Went to my local Lego Store today. Still had some Castle Battle Packs available. Dwarves and Troll packs were about $13 with tax. There was some discussion earlier in the thread, people looking for them. I dunno if that is a good price or not, but if someone is desperate for them, I don't mind working something out.
I'd love to get three of those Dwarf Battle Packs. PM me if you're willing.

I'm really kind of sad that the Castle line is being discontinued. It was the theme that got me into collecting Legos (that and Batman Legos). And the replacement to Castle looks so bland.
It's a good price because they are no longer being made, and are $2 off.

I agree the new Castle line is fine for parts but is horribly boring and frankly I hope it fails. There was no reason why LEGO couldn't just introduce new fractions or "Kingdoms" into the current line.
Home One at TRU this week for $73.69.
Not sure about the other TRUs across the country, but the ones around me have had Home One at that price for the last 2 weeks straight.

An FYI, I believe all the Lego sets at TRU that went up in price before Xmas are going back down in price tomorrow. Everything my store has in stock is receiving a price drop.

TRU lowering their prices?! That will be the day! They are probably just getting ready for a "sale" or something.

Target clearance seems to be up to 50%, at least at my store. Managed to find a PM Mine Mech for $4.00, which was surprising as I hadn't seen any clearance Lego's there since the XMAS clearance first started. They also finally restocked their Lego section, which had been extremely depressing looking before.

I also managed to snag 8199 Security Smash for 25% off at Meijer due to an employee mistagging it, and then I got a $5 off $25 General Merchandise coupon that printed at the register with my receipt (this happens to me on a regular basis lately, I don't know why). So I went back and picked up Constructa-Buzz and a Hot Wheels car for $20.98.

Like most, I haven't seen much clearance. Managed to find a couple Agents 2.0 sets for 50% at Target and Walmart. No chance I'll be finding stuff at 75% off this year, I figure, but I was happy to grab a Robo Attack for cheap.

Most random find, though, was a Knights Kingdom II big figure for $5 (which I didn't buy):
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=8703-1

Normally I'd been thrilled to find a 4-year-old Lego set for less than retail. I just never got into the big figures. And Ben 10 is, well, ...

Speaking of random finds, I found the Exoforce Assault Tiger set at a big lots type store this weekend. I haven't seen any exoforce sets since I started collecting again so that was pretty surprising. It was $12.99 for 163 pieces though, so it seemed way expensive after getting all those other sets for 50% off
Sarcastic deal of the day:

http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-4567620-..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0VP0FFJ4VY193W2X74H9

The page before it said List Price = $9.99, Our Price = $14.99!
Holy Panda Rapage Batman!

I can't believe anyone would buy that... 300% markup.

Assault Tiger is a nice set too. yeah 12.99 isn't the greatest price, but if I seen that, I would have bought it.

Can't help my Anime robot wannbe exo-force.
Saw a lone castle troll warship at my target at half off (making it $45).

Didnt pick it up though...
Must have been leftovers from black friday.

geez that set is old, picked up that for $30 last year at WM.

yeah, a lot of the sets on Amazon are way over MSRP, even the ones fulfilled by Amazon. The few that aren't are the same prices as Lego online store.

I stopped by Wal-Mart to check their clearance sets...and they were all gone! I wish I knew what they did with them because I highly doubt they sold through them all in one weekend.

Does Borders still have Lego in stock post-Christmas? They just e-mailed me a coupon for 33% off any item in the store, good through January 18th. Not as good as the 40% off coupon, but if they've got any of the new 2010 sets, it might be worth it.

The Borders around me have LEGO left from Christmas, but none of them have 2010 sets. That was last week though and that could have changed by today.

Does anyone know if Amazon was actually selling the Imperial Flagship or if the just added it to the site? Because I've been checking them out on nearly day to day basis and just noticed it today, but it's all ready "temporarily out of stock."

Despite the retail price it's still a total of $30 savings or so from the tax an shipping that Lego S@H charges.

The Stonebrunt Highlands

The second of the two overland zones in Sentinel’s Fate is the Stonebrunt Highlands. This zone will be ideal for adventurers from level 85-90. There will be much to explore in the Highlands and the quests will reveal long buried mysteries about the inhabitants.
Places of Note:
Moonfield Hamlet – This is the starting area in Stonebrunt Highlands. Visiting with the townfolk here will introduce newcomers to the area and give them hints about where to explore.

well I thought the Flagship was only going to be a Shop @ Home item... didn't think any other retailer was going to bite on it.

Amazon is probably going to carry a limited supply of these. Best to order if you're interested, as they will make an effort to fulfill it. If they aren't able to secure any stock, they won't charge you anything.

I noticed the Tie Fighter was going in and out of order status, too.

Sweet! New modular city building posted on Eurobricks. Image quality is bad, but the set looks like a nice addition (and it's another corner building!).

:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

Well, now I know what I'm getting for Christmas 2012. ;)

I don't buy those because they cost more than I spend on all LEGO in a year, but damn that's nice. What piece is that dark green piece over the windows?

it almost looks like there are studs on top too. I don't think I've ever seen a peice in any other set.

Wow, I'm going to have to get that as soon as they announce it's going out of production :) Hopefully by then there will be a good deal on it.

Has anybody filled up their holiday pick a brick box yet? I want to see how much you can fit in it. I'm also going to have to go visit the 3 stores in the area to see which one has the best selection :)

I'm jealous... if you do fill it up to the brim, take some pics and post, please.

Sounds good. I was going to take pics last year, but then I got home, poured it out and forgot.

Nope. Saving it for a rainy day. I've never used a pick a brick box before. Any tips for maximizing value?

Go to the minifig building kiosk and fill it with those pieces. Then Ebay.:hot:

I doubt they would let you do that, though I remember that one auction with 500 minifigure heads

edit: found a way to maximize your holiday box on flickr. I guess this only works if you don't want any specialty pieces though.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/brickjournal/

1). Build a 10x10 block six or seven bricks high.
2). build two 1x10 blocks six or seven bricks high. Slide them into the two slots that the 10x10 block created.
3).Fill in the remaining holes in the top by closing one half of the lid, and sliding bricks in. Then, close box.

Given the level of activity in this thread, there's probably more than enough interest to start a site called Cheap Ass Studs.

Someone talked about that a while ago in this thread, although I think he was going to name it CheapAssBricks. I'm sure it's one of the regulars. Who was it?

I got a ton of 2x2 dark red bricks by just packing the box, and then I got 3 big blue roof pieces that I have seemed to lost.
LOL I kinda like this thread though... one long read. I think we should stick to this thread.
True :) Maybe we can use the group for sale/trade or requests. That way we don't have to go back to see what people are looking for.

I am going to agree that I love the chaos of this thread (it's deals, it's trades, it's pics of coming sets!!!!) but I can see the appeal of a more organized trade/requests forum.
On a different note I suppose I should fill my normal role here and say that Fred Meyer has started their after Christmas toy clearance. LEGOs were slim pickings though, there was a truck in like a hockey puck-like package (not sure what this is called and I had no interest) and the Power Miners Stone Chopper 8956 for ~2.75 each. Picked up the Power Miners set but was mostly disappointed that there was nowhere near as much as last year. Selection at FM is highly YMMV though so others might have better luck, I did notice they were out of the Temple of Doom, so maybe that one... I am probably going to check out other stores later this week.

I like having one long thread as opposed to navigating a bunch of different threads. Lego store shipped my sharkman keychain already, but my X-Wing isn't slated until next month... :/

lol, it'll ship in a HUGE box, and be the only item in there.

Lego Madness story:

I went to kmart and searched and found what I thought was the Skeleton Prison Carriage for 20, plus shipping and tax is still under what ebay was getting at. I wanted that set but couldn't find it anymore :(

Anyways come today, I get the box and guess what, it's the King's Chairot set... WTF.

So I'm going to storm Kmart soon and damn all my money back.

Sucks because the site states the skeleton, still there, but they took the item page down. My packing list states skeleton too. But my invoice in the box doesn't and definately didn't get the item.

Ah well...

Nice! I love buildings!

As far as the PAB Holiday Box. I filled mine right after new years with mostly basics bricks and small specialty parts on top.

ah nevermind....

Anyways, the golden guardian is complete.

Wish it was really "gold" and not sticker gold.

Eurobricks has better pictures of the new $150 set, it's nice, it's almost nice enough to get me into trying to buy some of the series.

Well at least this time I don't have to defend my interest in the latest modular unit ... it's actually really cool looking and I'll probably be adding it to my green grocer set ... too bad firehouse, I guess you were just cool by association and won't be coming home with me unless I find you heavily discounted someday.

i like the thread too, man. it has more exposure than the group. the group would be easier to navigate, tho

The lego Atlantis cartoon/show is on tomorrow (Friday) night at 7:00 pm on the Cartoon Network. It's only 30 minutes.

Will the characters talk? Or will it be like the video games? We'll see tomorrow.
