wow.. 40 would be good.... where is it for 60 because I actually wouldn't mind paying that to grab it, since I never seen this set... :(
There are a couple on ebay for $60 with free shipping. I think $50 was the MSRP.
side question... if you guys were looking for bricks... where have you been shopping at???

Loose bricks... besides Lego's own Pic-a-Brick.
I've bought on the Pick a Brick wall at the lego store. I've also checked out www.bricklink.com. They are individual sellers like ebay and their prices are pretty good.

edit: oops, I missed the $15 shipping on the $60 BIN's...

yeah I've ordered a few places through Bricklink, just wondered if anyone had any good sellers...

Would like to find a "good" one that I can go back to. Seems like shipping might kill alot of these sales.

That's awesome news about the video game, even through I don't have a DS. They are planning on making a lot more LEGO games without licenses because the company is hiring video game makers.

And LEGO should have never stopped making the 100 piece brick buckets. However if you can sell 600 pieces for price the cost then I guess it's a win for them.
new lego video game that doesn't have another license attached to it:

http://kotaku.com/5146084/wizards-pirates-and-aliens-unite-in-lego-battles

"Lego Battles is a game for the Nintendo DS that combines three popular Lego toy lines - Castle, Lego Pirates and Lego Space - allowing players to create bases and customized squads in order to engage in more than 70 different levels worth of fierce block combat"
that game should be alot of fun. now just finding people to play with. sounds like a rts type game.

I like how they are talking about the DS, yet the pictures are clearly from 360 or PS3. If the DS could do those graphics I'd go buy one right now. :)

yea, they're just concept art. I want to know how this works. Can I really create any building / unit out of blocks? Are there just a bunch of predefined designs that I can 'create'? How does the combat work? Can units punch or only fire? Are there only certain pieces that can fire like guns? Or can I design my own ammo out of pieces?

I got the Vader TIE Fighter and General Grievious from the LEGO Shop. I had so much fun putting together the AT-ST from a couple months ago that I couldn't resist.

Between this thread and the Mighty Muggs thread I spend too damn much money.

Speaking earlier about the overpriced Farm.

A review on Eurobricks, they have good info sometimes, says this about the silo....

When pulled, 30 round 1x1 plates (tan, brown, and yellow) fall out.

So that's at least 40 useless pieces in the set, so there are 561 pieces for $90.

Man, that Eurobricks review makes me really want the Farm set despite the price. For that price they should give you enough 1x1s to fill the silo. And why didn't the reviewer just do everything in 1 post. It was stupid to have to read through the entire thread to see each part.
And why didn't the reviewer just do everything in 1 post. It was stupid to have to read through the entire thread to see each part.
You can't post 52 pictures in one post there, there is a limit.

Plus I think he built one or two bags a day and then took pictures. For $90 you have to spread the fun out.

Plus I know that guy, he doesn't have any common sense.

That farm set is ridiculously priced it should be $50 to $60 at the most. The buildings look like they're half-constructed, it's not a licensed product and it doesn't even have all that many pieces. For $60 more you could buy Green Grocer if I'm not mistaken ... unless I'm just missing the overall scale of the set, it doesn't seem worth the price. Perhaps when you look at other current LEGO sets it's on a similar level ... but when I started looking at the old LEGO sets I got 15 years ago, there was so much more for the cost. It just blows me away that LEGO can charge $90 for that .... god knows what those new large Lego SW & IJ sets will go for ...

Has LEGO lost their fucking mind!!!

At most $70 because of then price rise. For $90 there should have been a few more minifigures and a couple kids!

The Harvester is $45?!?!

I waited years for Farm and i doubt I'll be buying any of them. I'm trying to figure out why Power Miners has a $10 set with 98 pieces while the tractor has 78 for $13.

LEGO is nuts!

There is the Clone Wars Shuttle which has 636 pieces for $60, then there is the Solar Sail for $55 for 385. Then there are sets coming out in the summer with 250+ pieces for $40-$45. Does LEGO just throw a dart on a board for the prices?

Maybe I'll be able to find LEGO on clearance this year when no one buys the shit (yes LEGO is shit this year) because it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO overpriced!

I might grab farm when it's 90% off.... what craziness...

If it wasn't for Space Police, I might say that this is Lego's poorest year in years.

But the Pirate sets are even poor. They should have black and white sails, not red and white. Plus the sets themselves, besides the $40 one, aren't well designed or detailed. The $20 set is a huge baseplate with 20 pieces on it. The $50 base is 3-4 small sections stuck together.

Mrs Puff Keychain is on sale, and several other items have been removed.
The Pirates are back! This can't be a poor year for me!!
Well that's true, but I lump them with last year since I got all my sets last year

when is Lego's fiscal year like... since the new sets started out in like Oct... at least Pirates did.

do they even have one?

Looks like they removed that one big set, the rescue or something... it was quite a few pieces for 17. I picked that up just to bulk up my brick count.

I had wished they were going to put more Mars Mission... but no.

I'm also tempted to pick up another Skull set ... alot of white bricks.

gah... really I just want to buy some single bricks and just go to a lego store.... :(

What set are you talknig about?

LEGO doesn't have stock, it's a privately owned company so they don't need to do any finical years or anything, they do what they want. They release some of the 2009 sets in November and December because most of their sales are down in those months.

http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=6164

LEGO® Rescue Building Set

Item #: 6164

It had 520 pieces and figured for 17 from 25 it's not too bad... plus I had to get up to 30 to use the coupon, which knocked off shipping. No tax.

These sets I don't mind, even for a good deal, since they give you a wide selection, always like that.

From 2007 too, so that's been around for awhile.

Look at the Fire Truck, that is going on it's 7th year, and is still going strong because it's such an awesome set.

Toys R Us :: Feb 15th - 21st

20% off these new Lego Pirates, Bionicle, and Star Wars Sets:

Item# 088655
089371
089376
105680
159663
159993

Look those up on the TRU website.

One doesn't work.

However the $40 Pirate set would be $35 and the $50 set would be $44.

I went to Walmart to look for the $10 IJ set with the tent. I want a tent and a banana, the set is gone from LEGO S@H. They didn't have it at Walmart, however they had several other $10 sets for a Walmart everyday low of $10.96.

Wow, that's crazy... It just came out a couple of months ago didn't it? I'm glad I picked it up when it was on sale at Target. The banana goes well with the monkey I got from an old pirates set :)

I think I've seen them somewhere though. If I find it, I'll pick it up for you if you want.

edit: just realized it would probably be cheaper for you to get it through ebay since I'd have to ship it...

Hate to break it to you, but the original Pirate LEGO ship had red and white sails. Looks to me like they were going for the original look not one of the later model looks.

But that boat looks nice, the new one looks bad with the red and white and then the skellies on the sails.

I think I can find the IJ set somewhere, yeah shipping would kill it. I want it for $9.99 plus tax and not a penny more. lol

Loot Island, which I may pick up again... 23 x .8 = 18.4 better price
Shipwreck Hideout 43 x .8 = 34.4
Soldiers' Fort 55 x .8 = 44

I don't know if I could spend 44... but the hideout i could see getting if they actually have it in stock. surprise me if they pulled inventory the day before or something stupid.

I like how you marked them at the "real" price. damn TRU

Walmart is sitting on like 6 troll warships that are at 64... org 75 and I'd love to see them hit >50.... but WM NEVER lowers their price... I don't know where they go or if people are actually buying them...

So, after 19 years of wanting it, I finally bought 6399 for $198 on eBay. It's played-with condition of course.

Just a few more classic town sets and I can rest in piece. :)

With the TRU LEGO tax I probably can't justify driving to the other side of town to pick up the Pirate sets. The only deal, IMO, is the Shipwreck Hideout because only TRU and LEGO sell it right now so if you were to buy it from TRU now would be the time. But I'll keep it in the back of my mind if I happen to head out that way.

I hope they bring back the Attack of the Penguin set back. I want that because we have a penguin obsession.
All Power Miner sets 25% off this week at TRU.
Yeah I noticed that too, wish I would have saved the trip for today... would have easily bought up the cheaper sets.

7 = 5.25
9 = 6.75

so about 12 with tax, get the two minor sets, which is not too bad, since if it's a duplicate purchase, can use it to make the uber set that they show.

now the big question is if they have any freaking stock.... grr.
would have easily bought up the cheaper sets.

TRU is being sneaky!

THE SMALLER SETS AREN'T ON SALE!

It's not 25% of ALL Power Miners, it's 25% of the ALL NEW Power Miners. Look closely at the add, the two small sets aren't listed. I really want the $8 set, I want the cheese grater pieces because I have an idea for a black space ship with lime green touches.

The ad says....
Sale $9 to $52.50
Was $12 to $70

That means only the "$10" set to the $70 set are on sale! Bastards! However I do like the $30 set, and the $27 set which would be $22.5 and $20.25, too bad I have no money!

omg... bastids.

well the 30/27

Boulder Blaster
Thunder driller

would be great for less than $45. Which I would totally grab and call it DONE till the newer sets come out.

It's either that or the one from Pirates, the Hideout which is "exclusive".

I'd like to get that one too.

BUT, my TRU really sucks :( I doubt any of these sets will be in stock.

Oh yeah, I normally wait until Target does one of their 20%-25% off a theme sales they normally do. They usually restock before the sale (and get wiped clean) and the prices are lower.

I hate TRU even if they had lower prices and things in stock. Many years ago I bought Perfect Dark from them in the video game section, I went looking for my mom so we could leave. The guard told me I couldn't wonder around the store with what I bought and had to stick it in the front with the service area. That was stupid, they used to have sealed bags so you could wonder around, but they stopped that.

I then walked to TRU in October-November and had a backpack full of cloths ($1.99 sale at Old Navy). I couldn't stick anything else in the bag if I tried, and they sent the squat team after me like my bag was a bomb! So I looked at the LEGOs for about 5 minutes tops and then had to wait in line to get my backpack back for at least another 10 minutes. I was about to jump the counter and take it back by force. Even the people who work there are like "This is stupid" with how things are run. That was actually the last time I think I went to a TRU. A man can't have a backpack, but dirty fat mothers with 18 children can have a huge ass purse? Makes perfect sense! Who is more likely to steal? The over 18 guy, who would get "arrested", or the 5 year olds who wouldn't get in any trouble besides a "Don't steal".

My Shopko has a buy 2 get 1 Free sale on Lego sets Nationwide. I regrettably can't afford as I just bought a bunch of the sets I wanted and already opened them, but its a good deal for anyone interested.
Shopko and nation wide shouldn't be in the same sentence.

The close Shopko to MA is in WI!
Holy crap dude. That is my favorite set that I own. I was quite lucky to get that for Christmas one year.

It was in the Sunday Circular so hopefully till Saturday

Damn you ToysRus and your cocktease of a Lego clearance page...

They have Arkham Asylum listed at $14.98, OOS of course though.

Yeah and they have the big plane for $7, those things are listed for months and months and never really that price, it's just the normal TRU BS.
It was in the Sunday Circular so hopefully till Saturday
Ah thanks!

somehow, we don't get the shopko's ad in the sunday paper...

wonder what their stock is... hmm
