Let's talk about Comic Books (And read some inside)
I googled it and skimmed the transcript. Sounds like he was pissed at Wizard cause they're too mainstream and portray too much of a stereotypical comic book fan. Oh well, some of those old school comic people take themselves too seriously. Another one is Alan Moore and the huge deal he's made over the V for Vendetta movie. I know its these guy's livelihoods, but to me, its entertainment and when you make such a huge deal about it you make the rest of the community look silly as well.
...but he's been screwed over before, both from the movie side, and by the comics side. Thats why he's no longer with DC and is (unless a certain rumor about marvel is true...) an Indy comics writer now.

Also, i read All-star Batman #2.... It's a bit on crack, but i love what they dow ith the batcar.

Also, JLA... same drugs, different ending :)

I stopped subscribing to Wizard last year because I was sick of them giving away major plot points before a story arc was finished. I don't read any issues until the arc is complete so I can read it straight through. Thanks to them, I knew who Mr. Blue was before I could read about it in Hulk last year. That was the one that made the decision for me. Plus, there "news" isn't news anymore by the time you finally get it. RVB may have been kidding, but I think Wizard is a complete waste of $6.

For the Runaways Fans out there:

Alright so Im currently reading new avengers, now for anyone how hasnt checked this series out you really have too for 1 reason. Sentry, how many times do you get to see carnage flown into outer space and thrown in two halves....crazyness I tell you. Check out new avengers. And sentry gets his own comic on the 23rd, might want to buy a few copies of issue 1 to hold onto.
New Avengers is one of the few Marvel titles I still pick up, and is one of my favorite series. But I have to admit that I'm not sure if I'm going to pick up the Sentry series. Here's a small preview of Sentry #1, and a look at both covers: http://www.marvelcomics.com/publishing/stories/showstory.htm?id=47. The site also says that it's coming out the 21st, which is a week from today.
I will get 2 to 4 copies of issue 1, one of which I will read and 3 I will store in hopes one day it may be worth something. Similar to what I did with ultimate spider 1, ultimates 1, ultimate fantastic 4 1 and so on.
How many copies of Ultimate Spider-Man #1 do you have? Those should be worth a good amount. But I doubt the other two do.
5 copies of Ultimate Spiderman #1, and I have every following issue up to issue um, dunno exaclty, its the one where Logan and Peter switch bodies I think its 69, after that I lost track of it and Ill probably read the TPB in stores.
HA! Are you serious? I was just joking when I said what I did about Wizard.
yea I heard that good stuff(but i still get wizard)CBG and others don't do it for me.

Comic shop news CSN, the free newspaper at the counter in stores is the best. But since i get everything online and never get to a store I want that dam newspaper. So my ? is....... anyone know how to get it sent to you for a small fee?
BTW, do any of your comic shops carry Comic Shop News? If not, ask them to carry it. It has great information and a comprehensive checklist every month. Plus, it's free. Have your shop's manager contact them at [email protected] or [email protected]
Neocisco posted this awhile ago. I'm not sure if it'll get you what you want, but it's worth a shot.

Then theirs this: http://www.csnsider.com/, which leads to this: http://www.csnsider.com/subscribe.htm, which brings us back to what Neocisco posted.

So I finished reading the weekly comics and: without spoiling anything

OHHHHHH its ON in JLA!!!!! I really do hate Hawkman BTW, I can't say that enough.

The 4-issue arc starting in Green Arrow this week should be interesting

All-star Batman is a dick, but it works for him

And am I the only person who just skips past anything Bizarro says because its too damn difficult to read anyway?

Me no compre...me no unnerst...me no get last wurds u wrut.

Ok since I have a new digital camera and feel the need to show off my awesome finds from last weekend, here it is:

Each issue cost me $.90 (originally $.99 as you see, but I have a 10% off card). Anyway they came to $31.xx after tax and then I had a $20 gift certificate from my birthday so I got all this stuff for $11. Excellent deal if I say so myself. The Crisis on Infinite Earths issues are definetly the gems of the bunch.
All-star Batman is a dick, but it works for him
Yeah, but I still can't imagine him saying "Are you retarded or something? Who the hell do you think I am? I'm the god damn Batman." Even if it was just scare tactic.
And am I the only person who just skips past anything Bizarro says because its too damn difficult to read anyway?
No, you're really not.

No, you're really not.
I had to laugh when he said that line "Are you retarded"

It was funny, but also kind of weird. And how many times have you heard Batman say "Cool"? I wonder where Miller is going to go with this. That's two issues of not much happening. And I'm not really sure how many issues Miller and Lee are going to do.

I used to read a bunch of Image titles (Shadow Hawk, Wetworks, etc.). Where can I get pricing on older issues? I need money, so I'm thinking about selling off some shiznit.

A lot of the older Image stuff isn't even worth the paper its printed on byt www.comicspriceguide.com is where I go to check approximate values.

Even though Jim Lee is my favorite artist, I asked my LCBS to set aside just the George Perez covers for each issue of IC. Mainly because of how great Perez's cover for IC #1 is, plus I really don't want to spend $8 for both covers of each issue. And I hadn't heard a thing about Perez's cover for Issue #2. I wonder what it is.
The George Perez cover to Infinite Crisis #3.

INCRCv3.jpg

Although I don't think they've released the Perez cover for IC #2 yet.
Hmm Supergirl seems to be missing from the picture. She is living with the Amazons right now.

Did anybody else notice in All-Star Batman and Robin #2 that Batman offered to show Robin his nuts? Go reread it and enoy the laugh.

I'm reading Daredevil's "Decalogue" storyline now and Bendis is maintaining the quality level. I feel sorry for whoever takes over when the current arc is done.
Any reason? Or is everyone else just too lazy? I always wanted to work at a comic book store though.
Owners are in Baltimore at the Diamond summit. So im next in line as far as importance goes (i at least feel somewhat special in the respect) so i get to lift in all the boxes from ups, open them, and then split all the comics for our 3 locations. Count, split, check-off, repeat. At least i get to see the comics a day early. I know i'll sure as hell be working the Tuesday the week Infinite Crisis #1 comes out :)

No clue on the # for Infinite Crisis, but seeing the end of Day of Vengeance #6 (BUY DAY OF VENGEANCE #6!!!) and the amount of shit hitting the fan, it may be larger than anyone could imagine

That'll be awesome. I mean everyone has been writing this mini off because it didn't have many A-listers involved with it. I almost feel like those of us who stuck with it from the beginning are getting rewarded.

Hunter Killer #4 is out this week too! You all know how much I like that one! If you don't then pay better attention!!!!!!

Damn today was busy.

I wish i ahd spare monies at the moment for the Identity Crisis HC...quality.
Ultimates was interesting as well, today. zIt'll be interesting how this all pans out

I was planning on picking up the Identity Crisis HC but it wasn't in at Borders yet, but I ended up picking up the 50 dollar! Ultimate Batman Hush. It's high quality and I've been meaning to get Hush for a while.

We got both covers of the IC HC. Theres a new Michael Turner cover, and then a more bookstore friendly versions with "Brad Meltzer" in large Print, along with the name, and a smaller picture of the broken and bloody JLA picture.

FYI

Was the Wolverine Black & White issue a chase variant? I suppose Nigel would be the most like to know. I only ask cause when I went to pick up my weekly comics it was sitting out with the regular issues and there was only 2 of them, well 1 after I bought the only one that was in decent shape.

Also I just finished reading it, and for being a Holocaust story it does have a dark comedy about it. Wolverine doesn's say 1 word throughout the entire issue which was kind of interesting but it works really well.

Day of Vengeance kicked a lot of ass. Infinie Crisis is really beginning to look like it will live up to the worst day in DC history as its being billed as.

Ultimates 2 #8 was pretty good also but I think its what people like to call a red herring.

Its not Cap. I think its Loki.

Anayways, we had 20+ copies at my store, and 60 of the regular. i think we could order how ever many we wanted. Didnt read it yet though, since today was so busy. I got some readin to do tommorow :)

...i really wish i didnt flip through JSA classified #3...i want to read it NOW!

Loki would probably make sense. Then again, Hank Pym would only benefit if Cap was out of the way...

Well, whether Wolverine #32 a chase or not, its a great stand alone story issue. What was really wierd about the black and white issue is that there was absolutely no advertisements in it, it was kind of wierd to feel a comic being that thin.

JSA Classified is FINALLY starting to pick up. I felt like the last 2 issues were just muck to get through. Finally its starting to make a little more sense.

And speaking of muck, that New Avengers issue was one of the lamest single comic issues I've read in a long time. There's practically no art work for about half the issue, its all talk, and the talk isn'e even all that interesting, its more like a recap of the last issue. Even if anyone's a New Avengers fan, I'd highly suggest skipping this title this week.

There was ONE interesting part that was kind of thrown in at the end involving Mr. Fantastic and the earlier New Avengers storyline that took place in the Savage Land but that hardly redeems the rest of the issue. Bendis, I'm disappointed in you.

I really hope this series gets better cause if not, I don't know how much longer I'll hang on to it what with DC pumping out some very quality stuff right now that might be more deserving of my comic budget.

Stop!!! I have a request.

PLEASE NOTE ANY SPOILERS!! PLEASE!

I like reading this thread and I don't want to have to stop because I might see something I haven't read yet. Thanks for the consideration.

Well try....

BTW, if they still have it FELL its a great little $2 comic by warren ellis. Its 16 pages of comic, a whole story about a cop in a new weird town, all drawn by Ben Templesmith (30 days of night guy...but drawing closer to normal). No ads too (the Wolverine note above rreminded me of that.

Ok, I just bought Ten Ever Lovin' Blue Eyed Years of Pogo - Walt Kelly
13 issues of King Cat Comics, and...

The first 3 reprints of Little Lulu!

Just read read JLA #119.

It's a biggie. "A league no more" according to the cover. Much like Wonder Woman 219, i'd suggest picking this up asap tommorow.

A little hint: Look at the cover to Infinite Crisis #1. See that explosion? Thats the watchtower. That happens in this issue (at the end, of course)

I've heard that Infinite Crisis begins, literally, hours (or less) after JLA 119 ends. I'd complain about you not putting spoiler about the watchtower blowing up but it was easily one of the worst guarded secrets regarding Infinite Crisis.

Also don't forget that Omac #6 is out this week as well and I'm very optomistic that there's a whopper of an ending for this one!

He hasnt pulled Omac out of the box yet :)

And yeah, the watchtower thing has been hinted at enough times that i felt it wasnt much of a spoiler. That being said, i didnt say why/how/who/what did it, and thats an important revelation in and of itself.

Its also kinda neat that the Infinite Crisis countdown finaly ended "Infinite Crisis: IS HERE!" *grin*

I'm sure I mentioned this before, but wow can I not wait for the next arc of Astonishing X-Men to start up. The ending to Danger or whatever it was actually called was awesome. And it had such a great set up for the next arc. Can't wait to see what the Hellfire Club is up to...Though I always used to hate them back in the old school X-Men comics.

And on another note that has to do with the X-Men, I can't believe it's taken me this many years to realize what a psychic fetish Cyc has. First it was Jean, then Psylocke, and now Emma. Dude loves his psychics...

I realized that a while ago. Thats why i hate him so much.

Damnit. I did that thing where i say i hate a fictional character because they get good looking fictional character tail, again. fucking comic shop is breaking me...
