It's funny how they do a police station almost every year, and how they all kind of look the same. I guess they sell well. I am picturing some really serious-looking, chubby 10-year-old boy, probably a boy scout, with a room just filled with all these similar-looking Lego police stations.
At ten he would be a cub scout.
The thing is LEGO usually isn't as lazy as this in the police line, which is every 3 years.
In 2003 it was a simple, futurist World City police station with a tank looking thing. Set 7035.
In 2005 we were introduced to City and got a weird police station on a hill, the jail cell was separate, had a helicopter. That's set 7237.
2008 was the last one that looks just like this one. It was massive and different at the time. Two jail cells, two garages, two cars, a police car and a dog car. A separate set was a helicopter.
2011 is just horrible, two garages, two cells, two police cars, the dog car is now separate. The helicopter is ugly and huge. What would have been great instead of the huge helicopter if they had a smaller one that could have landed somewhere on the police set. That's what I miss with the fire stations, no more helicopters. However there is a new dog, backpack, and crowbar. LEGO seems to think you add a new piece no one will even notice and that makes an old set new!
The Agents set is sold out, funny minifigures in that theme and I only ever bought one set.
Here is the catalog download if no one wants to wait....
