BEST NEWS EVER!

WB is making a LEGO movie.

Does that mean LEGO will have a new theme based on the movie based on the LEGOs?
Will you still be excited when they announce that Eddie Murphy will be starring in it?:)

I don't quite see how a lego movie would be any good. What would it be based on? Space Police? Agents? That is the stuff that would lend itself most obviously to being a movie, and honestly I think that sounds terrible.

I think it will be a real movie and that the LEGOs come alive and interact with the kids in the house. However the parents most likely don't see the toys talking so they blame everything on the children.

No.

Toy Story wasn't close to being the first movie where toys come to life. Also the LEGO movie will mix CGI and live action, so it's more like the movie "Toys".

No.

it's so going to fail.. :(

Maybe it will be like one of those typical bad 80's movies where the loner kid is sucked into the world of LEGOs after playing with them late one night after getting into a huge fight with his parents (combined with some freak electrical storm or other lame plot device) and then must find a way home from a whimsical LEGO world, all while gaining confidence in himself and learning valuable life lessons from talking plastic LEGO people along the way.

Oh and then at the very end, he can be back in the real world and ride a giant flying LEGO dog/dragon thing and scare the bullies that were intimidating him at the beginning of the film.

That's a possibility too!

So either the toys come to life, or he is sucked into the toys world, it has to be some lame ass old plot.

Kmart had some drops as they made room for some new sets.

Saw couple of new power miners, the big green guy with the buzzsaws, and the Crystal king.

Castle had the Drawbridge set now.

Agent 2.0 had the Heist and the second up set from that.

All the new Indy sets were there... surprisingly.

And I think only 2 new SW sets... one was Home base... it was only 20, but had that stupid animal in it.

As for the drops.

Creator spider sets were $10. I picked up one. 3 left, opted to pick up more.

Then the large ... City bulldozer? it was large. that was only 35

Found a few of the motorized car sets for 8

And like one Castle Tower, and one Start wars set, still pretty pricey. I think they were 35 too.

seems like most of them only dropped around 15%. Doubt they will continue. I'll probably head back for those other Creator sets.

Kmart price drops or clearance pricing. If its clearance pricing then we just have to wait for one of those additional xx% off clearance prices sales.

They'll never last that long. I'm sure someone will snatch them up.

But I did use that Transformers 5 off toys over 20 coupon. Thinking since the spider sets are directly 10 even, I can get 2 and have it almost near half price on both.

Should have went back as I was leaving but I only had 1 coupon.
Wasn't the spider set only $13 anyways? The City Bulldozer is $40, so the savings are like 12% lol.
yeah, 12%... lame... that's like a sale.

Was just plan clearance, with the yellow stickers.

Kmart just jumbled their entire stock and changed everything around, annoying.

I saw IJ Flying Wing set for $40? and SW Magnaguard Fighter for $32? at Kmart today. I don't remember the prices exactly.

Also saw some more sets clearanced at another Walmart including the SW AT-TE Walker for $60 something and more Power Miners...those big Power Miner sets all look the same so I really don't remember which I saw, only that it was over $50. But I will pick one up if they get low enough.

I just read Target's ad that starts 8/16 since I get it early. LEGO #7748 - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid for $19.99 (normally $24.99) plus other LEGO Star Wars sets on sale. Ad doesn't specify which other sets those may be.

So my local Kmart moved the legos to a different aisle, and along with some of the new sets, I found 3 Castle Skeleton's Prison Carriages from 2007 mixed in with the Troll-pulling-cart-eating-turkey-leg sets. After the Transformers coupon and with Tax, it was only 17.03 for one. Left the other 2 on the shelf for another lucky Lego fan. I feel like I've jumped into a Lego time machine between this and the exoforce set I found at Target a few weeks back.

Oh yeah, and I was also excited to find out that the Walmart near my work had put out placeholders for most of the new Creator sets. Good to know there's another B&M option for these sets other than TRU and the lego store. I had a bad feeling that sets like Family Home would be an online only set for most retailers.

yeah kmart has been holding and trying to sell every set. not clearencing them.

it's painful.

well anyways... I'm hoping to get at least a few more $10 creator sets if they are there, and maybe I can snag that castle tower defense set. I could use another one.

That's an awesome set, one of the best ever in the City line. If I was near a LEGO Store, and it wasn't already sold out, I would buy 2 more. :)

Sorry for thread jacking. Got a few early 90's Lego sets in my tradelist, figured you guys would appreciate them more then the rest of CAG. Feel free to offer :)
Damn...I feel your pain. My son had the lego browser up all day yesterday, but I didn't check it....AUGH! And it's 17.99 at TRU...sheesh.

Anyways, dh got an email from TRU with random stuff on sale:

http://www.toysrus.com/search/index...Toys&EDID=NIX41P-Z8S95-24O3MA-06W2CY-AEMX5-v1
thanks for the links... I like how all the prices are enormously outrageously overpriced...

Are these advertisements in store too?

180husher...do you know when Walmart drops it's prices for the 2nd time around, after the first drop?? 2 weeks after the 1st drop?? 3 weeks??

More like 2 to 3 months. It's no where near as organized and timely as Targets. Matter of fact, the last Lego clearance at Walmart was the first time most of us all reported seeing pretty much the same drops at the same times. My local Walmart reorganized their Lego shelf and all the clearance sets vanished. Now I have to hunt through the store to find where they set up a temporary clearance shelf.

yep, that last clearance was like a miracle... caught it of the day it dropped.

I still have most of those sets still in box too.

My walmart did the same thing, re-org and all the sets I was looking for gone. I looked all over too so I don't think they left them out for people to buy.

Wow...2-3 months. lol. i thought it was 2-3 weeks. :) hehehehe. Alright, well, I doubt anything will be left by then over here. Thanks for the answer though.
Kmart is a time machine store...mine still has Playstation 1 games.
LOL. There is a Walmart near me that still has Disney's Treasure Planet for the PS1.

Its like when Circuit had Twilight Princess @ full price all the way up until they liquidated.

Noticed this in my local store notes, and saw it showing up all store notes on the S@H site:

Save $30 off Green Grocer, September 4 – 16 only!
Add the Green Grocer to your LEGO neighborhood! Visit the LEGO Store between September 4 and September 16 and get $30 off Green Grocer. Item 10185. Cannot be combined with any other offers.

They held a Lego convention here in the DC area called Brickfair '09 and I took the kids. They had fun looking at the MOC's and playing in the "free play" room = a room with a big pile of bricks that the kids could play with. I'll try to post a picture or two...one guy built a 20 foot crane!

The vendor section was a freakin' madhouse. Kids grabbing and buying any minifigs they could afford. You could barely walk through it.

The Brickforge guys were there with their "Halo", elves, and gladiator minifig equipment. They also had a company that sells LED circuits for Lego sets so you can add lights to ships, houses, etc..

They also had a guy who can print graphics directly onto to Lego pieces and even minifig's. His work actually looks good and is reasonably priced...about $3 to print any graphic onto a minifig torso. I think I might try to get some Star Trek minifigs made!

If you guys are interested I can post their websites for you to check out.

One more thing, the Walmart clearance Legos that vanished at my store two weeks ago when they redid the shelves still have not shown up yet and I looked all over the store. I may have to ask somebody in the toy department about them...like they'll know!?!

Green Grocer retails for what? 200?

would be awesome to go to Brickcon.

And I did stuble onto that ink screen site, I think you can only do white bricks though?

Yep, still haven't found those lego sets either....
Its $150. So $120 after this discount. Man that is tempting.
would be nice to have a lego shop nearby... :(

Walmart, Kmart & Target make up the three corners of a LEGO Bermuda Triangle. Sets will disappear off of the shelves (often without ever having been clearanced). Sometimes those sets re-emerge weeks, months or even years later!

Here are a few recent examples...

About a month ago, one Walmart put two Aquaraiders sets out (not on clearance). They did clearance them down about 50% within about two weeks. Some older Spongebob sets, a few Creator mini trains have also appeared within the last two months (at different times).

On Sunday, at another Walmart they must have done inventory and the following sets all re-appeared: Bioncle set from 2006, Police Pontoon Plane, Troll Warships, Dwarves' Mines, Axalara T9s and several Agents sets. All were in varying stages of clearance.

That same day, a Kmart had a few Mars Mission sets.

Yesterday, I went to Target...and found a Creator Sub from 2005 just sitting on the shelf. I scanned a few UPCs of some sets I was looking for and found they had been removed from the system completely, but the Sub was in there for full price!

It gets stranger and stranger all the time.

Actually, Twilight Princess rang up at $8.98 (GC) before the liquidation. Circuit City was one of those stores that just because it was priced original retail does not mean that it was. Seldom, if ever, did many stores change prices on games when they were clearanced or marked down.

Now back to your regular programming.

Sad that there's no LEGO store near me.

Ya'll have one in Discover Mills Mall...how far are you from Lawrenceville? I've got family in Atlanta so I've been to that store a couple of times. It has outlet pricing so some times you can find good deals there.

His is closer than any of ours... I'd either have to go to Chicago or Mall of america and either way is about a 4 hour drive :(

Throwing out a question....

What does everyone do with their instruction booklets?

I thought I would page protector them and bind them up but that's not really working as planed, so then I thought about a file case, with hanging folders but then some of the older booklets are a tad longer than 11" so the page protector won't work.

Ideas?
