Target put the minifigs in the system this week:

DCPI 204-00-0346 $1.99

None out yet and none in the stockroom, but they should be getting them in with the new sets.

Also Kmart has them in their system also for $1.99.

With all the negativity surrounding the minifigures I figured that I would take a moment to thank you for telling me about KMarts toy clearance. I still had a 20% off entire toy purchase coupon from the Burger King Iron Man kids meal and it includes clearance items!

I swung by the Cranston RI store and picked up City Tow Truck #7638 for $3.00, Racers #8124 for $3.60, Racers #8196 for $3.60 and Bionicle #8975 for $1.40. Thanks for the heads up! :applause:
Also, Ran past a Kmart today after work. They had all clearance toys an additional 50% off. Picked up a few racers sets for $6, and a few Tow trucks for $5 each, I also noticed some Bionicles, but after the TRU.com sale/glitch, I don't think I need any more bionicles :)
Ugh, I think I remember reading something about that, but since I never go to fast food anymore (I didn't get fat for no reason!) I missed that one :( Good scores, though, it seems that the Tow Truck, Bionicles, and the racers boxed playsets are the toys they're clearing out. I was very pleased when we opened up the Racers set we bought last night, I hadn't seen one of those sets opened yet, and allthough the bit of road they give you is pretty small, it's pretty nice (Except for all the GD stickers :( ).
I'm pretty sure they are too, I thought I read/heard something about a case having 3.
I think you are confusing the number of how many complete sets are in a box and how many boxes are in a case.

So each case has two boxes of minifigures and each box of minifigures has 3 complete sets of figures. So a case would include 6 complete sets of figures.

Anyone know of the best way to amass a collection of basic legos (color bricks and plates of various sizes etc.)? The lots on ebay all seem to be from the same couple of power sellers and not from actual people trying to offload a collection. On the same note, anyone looking to sell such a thing?

I'm in the process of trying to do the same. (Page back and you'll see my query from a week or so ago.)

What I'm finding is that Craigslist is probably how it will be done on the cheap. I've stopped off to see a few collections after work in the past week, and neither was satisfactory. Both were dirty, one was riddled with knock-offs, and while the other was decent, the seller absolutely would not budge on the price. (He wanted $50 for roughly 2 or 3 lbs of LEGO -- waaaay over my upper bound of $5/lb.)

I'm just going to keep waiting it out, keep looking for sales where I can get them and hope to strike it lucky on CL in the meantime. Good luck to you!

I've picked up quite a few lots locally off of craigslist, and yeah, you can get pretty lucky. I picked up a lot worth over $500 MSRP for a tenth of the price a few months ago, and the collection was mainly a bunch of sets (98-99% complete for all the kits).

If you can, keep CL open during the day, search regularly, and check the Toys & Games section.

Eventually, someone will post some, and if you can be on the ball, you might get a good lot :)

Just try not to pay an arm and a leg for lego without figs, and try not to pay more then $4-8 per pound (depending on content, and how bad you want it, of course) people tend to sell certain series for more, i.e. SW, western, and larger "vintage" 80-90's series.

I try to stick to $5/lb as a general rule for used lego (and btw, 1 gallon is approx 3 lbs).

Yea, be careful though as some of those CL people seem to have overestimated the value of their legos. I swear the high altitude is messing with people's heads or something with some of the prices.

I also didn't realize people having such a tough time getting the minifigs. When I first learned over at Eurobricks that TRU in America had them, I was over there in a couple of days and had a full box to pick over. I missed two (Zombie and Indian) because my hands were full, I was tired of hunting as is and I had somewhere to be in a couple of hours. Watch me go back there and they'll be sold out, haha. I wish everyone luck because they're pretty cool and I can't wait for the next few series.

We go out every Saturday to Yard Sales in the hunt for cheap legos. Last Saturday we stopped at a yard sale where I picked up 8 lbs of misc legos and a Mindstorms 2.0 boxed complete set for $40. The kid selling them said he got a ton of emails from dealers due to his listing on CL but they only wanted boxed sets, no loose bricks.

The yard sale after that I picked up a new sealed Harry Potter boxed set for $3, sells on Ebay for over $100 used so the wife has been putting the prerssure on me to sell, lol. He had five new sets that dealers scopped up by showing up at his yard sale TWO HOURS before it was started, lol. He had just foiund that set in the trunk so we lucked out there.

Sounds crazy. Did the yard sale listing specifically mention legos? I went out hunting last week with my girlfriend using newspaper listings, but it seems like we had to hit ones that said 'toys' and hope for the best. Did manage to find a london bus from the 1970s for $1, but no one else had legos unfortunately.

Patience is a virtue with CL. I remember seeing someone post an ad for Brick Beard's Bounty but the temporary CL email already expired due to age. Low and behold two weeks later the ad gets reposted and I ended up getting the set, brand new still sealed, for $50. The same guy was selling a couple of other sets in the $100-$120 price range for half off and now I regret not buying them since I did have to drive out 30 miles.

He still occasionally puts up new sets if anyone is interested and lives around the Chicago area. He's pretty much the only guy on the Chicago CL that puts up sealed sets and doesn't try to charge the MSRP or more.

We are like generals planning an invasion, we check CL, put all the interesting ones into Google Maps and then adjust to lay them out the best way! :D Not a lot of yard sales are listed in the newspaper anymore.

The yard sales did list Legos in their listings but some of my best finds are just stopping at unlisted ones along the way. Today was horrible (damn holiday weekend) but I did manage to get a pound of misc lego pieces (and four complete mini figures), a pound of bionicle guys along with a ton of action figures for my son for $3.

Unfortunantly a lot of Mega Bloks snuck in there. I now have a pound of those damn things in a box, no idea what I will do with them. :twoguns:

We opened our first minifigure tonight. We opened a robot! He is very nice. I used a cheat sheet to see which one I was opening and it was right.

I can't seem to find any yard sale listings on cl, are they under events? There's a decent amount on my local papers website though. Maybe it's a geographical thing.

The robot is really cool one of my favorite figs, I just wish he came with some sort of accessory.

That is a good idea I just wish it came with something unique like the rest of the figures, like maybe an oil can or something.

BTW does anybody have the DPCI number from Target for the lego atlantis octopus 30040

http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=30040-1

That would be a lot of help for me in finding it before I'm subjected to the slums of ebay.

I hit TRU today and saw that all of the KINGDOMS impulse sets (Wizard/Jester) as well as the PIG FARMER set were cleaned out. They had stocked a fair amount of them last week when the collectable figs hit shelves. Glad I got mine when I did. The shelves were still packed with Atlantis and older City impulse boxes. I wonder if the KINGDOMS ones were limited (I was surprised to see them, nobody expected them to pop up in the US.)

Helloooo white boba fett

The source of the photo and review was quoted as saying these will be given away (ala chrome storm trooper, not Chrome Vader pack-in) with purchase of the new Slave 1 set. He doesn't specify if this will be exclusively in Europe or worldwide, nor does he say if it's connected to any particular retailer ... but damn I will be hunting this sucker down in June.

BTW ... just throwing this out there ... but I've got a sealed Cheerleader ready to go for the 1st person who wants to trade one of these with me ;)

The Kingdoms impluse sets are a regular release just like all the other LEGO impulse sets. They are definitely not limited and they're just selling out now because they were just released and retailers are barely beginning to receive their orders.

Hi guys. Not sure if anyone would be able to help me out, but I am looking to get 1 each of the Zombie, Nurse, Ninja, and Robot. If anyone ended up with some extra figures I would love to work something out with it. I have the crash test dummie and the skater, I also have access to the impuls atlantis squid for trade. May be able to scare up some more things. I just dont want to go the eBay route. Thanks in advance (oh and if posting this request is not cool, please dont flame me, I will just edit it)

I saw a bunch of them at one by me last week and they were already jacked up to the inflated $4.50 price.

My mom went to a flea market or tag sale and got a bunch of LEGOs for $5. It is mostly a soccer field and random bricks so far, but 25+ minifigures, a pull back motor, a big strange red window I have never seen before, a slightly broken green baseplate, a divers dome, a red 14x4 base for a car that has 6 places for wheels, also never seen it before. There is also a grey brick separater.

Kick ass! There is an Ice Planet torso!

We opened an astronaut last night as well, my son loves these. He is asking for another and is currently reading his 200+ page book in order to get his next one to open.
I saw many of these in TRU some were on pegs and some were in the display boxes on the shelf.

Yeah, I picked one of those in black up at a yard sale in the free bin last summer, with the trailer that goes with it.

I love it :D

Here's a link to the part, if you'd like to see if you might have one of the 2 kits it comes in (FYI, it's from a Jack Stone kit)
^ Yep that's it, thanks. I have some Jack Stone pieces that are just horrible and two figures... but I think I already lost one, oh well! lol

I have this set....

Not all the pieces but I thought that ladder was a MegaBlok piece! eww!
Damn, that was a dark time for LEGO ;)

Piecing together sets is such a pain :( I've been piecing sets together for the last few weeks, had a bunch of 90's sets I finished with last week, and now I'm working on a box of Exo-Force/creator and it's such a completely different world. Being out of lego's for as long as I was, I'm starting to realize that my knowledge of current building techniques is outdated, because the variety of pieces is just crazy (comparatively speaking).

Is there any difference between Entertainment Earth's "Display Box" of 60 Minifugures and BigBadToyShop's "Case" of 60? Has anybody ordered from either place and do you expect at least 1 or 2 complete sets?

(Sorry if this has been asked before)

I know a bigger PITA, dusting Legos. It takes about two hours to safely dust all the completed sets in my kids' rooms that they have displayed on their shelves. My wife accidentally knocked over the General Grievious model in my son's room last week and I wasn't upset because I hated dusting that SOB.

No, they should be the same thing. The box/case the figs come in has a lid that props up turning the box into a sort of display case just like a baseball card box. The box top is sealed by two one inch clear, circular stickers that are easy to remove and reapply. I would avoid buying cases on Ebay as someone could easily sort through a box or two, remove the keepers, and then repack a box with divers and crash dummies. A box has 3 complete sets.

Thanks...I just might go the Entertainment Earth route if I continue to strike out at TRU this week.

If your TRU doesn't have the minifigures then someone cleaned them all out, and according to prim4444 starting today the price of the figures will go up to $2.49 at TRU.

Also, has anyone tried moving the minifigure from side to side using it's head while it's securely attached to the base plate? I noticed that they seem to twist quite a lot yet when I tried doing the same with regular minifigures they wouldn't budge. I guess the "Made in China" quality is showing.

My TRU has yet to get them. They show up at the DC, but they haven't got their shipment yet.

My TRU quad-sucks hard.

I've called every day they had anything coming in, Tues/Thurs, and still nothing. So if they did get them, and they are sold out, it was an inside job!

All the new Summer 2010 sets are now up on S@H (nothing new in Clearance though) the minifigs are there limit five per customer! No sign of the Kingdoms impulse sets. Anyone know why the Grand Emporium is back-ordered to september?

If there's anyone in AZ interested, the Chandler LEGO store has the minifgs in stock again, though they were going fast. They may already be gone again. They're still limited to 5 a day. I lucked out today by helping a mom with her two kids, and she was willing to include the 6th and last figure I needed with her purchase for me, so I finally have my complete set!

Yeah, I took the kids to the Lego store tonight for the free minibuild (the worst ever) and they had the minifigs for sale with a limit of 5. The assistant manager helped people look at the barcodes to ensure they wouldn't get duplicates but not to snag the ones they wanted. They went through two boxes in half an hour, given it was already crowded from the free build.

I can confirm the $2.49 price for the minifigs at TRU today too.

Way to tease cassidyarch...no new SW sets yet.

You get a selection of five of S@H's finest divers & dummies ;) ... seriously tho ... the similarity between the dummy barcode and zombie barcode is driving me nuts, especially in the chaos of a LEGO store

Picked this up at the LEGO store tonight ... I really like the Mechwarrior type vibe from it ... and also the fact it transforms ... is that a first for LEGO? Have there been any transforming robots in the past?

Damn, how much?

one other Atlantis set moves, and a Space Police vehicle transforms....

There was a Mars Mission that went from rover to plane....

This might... might be the first Robot to vehicle though.

Alpha Team had a few transformers, sled into walker-mech, sled into chopper, not exactly robots... I like the look of that Atlantis mech though.

Do you think we'll see more out of Atlantis and Space Police? I'd like another wave, both lines seem to be getting better and better.

"Divers and Dummies" should be the theme name, instead of "Collectable Minifigs."

$39.99 ... a bit steep for a 364 piece set, but I think it's my favorite creature + vehicle set that's come out so far in the Atlantis line. It's also worth noting that the set is a "Special Edition" so it's not going to have wide distribution outside of the LEGO store and one other major retailer ... not sure if that will be TRU, as it normally is, or perhaps Target since it's not showing up on the TRU website?

Minifigures are flying off the shelves at the LEGO stores btw ... they were just put out today and had approximately 600 figures that came in several much larger boxes than other retailers are receiving. Evidently by the time I swung by around 6 pm this evening, they had put out their very last box and had maybe 100-150 bags out ... and this was with the 5 figures per person limit.

Needless to say, I didn't wade through the sea of people fondling the bags ... god only knows what might have happened if I'd busted out my printed barcode sheet ... suffice to say, I didn't care to find out ...

Did you see the Atlantis base set? That one transforms too! Not as cool as the one you got though.

Anyone know where else the minifigs are going to be stocked besides TRU and Lego? I thought I saw Target mentioned a few pages back. WM or Borders would be great; I've got $25-50 in giftcards for both places that I'm never going to use.
Did you see the Atlantis base set? That one transforms too! Not as cool as the one you got though.
I did, it's pretty cool but there's not much of an interior to it, even though it does transform. I noticed that TRU carries that, as well as the new Shark Base ... so hopefully those should be easier to find. I was kind of surprised by the set I picked up tonight because it was my first time seeing it.

I'm really liking the latest wave of Atlantis sets, I think they're an improvement over the first series. I also think Power Miners have improved ... actually even the latest Space Police sets are cooler than the first few ... if only I had the space and money to buy more of these.

I'm still holding out for the Space Shuttle and new Star Wars sets ... hopefully those will show up in the next couple weeks!

Ugh, that would be my luck getting nothing but divers and dummies.

So many fucking Lego sets I'd like to get this summer, but no way I can get them all. :(
