2. Forgot about Fire and Farm. New farm had pigs... wife wants the cows but don't want to spend 90. Lego should do a Cattle trailer like the horse trailer. make a real truck too.

I think classic Pirates is dead and PotC will be talking it's place.

1. Disney ends licenses with Mega Brands

3. Disney announces new Pirates of the Caribbean (PotC: On Stranger Tides) movie, to be released in 2011
4. Lego announces ending current Pirates line, as of the middle of 2010, which (if it had continued into 2010) would definitely have competed with PotC merchandise…

It fits perfectly. You don't just bring back Pirates with all the new pieces like the island and the firing canon and the printed maps just to discontinue it. LEGO also said it will return, I think it will return in the summer of 2011 with the new movie. Then when the Disney license ends maybe they will go back to the old style.

Well the new head mold in the Atlantis Squidman/Squidking could be used as the squid guy from the first few movies.

Plus go back and redo those sets/movies? Unless in PotC4 has a reference to a guy that's dead now, if he's really dead.
 
I have never seen the third movie because the second was so bad, but yes I think they will rehash the first three movies. Toy Story sets in January are based on the first to movies made 12-13 years ago, and then they will have summer sets for the new Toy Story. Or they will make PotC4 sets in the summer of 2011 and then the next summer make some classic sets, and the next summer make more classic sets until PotC5 comes out, or until the license ends.

Another PM set with the hideous new blue taking the place of orange.

someone talk me out of going 60 miles and getting 3 more sets.

I really want another Tower Raid set at least, but I could get one for 25, so paying 31 isn't too much but with the b2g1 free, and the 5 coupon, I could see 31 + 31 -5 = 57 + tax. into something good plus walking out with something of 31 dollar vaule.

just sucks because I can't think of any good sets to get that's close or under.

gah... wish I would have paid more attention to my shopping when I was there.
 
Arghh. I should have checked the thread sooner. TRU having the B2G1. I wanted a few sets, I bet they are all gone now :(

Oh, Fred Meyer is repeating the B2G1 this week from last week.

Edit: yea. TRU still had the 3 sets I wanted in stock.

Missed the 2010 photos, but I can wait. got all the 09 sets I wanted now.

The B2G1's are much lamer than the B1G1 half off sales... much harder to find 3 like prices than 2. I managed to find 6 $20-30 sets to grab today. The one I was at even had some older sets like the troll battle wheel, so I grabbed that.

B2G1 is still a better deal though. About 33% off compared to 25% during the B1G1ho.

I'm fully aware of that, but that percentage takes a hit when you can't find 3 that are the exact same price.

At least there are several $89-99 sets, but the one's I want I already have, and the TRU stores I've been to don't seem to carry the Temple of Doom... sigh.
 
TRU sent me a 10 off 75 coupon... in stores and online.

I'll post the code online but it doesn't work till the 25th, so the last 2 days of the sale.

If anything is left that is... I might order online because that would clear shipping and some tax, but I wonder if I could just run in, it would only be half an hour from work....

Anyways... coupon can be used in store too, and online, but can't be combined with any offer.

I'm going to see if I can try to get the 5 off facebook too.
 
Man, you know you've spent too much on the B2G1 when your receipt says "You saved $315!"... That, and the look on the cashier's face when I handed her the $5 off $50 Lego coupon after unloading two carts of stuff was hilarious...

I "only" saved $180. Yes, that would be an indication you (or I) did spent too much. I have all the sets I want now. Only thing I'm interested in now is the lego exclusives (the modular fire dept). So time to search for lego store deals. Or just wait to see what the VIP is all about.

That doesn't hold true for all sets sold at TRU. All the sets I bought for the B2G1 FREE deal were priced the same as the LEGO store or any other store that sells LEGO, for that matter. I even had a coupon for $10 off $50 when I used my MC. Sweet deal for me!

Different code?! Crazy. well I'll still use it in store, heading there after work. Hopefully the 6 sets I'm looking for are still there.

I wouldn't say I had only 6 days, but mine expired quickly, within 45 days of me receiving it.
 
Damn you b2g1 sale!

Went out today and grabbed 3 $60 sets. The windmill/truck thing, one of the houses, and the big fire truck.

Then went to another TRU and grabbed a yellow beach house, the troll battle wheel, and the siege weapon castle thing that was 30ish. Also 3 of the $5 things. And the train station I got solo since it was oddly clearanced down to $23ish and I couldn't find 2 other in that range I needed.

I just wish I could have found some street plates. Does TRU still carry those?
 
I wish I had more money, because I want the windmill but have no money so I skipped the TRU sale.

However I went to K-Mart (fuck you with your candy cane Christmas area) and bought Power Miners sets 8956 and 8957. They are the first 2009 sets I have bought this year!

8956 was $4, which should be the normal price for that terrible set, and 8957 was $5.60. I was gonig to buy two 8957s but wanted the different minifigures. They are having an extra 20% the clearance toy prices so they are about 30% off the real prices after the K-Mart mark ups.

They also had the weird robot battlepack for $6.xx, some Star Wars ATT ore something for a still overpriced $34, and a few Creator Spiders for $8.80 but I passed on those.

nice... surprising that those were on clearance...

Sadly only the Spider sets were clearanced that I found and I already picked up all of those.

They still have a bulldozer 350ish peice set, but at 32. ... bit too technic for me, alot of yellow and grey too.


Heads up for any Kmarters..... Starting next week they are having $5 off >14.99 sale on all Lego Buildings.

I'm with ya. I wanted to pull the trigger on a TRU deal this week but I just couldn't justify spending more to save more on sets I don't really want. TRU this week has Peril in Peru, Flying Wing, and Jungle Cutter on sale 33% off. Good price for Peru if you couldn't grab the S@H deal.

I got a TRU coupon in the mail...use code 930740 at checkout to get 10.00 off 100.00....exp 10/18/09. Has anyone been able to combine coupon codes online??

I wasn't able to combine the FB $5 that you posted and the 10 off 75 I got.



Anyways back from Kmart.

Picked up that Bulldozer because it was 32 on clearance with a 20% off extra ... so for a little over 25 out the door, then I picked up the Troll catapult and the Gold chase Space Police set, both for 16. Then used my 5 off 50 coupon, same one I linked to above.

Overall saved about 30-35%.
 
Talked to someone at the Lego store about the VIP and stamps. They said that they were going to be able to convert stamps already earned into the new VIP points. But they didn't know how exactly this was going to work or when it starts...they thought in mid October when the VIP starts. He thought it would be a straight up conversion of 25 points for each stamp. This also means you'll lose the extra $10 if you are working on your second gift card on your stamp book. Just a heads up if you are close to the $20 card like myself that you might want to try to get it before the new VIP kicks in or you might lose the bonus $10.

Also the Kmart sale this week doesn't apply to clearanced sets...they still ring up at clearance - 20% but no additional $5 off.

That is fucking bullshit! I have need three more stamps for like 18 months now (I don't go that often, ok almost never) and now they are going to pull this bullshit?! fuck them, I'll never go to the store again, it's not like they ever have anything on sale.

What they should do is if you have the old one then you use the old one up they give you a new mone, problem solved!
 
Got the Concrete Mixer today from S@H. Weird thing is they gave us a free Builder set ($.98 on the site) and my invoice has a credit for $5.01 to make the total $5.47. Checked my credit card and they did infact just charge me $5.47 for the Cement Mixer and a Builder. They've given me mystery credits before on invoices, but not 50%.

Neat little truck, but it's not quite to scale with the rest of our trucks.

FYI, anyone who hasn't picked up the IJ Jungle Cutter at a good price, I saw it on clearance at $35 in Walmart last night. Had a few, will wait to see how low they go.

$5 off a $40 set isn't clearance to me. :lol:

My mom bought one over a year ago for $30, she returned it after she got one for $15. I told her to price match, but she didn't, oh well. :lol:

But yeah, I've seen glaciers move faster than Walmart clearance drops, so who knows when it'll reach anything worthwhile.
 
Well the fact Walmart had them on clearance last year around this time for $30 and then $15, who knows what they are doing this yera. It's the first tiem ever I have seen a set cleared out and then a few months later brought back at full price. :)
 
Heads up for TRU sale from October 4 - 10. 30% off LEGO set. Ad says over 230 sets on sale. From what I can see in the ad, it looks like it covers all themes including Star Wars. I'm sure the newer sets will be excluded.

Also, TRU is celebrating Bricktober and they are giving away an exclusive LEGO brick each week in October with any LEGO purchase. The 4 LEGO bricks can be put together to reveal a Bricktober picture. It's most likely a Duplo brick and I'm guessing a ghost or something, but pretty cool if they're giving it for free.

And.... I know some of you complain about the price of LEGOs at TRU, but not all sets are priced about their MSRP. At least that's the case with my TRU. I think I'm grabbing 7747 Wind Turbine Transport set if it's on sale.

So where is the ad? is it available somewhere?

I'm curious to see if it's on sets only 30 and under, or something, because getting say the Pirate ship for 70 might be tempting....
 
TRU ads come out in the Saturday paper for me. It used to come in the big sunday edition, but they moved it up a day about a year ago.

YMMV for your papers though.

My ad comes with my Saturday paper. Just checked the ad again and the free Duplo brick looks like it will show a skeleton minifig

I doubt the sale is limited to sets $30 and under. The ad shows sets that are above $30.
