You realize when they talk about an "old guy" they are talking about us--adult collectors.
No, this was really an old guy. Like 50s-60s-70s grandfather type. The clerk pointed him out to me in the store and he was going through packs with his grandson.

I'm an AFOL, but I'm not that old yeesh.

Ah! Imperial Flagship! I sold a Jango and a Watto to pay for mine, and I'd do it again! Great set!

I'm 30, but I get the "Old Guy" treatment from cashiers and parents in the LEGO aisle.

I got that when I was like 15, screw them!

How do they know you don't have kids or it's a gift?
Jango and Watto for ~139? Craziness.
Cloud city Jango?
I believe it's this one. http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7153-1

I've been wanting that set for some time but it sells for so much now!!! I never knew Watto sold for that much, especially since all those SW mini-figures from that time look like crap!!! I only started collecting the ones going back as far as 2005.
I'm an in between old guy 29!

Check out my new toy
Paid $139 for it  plus tax :bomb:
Where was it that cheap? Does that say CostCo on the sticker?

I forgot to post didn't I, I purchased it at the Lego Store@Ontario Mills Mall. They usually have there stuff marked at 30% off but this one was at 20%. Yesterday as of 4pm PST, they had a Fire Brigade@10%off, the Atlantis set with the stargate@30%off, World Racers 8864@30%off, Imperial Flagship@20%off. Duplo TS Alien Space Crane@30%off.

There were other sets I just can't remember what percentage they had off. I remember seeing some Power Miner sets, Creator and a few other Duplo sets. I wish I would have gone there Saturday might have had a bigger selection but the sale should still be going on today.

Isn't that LEGO Store an outlet? I'm pretty sure it is, so that's probably why you have the "sales".

I kind of regret buying my Imperial Flagship so soon. I bought it just after Amazon stocked it, which was two or three months ago, and still haven't even opened the box.

I guess that's what I get for hurrying. Still looks like a great set. Maybe once I finally put it together the $180 price tag will be justified.

You shouldn't regret it, this is the first time in a long time I've seen that set in any Lego Store around me. I've seen them on Amazon too and have held off on it which I'm glad I did. I don't know how much longer that set will be in production but I'm sure it will be hard to find soon. I can't wait till the 10155 Maersk Line comes out later on this year.

And yes bigdaddy, it is an outlet store.

When I buy LEGOs or Star Wars, all the cashiers think I'm trying to resell them on eBay or trying to make a profit somehow. I'm 32 so I'm old enough to have a kid, but they never think that. I don't want a kid and my ex-gf thinks it shows (not sure how). She laughed today when the cashier asked if I was going to sell two Wedge's X-Wing on eBay and I said, "no-no-no." I don't think I could have convinced him that it was for my private collection. I really didn't want to advertise it either. Not like I want people to come over and see it.

There was a hot girl that walked by and said, "That's a lot of Star Wars." I didn't know what to say so I just smiled and laughed and my ex got mad. She'd be allowed to view my collection, but it's really just boxed up because I'm not going to display them until I get another house.

I have one question. Why are you buying legos with your ex-gf present? You know the "ex" part means you don't have to hang out with her, right?

She's still a sugar mama;)

Target had one of the Lego racers sets at 50% off. It was a yellow case, but I forgot to get the set number, sorry. It was $7.48 and they had a ton of them left.

Medieval Market Village is in stock through Amazon. Winter Toy Shop was available briefly but it also had a "more on the way" tag on it before it sold out. Re-issue perhaps?

I picked up Medieval because i've been waiting for it forever. Thought about Toy Shop but I'm hoping Amazon will get Shuttle Adventure in so I can use my credit on that instead.

There are rumours that LEGO is going to rerelease it come October to more places than the first run. Then the second one in the series, a bakery is supposed to be released.

Hi,
Can someone please post the Target DPCI # for the LEGO 7195 Indiana Jones Ambush in Cairo set? I can't find it through a Google search. Also the 7196 Chauchilla Cemetary Battle DPCI? I have found Temple of Doom on clearance at one store and I want to call around to other stores with those 2 DPCIs to see if they have those IJ sets on clearance as well. TOD DPCI is 204-00-0258 if anyone needs it. Thanks! :)

Why not just say yes to the eBay question? Who cares -- the clerks are just making small talk to pass the time; they don't care what the answer is. In small talk situations with strangers I don't care about, I usually just say yes to everything. People like it when you say yes and are usually just trying to hear themselves talk anyway.

I'll try and do a search for it tomorrow at work. No promises though as sometimes when items go clearance they won't show up in item search anymore.

Has anyone seen Temple of Doom for less than $63 at Target? I think my local stores have been wiped out, wondering if I should just be happy at that price or try returning and rebuying the next morning.

Latest info from EE on series 2 minis
Thank you for your e-mail. Due to the overwhelming popularity of Series 1, it appears that LEGO is not going to release information about Series 2 to us or allow us to start taking preorders for the next installment until we are closer to the actual delivery date. This is rumored to be in the August/September timeline. As soon as we have been sent the press release we will post the item online to allow perorders to start. Your best bet is to visit your online account and create a LEGO e-mail reminder. This way we will send you an e-mail as soon as LEGO makes an announcement to us. Sorry that we cannot assist more so in this matter.

Thanks, but its okay. I realized I haven't seen Chauchilla at Target in a LONG time anyway. For the Cairo set, I called a store today and had them look up the set by name instead of DPCI. There were none in stock at any of the 10 plus stores in my vicinity. All stores still had it listed at 10.99 (retail), except the store where I found the clearanced $63 TOD at - they said the price was listed at $3.83 in their system - odd because that is not a normal clearance price for Target. Regardless, they probably sold out at Targets before the clearance hit, since it sold out at S@H a while ago. As we all know, whenever a set disappears from S@H, it doesn't take long for it to disappear everywhere else, except from the overpriced TRU stores.
BTW, in case anyone needs it for a Target search, the DPCI for Ambush In Cairo is: 204-00-0262

Its a neat little set if you can still find it, and its the only set with the Cairo Thug and Swordsman and Cairo outfit Marion, plus it includes nice parts like a tommy gun, a golden plate, green apples, and a tan "basket"(barrel). Too bad they didn't include the Monkeyman and his motorcycle and monkey - actually that would have made an awesome small impulse set.

ah boo.

More than likely they'll put it up right at Sept 1st. just a day late of their free shipping coupon.

Anyone interested in trading me a sealed tribal hunter (*cough*indian*cough*) for another minifigure? Just PM me, I have a few minifigure options (Robots, Spacemen, Cheerleaders) to trade from, or I can hook you up with an Atlantis octopus

Well I bought a lot of older Lego and included with some city sets was a bunch of old gray castle walls (At least thirty). Many plain old gray but about 6 printed ones too. I dunno whether to sell them (Making buildings is a weak point of mine) or keep them. Alas.

Dude - lets wheel and deal - I got a few of these things if you have a few things for me.

*I only subscribed today - but I will ship your Tribal Indian first (that way there is no bs).

The Madison, TN toysrus had several of the 88.98 sets(star wars) on the shelf and then an extra 25% off from that. I was in a hurry when I went thru so I only IDed the Battle of endor set as one of them. That toys rus has 2 real aisles full of Legos unlike the Bham store.

So you're saying Battle of Endor is only about $66 at ToysRUs? I wonder if this is YMMV?

EntertainmentEarth is giving away a free Mini Jedi Starfighter with a $30 Lego purchase. It appears to be the same one that was released several years ago. You're probably better off just buying it off of brickset or ebay, however, due to EE's overpricing/high shipping costs.

My Target keeps adding items to its clearance throughout the week. Today I found the following Prince of Persia sets:
7569 Desert Attack $7.xx
7560 Ostrich Race $13.xx
7571 Fight For the Dagger $20.xx
I picked up 2 of each. Didn't want to risk them selling out by waiting for the 50% off. 30% off is still pretty good for these cool sets. I scanned the Alamut and Quest sets, but they are still full price. I also saw a pink brick bucket for $10.xx and bought two 7748 SW Corporate Alliance Tank Droids for $17.xx, all which were previously full price on Monday. I'm still holding out for the 50% on some larger items - hopefully they will last through the weekend. It seems during the week not too many shoppers had noticed that the LEGO clearance had started (about the same number of sets from Monday are still there today).
They will definitely be given out at LEGO conventions and most likely Comic Con ... I would also keep an eye on either Toys R Us or the LEGO Store / S@H around the time the new Slave 1 is released in the US (between now and August) as these will be the only 2 possibilities LEGO would use if the White Boba Fett gets a wider distribution in the US. Supposedly they were given out free with the purchase of Slave 1 in Europe, so there is a decent supply of them out there ... don't get suckered by the crazy prices some have paid. These won't be nearly as rare as some people thought.
We just got the new Star Wars sets in(of course with a date of 8/6). No indication on the package of the slave 1 regarding the white Boba.
Week of the 18th, all Duplo, Atlantis, City & Prince of Persia sets will be B1G1 50%.
Hmm, I'm crossing my fingers that TRU will run an August promotion with the white Boba. I know for sure that LEGO isn't going to be putting them in random sets and I believe the white boba was distributed in Europe during the release of Slave 1, so I'm crossing my fingers that you guys get in a separate shipment with the figures next month .. but who can say for sure I guess.

Has the TRU truck City set shown up in stores yet? I haven't seen it personally, but maybe it will be an August release?

I hope I can score one of those mini figs too, I wish I would of jumped on one of the gold c3po a few years back. It's okay though, I have two chrome Darth Vaders.

Wandered into a Wal-Mart in Sanford, FL yesterday. 5974 Galactic Enforcer was on the shelf, marked $99. I knew it had been marked down at my store in Tampa and I missed it. Picked it up and it scanned @ $25!! There was only one, and I bought it REAL quick.

Went to a second store in North Orlando, where they had 2 of the Galactic Enforcer. Thought I would probably buy a 2nd one for my middle son, and the other for family friends. At this store, it rang up at $99. Definately YMMV.

From FW:

Use code "L9C4L9K" to take 40% off LEGO items at Barnes & Noble that have the "Toys and Games" banner to the left of the price. (Those are the only ones that will work with the code)

Shipping is free with orders over $25, or it's $3 otherwise.

Coupon expires 7/12/10.

Not bad, this would make the Battle for Almut only 47.97 before tax.

I didn't see much else, unless one would want some SW sets.

Is the shipping charge removed once they actually charge your card? When I ordered it shipping was included into the total despite it clearly stating the shipping is free on orders of $25 or more.

At Fred Meyers (and I assume other Marketplace-type stores in the Kroger family), they have an ad coupon for 25% off "today's prices" on ALL toys, with no limit. I took advantage of the "today's prices" part of the coupon, as they already had a few sets on sale: Prince of Persia 7572 Quest Against Time was already $34.99 (reg. $49.99) plus the additional 25% off made it only $26.24, and the IJ Venice Canal Chase was on sale for $27.99 (reg. $39.99), making it only $20.99 . I love sweet deals like this! FYI, the only other sets that I remember were on sale were the SP Freeze Ray Frenzy for $5.99 (reg. $9.99) and a Duplo Fire Station for $39.99 (reg. $59.99)
