employees commented that a few others have been searching, so I think they were there for a while, becuase all I could find was 1 Spartan.

Kinda sad.... but I did pick up an extra Vampire and Witch too.

Every box was rummaged, someone sat there and picked through 240 bags, yuck.

Series 3 is going to be crazy.

My money is going to be the Elves... I think they will be HUGE.

Personally I like only 3-4 of them, so I don't know how I'll handle trying to get them. I'll probably still order a box from EE, and sell/trade off the rest.

Dude ... my future army of GORILLAZ beg to differ ;)

Ps. Anyone save a copy of the Series 3 pic, because it appears to have been pulled.
Wow Ninja's vs. Skeletons ... what's next ... Plants vs. Zombies ...
I was hoping for ninja bs pirates!

But yeah it's bad. Doesn't make any since to reuse skeletons again when they made new molds for new aliens and fish people. Smelled in Castle, this, Space, IJ.

Just to point out to everybody here SINCE I keep seeing it, and it makes no SENSE to me:

SINCE is an adverb meaning "from then until now"

SENSE is verb/noun meaning, among other things, "something that is sensible or reasonable" and nothing remotely similar to anything meant by SINCE

Every TRU I've visited has been like that.

hi, wondering if anyone is willing to trade a sealed Disco Stu for a sealed Mr. Maracas? my son really wants Mr Maracas and i have extra Disco's. thanks!

cutiepatootie, were you the one that bought two of the $400 Millenium Falcons to sell one later? I think it's safe to sell one now since it's going for over a grand on ebay.

I hate that damn autocorrect...

I don't quite understand Ninja vs Skellies, but i'll reserve my judgement for once I've seen the rest of the sets. Plus, ninjas aside, a skeleton riding a massive motorcycle does have a certain appeal.

Also, someone mentioned the possibility of jellybean ninjas, ninja power rangers, etc. I don't have a problem with this personally. Even if it means hot pink and lime green ninjas.

I really don't know why people waited on this set, if you wanted one you should have bought one instead of waited. I wanted a second one that I could have purchased at the Lego Store for $350 but the wife gave me the eye.
I hate that damn autocorrect...
Me too. I also have "bs" instead of "ninjas vs skellies". I mean I understand bitching about English (It's "a lot" people!), but I made so many typos.

There are supposed to be small sets that only have a ninja and some trading cards or something. If tht's true I can see us getting Ninja's in weird colors. However it is better than knights in rainbow, no one ever had red metal armor. Ninja is just fabric so it works better.

In my opinion skeletons are one of the worst designed pieces in the Lego inventory. Their arms and legs are not poseable and they just have no heft to them. I don't understand the appeal at all. If they redesigned their skeletons to address these issues I might be interested.
